Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“while the pilot made a pre-flight error” by not connecting the poor guy to the hang glider. That is an understatement. What is amazing is that guy probably couldn’t hold onto a metal bar with 2 hands supporting his own weight for more than 30 seconds. With his life literally in his own hands he hangs on for almost 4 minutes.
amazing whut a shot of adrenaline can do.
reminds me of bridge bungie folks that fail to calculate the drop by the person’s weight.
or a similar fcukup. like the cord that breaks finally.
I dont and will never thrill seek. real life is hazardous enough tqvm.
I did a parachute jump in 1972 just to see what it was like and AND if I ever NEEDED to I would know the necessary basics. that was not a thrill jump it was a training jump.
my dive master was an IDF dude who complimented my method.
still have the log book. 2900 out of a cessna whatever.
Sometimes the urge to share goes beyond common sense. I deliberately carried my laptop to where my Wife was sitting. Showed Her this video.
Our oldest Son is a Sky Diver & yes Wing– suit/nut; Our youngest Son flies a Hang Glider with a gas powered engine/fan on his Back. Oldest is an Engineer; Youngest is a Lawyer.
I have a Grade Ten formal education and would never come near getting close to any of these Rube Goldburg gadgets. Probably making my own Lunch Today. :))))
I repeat, Do Not Let Go Of Your Sphincter
He.
Done.
GOOD!!!!!!
Dude should have never held on. If he had simply let go in the first second, thst is just s regular 1 man flight.
Hanging on is the result of panic; which also put him in danger, and kept it dangerous far longer.
For example, he should have let go the pilot and tried to center his weight on that front bar, instead of clinging tenaciously to the pilot and forcing a continual left turn.
Granted, it is a tall order to supress panic and act rationally. He had about 3 seconds or less to bail at the beginning before they had any altitude.
