As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the housetop the coursers they flew
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too–
In the spirit of Henry LIvingston’s famous poem, this evening we learn more about coursers and what it might be like from Santa’s POV.

The “Vaccine” really does work – when you ignore it.
Covid is rapidly disappearing in the 4 least-vaccinated states in the US. Meanwhile, in the most-vaccinated states, it is exploding.
https://realclimatescience.com/2021/12/new-england-is-on-fire/
I think omicron infects the vaccinated more readily than the unvaxxed. So far it’s 80% vaxxed, 20% unvaxxed omicron cases in the us. I’m just hoping that getting a breakthrough case of omnicron eliminates ade out of self interest.
Dr. Malone agrees with you james.
https://citizenfreepress.com/breaking/dr-robert-malone-makes-rare-fox-news-appearance-with-laura-ingraham/
Very good link .
Malone says “omicron blows right through the vaccines and triple jabbed .
And omicron has less than 10 deaths worldwide…”
“Omicron shifted the targeting of where it infects. Previous variants infected the deep lung, which we know from influenza is a great way to cause severe disease in humans.
And shifted to the upper airway – to the bronchus.
And we know from influenza when viruses do that in the upper respiratory tract it makes it much less pathogenic and more infectious.
It looks to experienced vaccinologists like a live attenuated virus vaccine that you would design for this purpose.
Its going to illicit a strong mucosal immune response.
This is as good as we could possibly want”
A live attenuated virus vaccine administered nasally was what the Vejon Conference panel GVB was on recently

I first encountered that malarkey when my former employer, Armpit College, adopted the “student as customer” doctrine nearly 30 years ago. The emphasis was to “deliver learning” that “meets or exceeds the needs and expectations” of my students, er, customers.
With that, the concept of standards was effectively abolished and, thereby, made my job much more difficult and miserable.

From MLB.com
CLEVELAND — Guardians catching prospect Andrés Meléndez died suddenly on Thursday afternoon in Miami, the team announced. He was 20 years old. No details were released on the cause of his death.
Cameron Boyce from Disney Channels “Jessie” died at 20 due to a seizure. So it does happen. No drugs. Nothing crazy. Epileptic seizure. And gone.
But, come on, how many athletes this year. And this guy. Unexplained causes. No seizures. Want to guess? Teacher. MEEEE. MEEEEEE!!!
If this is a depopulation shot, I’m not entirely upset. The world economy was going to collapse. Immediately after the collapse, there would be calls for new governments, and all of our public ‘servants’ and their families would vote for the first party to recognize their great sacrifices and their call for their deserved pensions. Then the students would want their ‘free education’ so they could join the group. We’d be outnumbered. And the cycle would continue.
But this way, public servants and their families are all jabbed. Tech workers censoring us are all jabbed. Media people and their families are lining up for the shot. Cool. Woke Hollywood. Bye. The entire educational system and all graduates…..I’ll celebrate like a Palestinian on 9-11 when they’re gone.
And even the foot soldiers of our oppressors are jabbed. Military and cops that would not say no have the shot. Foot chases should be fun.
And with every shot comes more deaths and side effects. More people wake up. More people join our side. I know people that after the shots have serious side effects and are pissed. And I’m anti-social. Our leaders should be worried. Our “leaders” ARE worried.
Oh, there will be clean up of the elites. But an economic collapse, civil war scenario would probably be much worse. Now, the dying can seek revenge. Karen, avenging her dying children, versus our pampered elites. Cool. And the unjabbed will have so much less work to do than in any other scenario.
I’m done with news for a while. I just wanted to share another dead athlete story.
I’m feeling more and more optimistic.
There are going to be a lot of dead but they hate me and want free cash so I’m good.

Haven’t purchased a single item from Amazon. Nada. Zip. Zero.
While I understand that (and don’t get me wrong, I’m not excusing what Amazon does) sometimes it just makes sense. Been looking for a spare diffuser for my MIG welder for some time now. It’s a bit of an oddball, looked for weeks (including local welding shops), finally found one at Gregg Dist. 40 bucks! Cross referenced the number on the packaging at Amazon. $10 for a pair, freight in. I like supporting a Canadian company but a $35 difference on a little brass diffuser?

