Gupta Lab: Sharing some potentially significant findings relating to Omicron
Omicron Spike protein induces relatively poor cell-cell fusion compared to [Wild Type] and Delta. We expressed spike in cells stably expressing split GFP, so that Green signal could be measured over time upon cell-cell fusion and syncitia formation. The difference is significant.
What does this all mean? Efficient infection of lung cells could correlate with severity of lung disease. Syncitia or fused cells are often seen in respiratory tissues taken following severe disease. Delta was very good at both, in contrast to Omicron. Further work is needed
I can’t believe we’re at the point where we’re hoping this thing turns into a cold and we all get it but here we are. I still say China needs to pay for this. I doubt many would oppose nuking Wuhan at this point although this could have been prevented if it was done on day 1.

Let’s try to be precise here, poorly analysed stats aside, covid poses a different and yes I would say greater risk to people’s short term and perhaps long term health than “the flu”. Sorry John but viruses manifest themselves in different ways with different people. The flu in all it incarnations over hundreds and thousands of years has done everything the whu who flu has done, to believe otherwise is to drink the government sponsored kool-aid. We old folks, I am one, die every year in the tens of thousands from virus induced illness. The “covid”, they had to find a name for it, has proven to no more deadly than the seasonal flu. Raw numbers prove that, computer models and tests do not.
That’s really the overall takeaway from the while epidemic if you ask me. If you had any faith in government being able to handle a crisis. It must sure be gone , at least if you have been paying any attention at all.
Growing up in the 60s and 70s I was raised on gung ho can do attitude. I believed if trouble arose. Science, government, and if need be the army would rouse themselves and solve it. As evidence I had the last few decades of just that kind of thing.
In contrast the last few decades should have taught us what to expect before covid was a thing, but we were mostly slow learners. I’ve had both. They are not anywhere near the same. The symptoms are different. Covid also shows up in blood samples as elevated D-Dimer. The flu doesn’t do that.

Though I am no expert, it was quite a bit different for me and my partner as well. She is never much affected by flu, and neither am I. At worst we get, well the flu. We ended up in hospital with pneumonia. That’s different from flu.
Before you ask we aren’t old, or sickly and we don’t (and won’t ) get either covid or flu vaccines. The former for 100 reasons, the latter because we are not old/ compromised enough to need protection from flu.

However, Mac, I will state that I do NOT know anyone who has had, or died of the dreaded Covid of any variant, but I know of several injected people that have had adverse effects, and three that are going through extremely difficult health issues due to these injections. Personally, I will remain steadfast in my refusal to take that goo, and no matter the pressure from idiots calling me ignorant, or a killer for refusing the goo. I see way to much evidence that the injection is causing the majority of the problems, not the actual virus. If I must reduce my connection to society because of the fear porn, and idiotic government decrees, meh, I’ll get by, I never did eat out much anyway.
