      I’m with you. I supported him, despite all his massive character flaws, right up until his IDIOTIC, inexplicable attack on Ron Desantis just before the mid-terms. That was the last straw, for me.

          All I know about Ron DeSantis is what I see, hear and read from various sources. His opinions (and more importantly, his actions) on wokeness, gay marriage, abortion, immigration, vaccine mandates and other issues made him wildly popular among conservatives, and many Americans seemed to be excited about a possible Trump/DeSantis Republican ticket in 2024 that would have been virtually unstoppable. If all of that is ‘fake’, then he must be the BEST ACTOR EVER.

          It seemed as though the rising popularity of DeSantis suddenly became a threat to Donald Trump’s fragile ego. Trump’s *unprovoked* attack (“Ron Desanctimonius”?) right before the midterms was childish, counter-productive and a total shock to many long-time Trump supporters…and may even have resulted in voters staying home in disgust. It HURT the Republicans and aided the Democrats. It was the last straw for people like me, who never really liked the man but liked what he was doing. No more, though…I’m totally done with him now, and will waste no more time defending him. If he can’t put the American people and the good of the nation above his own petty emotional needs, America doesn’t need him either.

            RINOs are much like our own ‘Progressive’ Conservatives. They don’t like DeSantis at all but they do know that he resonates with millions of Americans. They would support his nomination as the Republican candidate, then just back-stab him as they did to Donald Trump…anything to stay in power. That’s what makes them RINOs.