I just finished watching the last part of The First Churchills, which I referred to a few days ago. The episodes are at:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCvB98ZBDeiRjphNaBaYtWQ/videos
There’s a Canadian connection to that series. The actor who played the Duke of Marlborough, John Neville, moved to Canada a few years after it ended and eventually became a citizen.
A comment about the music played over the opening and closing credits, if I may. The opening is taken from Henry Purcell’s opera King Arthur and the closing from his suite for the play Abdelazer, or The Moor’s Revenge.
As for the music for The Forsyte Saga, which I also mentioned, it’s from The Three Elizabeths by Eric Coates.
Say BADR, wasn’t John Neville one of the sinister shadowy Elites portrayed in ” The X Files ” ?
Always enjoyed his acting.
Never having watched the show, I had to look up his page on IMDB. It seems he was a member of the cast.
He was an alumnus of RADA and was awarded an OBE.
Nice of you to provide the link. Did you enjoy “The First Churchills”? The other included videos look interesting as well. Back in the 70s, I never missed an episode of “Upstairs Downstairs” and because of it, I also enjoyed the “Downton Abbey” series and the movie as well. The movie tied up all the loose ends in the saga. In the latter, Maggie Smith stole the show.
I enjoyed The First Churchills, but not quite as much as I’d hoped. It’s one of those shows where one can’t tell the players without a program, so it was sometimes hard to follow as to who was who and whether or not they were good guys.
Still, I think it was a good choice by which to inaugurate Masterpiece Theatre. Maybe I would have had a better appreciation for it with the late Alistair Cooke’s comments.
I remember watching Upstairs Downstairs when it was shown on KSPS (Spokane’s PBS station, which we get on cable here in Edmonton) more than 30 years ago. At the same time, the old ACCESS Network ran it as well, so I watched it 2 or 3 times.
A few years ago, there was a follow-up series and that ran on PBS for a while. It was terrible. Avoid that one like the plague. As for Downton Abbey, I quit watching after Shirley Maclaine’s appearance.
I’ve got a pair of movies in my queue, after which I’ll start watching The Pallisers. (Who says YouTube’s all bad?)
While on the subject of mini-series, take a look at The Jewel in the Crown, which aired on the CBC and PBS in the mid-1980s:
https://www.youtube.com/user/dme9161/videos
I’ve got it on DVD and my edition includes some of Alistair Cooke’s comments.
Great!
I remember seeing a bit of “The Jewel in the Crown” back in the ’80s here and there but I never finished it. The history is compelling. India was more united and prosperous through a common language, i.e., the English language.
Winter will be shorter now, a nice cup of tea and tee-vee!
You’re welcome.
Shirley Maclaine wasn’t featured in Downton Abbey for very long, I think she appeared in one or two episodes for short but effective, well written scenes. She was excellent, imo, her character highlighted the differences between brash Americans and the reserved Brits. This series drew a parallel to the era when rich Americans flocked to Europe in search of titles and vast estates. There were many of them. (I made a reference to the book “Titled Americans” a few days ago)
P. S.
Others who didn’t stay in Europe, shopped there and bought tons of antiques and shipped them to the States. There were whole rooms of furniture, even fireplaces and wall paneling that were at the ready for cold hard cash. That’s another story though, Europe had seen it’s best days gone by. Today these show pieces make up the contents of Museums. One such shopaholic was Marjorie Post who had several homes, one of which is POTUS Trump’s estate in Florida.
I watched TFC many years ago and really enjoyed parts of it. Some of the acting and lines are great. Susan Hampshire really got on my nerves though. Her ingenue effervescence that delighted in The Forsyte Sage turned into neurotic irritation. She was obviously playing the harridan Sarah Churchill role, but still. She’s much more sedate and still quite attractive 30 years later in Monarch Of The Glen.
As a former CBC listener, you might recall that Neville was interviewed by Gzowski back in the day on Morningside. He laughed about how he, Villiers (Charles II), and Standing (Godolphin), and others were frequently so plastered out of their minds with booze they made a complete mess of their scenes. Apparently to the annoyance of Hampshire and others as retakes were often required. In the end, he didn’t remember much of it. I’ve watched certain episodes a number of times, and can detect slurred speech only a few times. There’s one scene that wasn’t re-taken where the principals stand there giggling for a brief moment, and when you realize they’re completely sotted it’s sort of funny. Perhaps that’s historical verisimilitude.
The Pallisers was very long, and not very entertaining. It was the big follow-up to the very successful Forsyte Saga. It’s always fun to recognize faces in these old shows, as the acting pool was only so deep when you have to film a 20 episode series. The funny thing is they always end up on Midsomer Murders if they live long enough.
I don’t remember hearing that interview you referred to. Mind you, being blotto on set seems to be an acting tradition. Hugh Griffith was renowned for that during the filming of Tom Jones and there are scenes where one could clearly tell he was zonked out of his gourd.
As for cracking up during a scene, Sir Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were notorious for doing that in the movies they both were in. They were good friends and, from what I heard, there were times when neither of them could keep a straight face and the scene would have to be re-shot.
I quite agree about Susan Hampshire being somewhat irritating on screen in The First Churchills. I noticed that in her performace in The Forsyte Saga, which was one reason I didn’t particularly like her character.
Further to that bit about sozzled actors, more than 30 years ago, a TV mockumentary Norbert Smith–A Life was broadcast on PBS.
There was one segment in which certain movie stars were lampooned for their predilection for alcohol (starting at around 5:20):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWMgqtspbhI
The show in question can be found at:
https://www.youtube.com/user/The1962driftingaway/videos

