  1. Elected Idiots.
There is going to be a whole rash of judgements like this coming out of the courts, as the judicial branch is forced to explain to legislators from liberal states (who are mostly lawyers and therefore of course don’t understand laws) that states cannot override federal laws, no matter how hard they stamp their pretty little feet.

CBC news enthusiastically reports that a UN climate change conference has begun in Santa Marta, Columbia. What makes this gab-fest different is that — unlikely UN gab-fests in the past — this one seeks to ELIMINATE oil and gas production all together. Previous conferences sough to reduce dependence on oil and gas, not eliminate them entirely.

Cansda is sending a delegation (senior bureaucrats but not federal ministers), and we’ll be the delegation representing the largest oil and gas producer (think about that for a moment, as to our economic suicide proclivities). Canadian NGOs are going, and most have federal funding.

    1. Will Canadians Go Quietly (as Carney loads the railcars)?
The Canadian government funding participation in yet one more national suicide-fest is totally coherent with policy.

  3. The AIs Dusk & wooden planet; I watched both and a couple of the followups.

Interesting futuristic themes but all of the people, their relaxations and interactions are straight, blatant 1950s North America.

Do AIs, electric sheep, dream of fifties people?

  4. I saw a headline in the Financial Post today (op. ed. page, FP8): “Canada’s hydro power problem is all the barriers in its way”. To which my immediate response was, “Well, dam!”

    1. Yeah … Freedom! Trump’s Anthem. It should be played at the Lincoln Memorial … echoing across the newly restored reflecting pool.

      Your senses are returning,
you’ll soon be on your way
      the old bridges burning,
it’s your new life’s first day
      so lift up your head
      and rise the banner high
the older is dead and a new flag will fly.

      Stars and Stripes blue.

  5. Looks like Canada won’t be dodging a bullet after all.

    https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/article/canada-called-on-to-fill-vacuum-in-lgbtq2s-advocacy-worldwide-in-face-of-trump-cuts/

“The Trump administration dismantled the $40 billion U.S. Agency for International Development, the world’s largest aid organization, cutting millions of people with HIV off from access to lifesaving drugs. Administration officials also have voiced support for European far-right political parties that seek to restrict LGBTQ+ rights.”

Translation: Canada – please send money.

But $40 billion? That’s our entire deficit. That’s almost as much as Alberta sends Quebec in one year.

    1. She said there is a funding and advocacy gap left by Trump …

Advocacy. Fund Alphabet … advocacy. Inotherwords … PAY for more Drag Queen story hour. Pay for the brainwashing of our children. It’s not about HIV drugs … it’s about proselytizing the Gay Queer agenda.

    1. Come on … the schools can’t be as hard-up for substitute teachers as this Queer is hard-up for a sex partner …
A 19yo Queer substitute teacher? Really?

      Home schooling is the answer
