  2. That looks like the Coquihalla Connector,which peaks at about 1800 metres. It often snows there in June.

    Stay calm or they’ll raise the carbon tax.

    1. Either that or the Merritt to Kelowna one..? And yes it does snow there in EVERY Season of the year… at altitudes near 4500′ (1400 – 1500m), not unsurprisingly.

      Just drove it a week ago with my GPS showing 1442m at Summit (Surrey lake)

      1. Steak, the Kelowna to Merritt hwy is called the Connector,it peaks at 1728 metres at the Pennask Summit.

        It’s one of the most exciting hiways in B.C. to drive in Winter.

    1. That highway is in BC, not Alberta. And, as others have said, snow there in June is common enough. You can drive through BC’s mountains on any rainy day and see snow falling at the higher elevations. The air’s temperature normally decreases two degrees with every 1000 feet of gain in altitude, so if the temp at sea level is +10°C, the temp at 6000 feet will be -2°C. Add some moisture and you get this sort of thing.

  7. Actually, that’s “Alberta type” weather for this time of year. On occasion. Consider the elevation – 1800 m = 5400 ft ASL give or take. Grouse Mountain, looking waaaaay down on Vancouver is at +/- 4000 ft ASL or so, Calgary is at +/- 3500 ft ASL. Tronna is at 420 ft ASL and located 480 miles south of Lat 49….almost California. Our schools should be teaching stuff like this rather than gender crap. Kanadjians are just plain ignorant about the country they live in, bottom line.

  8. The plain stupidity of global warming is that they keep lying to us. Spring, for the last 2 years has been 2 weeks late where I live in north-central Alberta. Most crops have been harvested in the Spring 2 out of the last 3 years because fall was so cold and wet. It is obvious to anyone who chooses to see, things are getting colder. Yet every year it is announced that the past year was the warmest on record. The 1990s were warm, just like the 1910s and 1930s but that ended over 15 years ago.

    The Agriculture Canada people decided, a few years ago, to redo all the horticultural zones because of global warming. My cold Zone 2 turned into a Zone 3. The 6 weeks of -30 to -40 last winter killed or severely crippled all my Zone 3 fruit trees and damaged many of my Zone 2 trees. The idiots are using fiction to back up fiction. They owe me about a grand for trees and an apology for sheer ignorance..

  13. This sort of breathless reporting of weather phenomena plays well with miseducated lowland city folks who have no understanding of, or experience with, the physics of weather. A day or two ago there was another article showing huskies wading through shallow water on top of melting ice in Greenland. Proof of global warming! In June, In Greenland, where the sun shines all day and all night at this time of year? Where vast amounts of snow and ice reliably melt every summer and get replenished every winter?

    And the MSM keeps promoting it and suppressing the thousands of real scientists who say it’s all phony.