Fleur didn’t get on my nerves as much as Sarah Churchill did. But if you weren’t keen on her performance in Forsyte, you might want to think twice about investing so much of your life watching Pallisers. I’m not really convinced Hampshire can act her way out of a paper bag. And Philip Latham is quite the cold fish who is in so much of the series. He does nothing to liven things up.
Hampshire wasn’t bad in Barchester Chronicles. You might like to re-watch that classic with the slippery Slope over Xmas. I think the series of Trollope novels that the series was based upon was much more entertaining and witty than his Pallisers stuff. It’s an only slightly less sit-com take on the Church Of England than Gas And Garters was, only more irreverent. Nigel Hawthorne was great, as usual. Donald Pleasence less so.
It’s an only slightly less sit-com take on the Church Of England than Gas And Garters was
ha! now that would be an interesting tv show!
I meant to type (or perhaps did but was auto-corrected) gaiters…
you might want to think twice about investing so much of your life watching Pallisers
I’d heard a lot about it and saw bits of it when it was shown on KSPS (the Spokane PBS station we get on cable here in Edmonton) nearly 40 years ago.
I’m usually doing something else while the show’s playing, so it’s not like I sit there an stare at the screen. I’ve started watching other shows and movies on YouTube, only to bail after a short bit because I didn’t like them.
As for Barchester Chronicles, I remember when that was on Masterpiece Theatre in the mid-1980s. I might have another look at it.
As for Barchester Chronicles, I might have another look at it.
You really should. It’s a sedate masterpiece, that in my estimation perfectly captured the social milieu of rarefied ecclesiastical sinecures in a state/government religion. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the romance that came to fruit at the end. But all that soppy stuff was mercifully brief. Most of the actors were top-drawer and recognizable in so much British fare.
I only dip into the news when I’m drinking and then drop it for a while. Not a bad plan.
On the CBC last night. the reporter actually said that they identified the first UK person to die of Omicron. He was an unvaxxed, young healthy person!!! Very strong. Of course he was. Nice CBC…
A modern day Adonis. The perfection of health. We all need to run out to get the jab…
But first. Tell me about the Montreal Massacre. Who was the killer? Show us a picture. That always bugged me until the internet really kicked in. I knew something was wrong. It was almost 1990 and there were NO pictures at all of the guy!? Something was wrong. The start of waking up…
I remember seeing pictures of Lepine published in the newspapers right after the incident.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_L%C3%A9pine
He was a muslim who had changed his name. Can’t have the personal jihad under his real name.
I didn’t. And that bothered me. What newspapers?
But the pictures probably didn’t say he was born Gamil Rodrigue Liass Gharbi. I was reading papers then. No pictures. I’m not arguing with you. I’m just interested. For years, and I ‘followed the news’, I thought the guy was a white French Canadian that hated women. Did you know differently based on the news at that time?
I have pictures of my black god-daughter at a memorial for a bunch of women killed by an angry white guy.
It was decades later that I learned more.
Well, that settles it…someone finally died from the Omigod variant…but we know nothing about them.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-59639007
I doubt it. More fake not-covid news.
Actually, I did start watching the ‘news’ to see why so many in my small town were in masks.
The CBC guy said, honestly, not making this up, that the first victim of Omicron was a very healthy unvaccinated person.
I’m sure he was god-like. Adonis. Zeus. DAMN YOU COVID!!! The healthiest man alive!!!
Today Blacklock reviews a book on what Canadian families ate during the Second World War. This includes liver, which I hate but my wife loves.
We have a page torn from something which lists “Canada’s Food Rules” Approved by the Canadian Council on Nutrition, 1944:
1. Milk – adults 1/2 to 1 pint. Children 1-1/2 pints to 1 quart.
2. Fruit – one serving fo citrus fruit or tomatoes or thier juices; and one serving of other fruit.
3. Vegetables – at least one serving of potatoes; at least two servings of other vegetables, preferable leafy, green or yellow, and frequently raw.
4. Cereals and bread – one serving of a whole-grain cereal and at least four slices of Canada Approved Vitamin B bread (whole wheat, brown or white), with butter.
5. Meat and fish – one serving of meat, fish, poultry or meat alternates such as beans, peas, nuts, eggs or cheese. Also use eggs and cheese at least three times a week and liver frequently.
A fish liver oil, as a source of vitamin D, should be given to children and expectant mothers, and may be advisable for other adults.
Iodized salt is recommended.

Do Not Be Deceived.
He’s simply playing into the hands of those suggesting that the United States is on the verge of Civil War, caused by…wait for it..Trumpians.
This is ruling class propaganda at its finest. The CIA suggesting that “Trumpians” must to purged from the military, and that the remaining “liberal military” must be convinced that it is in the nation’s best interest for them to be willing to fire on those with whom they have a political disagreement. Of course, the FBI’s role in this cannot be ignored; particularly their in-house conspiracy to kidnap the governor of Michigan.
While there is undeniably strong political polarization, it’s not been caused by “Trumpians,” it’s an obvious reaction to the authoritarian overreach of the progressive ruling class.
