I’d say that America dodged a huge bullet when they chose Bush over John F’in Kerry… Except that as great a fool as Kerry may be, Obama is certainly worse.

Thomas Reed, sometime Speaker of the House of Representatives, once replied to a question: “A statesman is a successful politician who is dead.” He received a telegram from a constituent: “Why don’t you die?”
If a ‘statesman’ is a dead successful politician, then it is highly unlikely we will ever see any more statesmen. None of the present crop of politicians can be described as ‘successful’. Just ask anyone of the opposite party!
