The Wisdom of Václav Klaus

Václav Klaus, the former Prime Minister of Czech Republic, is a very wise man. SDA regular LindaL recommended this recent interview with him:

One of the things he talks about is Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World being a dystopican prophecy for what is happening post-Covid. Here’s a summary of this important book:

The boys learn about the Bokanovsky and Podsnap Processes that allow the Hatchery to produce thousands of nearly identical human embryos. During the gestation period the embryos travel in bottles along a conveyor belt through a factorylike building, and are conditioned to belong to one of five castes: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, or Epsilon. The Alpha embryos are destined to become the leaders and thinkers of the World State. Each of the succeeding castes is conditioned to be slightly less physically and intellectually impressive. The Epsilons, stunted and stupefied by oxygen deprivation and chemical treatments, are destined to perform menial labor.

The Director then leads the boys to the Nursery, where they observe a group of Delta infants being reprogrammed to dislike books and flowers. The Director explains that this conditioning helps to make Deltas docile and eager consumers. He then tells the boys about the “hypnopaedic” (sleep-teaching) methods used to teach children the morals of the World State. In a room where older children are napping, a whispering voice is heard repeating a lesson in “Elementary Class Consciousness.”

Outside, the Director shows the boys hundreds of naked children engaged in sexual play and games like “Centrifugal Bumble-puppy.” Mustapha Mond, one of the ten World Controllers, introduces himself to the boys and begins to explain the history of the World State, focusing on the State’s successful efforts to remove strong emotions, desires, and human relationships from society.

  1. “Centrifugal Bumble-puppy.”

Ah, a new nickname for Prinz Dummkopf, especially the bumbling part.

  2. So, our current civilization is being prepared for a totally genetically engineered future.
    And we are not invited.
Need to get rid of everyone to do this.

If I know anything about our planet, what our governments do has never been a good idea.
    There are always consequences.

    1. Aw nuts. I know I shouldn’t be laughing as I wipe a tear from my eye, but Arnie outdid himself.

  3. Vaclav Klaus is the real hero of the Velvet Revolution. Not the failed writer of unwatchable “absurd” theatre the globalists picked to be their puppet after letting go their communist deputies in Prague, guessing correctly that Vaclav Havel was naive and easily manipulated. (Why him? Someone saw his plays in New York.)

“Artists” do not understand economics. Havel’s idea of a just society would have been a form of socialism where he would be paid by the state to “write something nice.”

Klaus did all the hard work of reforming the Czech economy. Havel loathed him for understanding that art doesn’t put bread on the table or clean up 40 years of pollution.

Havel is remembered in official histories as a hero. Klaus is only remembered outside the Czech Republic by the likes of us.

  4. Been a very long time since I read it.
Along with Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, my Dystopian Trilogy must-read as a youth but I wonder if any of them are read by young people today.
Lord knows that in Chinada everyone thinks the State is benevolent and I’m sure that whatever civics is taught its probably nothing short of a Liberal Party of Canada bukkake lesson.

    1. Buddy, I will answer your question about are they being reads today, the answer is no. There are many who say I am wrong but unfortunately I am right and most kids are very poorly educated.

      1. I have to agree. There’s a twice annual ethics lecture and iron ring ceremony in Calgary. I’m a regular volunteer.

The last few crops of graduates that I’ve talked to are blindingly ignorant about how little they know. When I ask a few probing questions about the items I’ve heard them discussing that are near and dear to their hearts, and what the opposing viewpoint has to say, they look bewildered. “How could anyone take an opposing view?” They just don’t know.

        1. Considering what’s being hired as engineering professors nowadays, I’m not surprised at what you observed.

When I was an undergrad, back in the Triassic Era, many of my profs already had some “trigger time”, acquired from having been out in the field, in a design office, or on a shop floor. Whatever they taught us came not just from the textbooks we used but from their personal experiences.

Engineering profs are now hired directly out of university and actual grunt time in industry is hazardous to one’s career prospects. The graduands (note the term–they didn’t get their degrees yet) you spoke with were taught by professors who’ve never really spent a significant amount of time out in the real world, like I did before I started on my first master’s degree. So how could they have learned that here might be a different perspective on anything?

  5. When “the wall” came down every media talking head busied themselves by writing obituaries for Communism. Nonsense. What it did was flood Western Europe with hard as flint Marxist apparatchiks from the East Bloc who then inserted themselves in bureaucratic positions and higher in the West. Angela Merkel being a prime example.
Almost by design some might say.

Every time I hear the Scorpions “Winds of Change” it reminds me of how eager Western Europeans were to sign their own death warrant.

  6. People, especially leftists, go on and on about 1984.

Brave New World is far more prophetic but it lacks the drama of a knowingly malevolent villain.

    1. Sorry, but I disagree totally. BNW is a fun read, but 1984 reads as today’s “News” brought to you via the Ministries of Peace, Love and Truth. It is frighteningly prophetic.

  7. Klaus is a reminder of the revolutionary and transient notion of liberty in a human history more normalized toward statist variants of feudalism. We have been reverting for a while and now accelerating backwards towards serfdom. 1984 has gone digital.

  8. I wonder how hard it would be to live in Czechia if you only speak English and conversational French?

    1. Living is no problem, in fact one can have a very nice life in Prague for not so much money. (Best beer in the world for $2 per pint.) Lots of history, anything from Holy Roman Empire to Habsburg, and German occupation to Soviet domination/occupation.

You need a residency permit and, presumably a job. This could be a challenge for Canadians – unless you work for an international company needed an expat to relocate to CZ, or perhaps is in academia and want to teach in CZ. Freelance/running a business could be an option too, but you probably need a local person to help you get going. Do your research, find a job, and go for it.

  9. Good day today as _ tomorrow overhangs even further than the last few years. Without the potential of POTUS #45 to keep the original Huns at bay- except now boldly heading East instead of across the steppes of Asia/Europe the battle for the New World, defined as North America commences.
There is alternatives being presented as this is typed; Senator Ted Cruz stepped forward to offer the alternative used after the U.S.A. Civil War; but the depths of the Dem-ons need to win as a last ditch stand against actually abandoned the ‘We know better than you -fast food – shoppers of the best for less money’ Why ? __ because you are the ones sending tax-$$ to allow us to stay safe __ while the tax-$$ you send; feed is in a grand style for less money than you pay at the -fast food-!
In addition Senator Tim Scott a true African American Representative actually allowed into the now less vaunted chambers of ‘We know better…’
Seantor Scott will not be any semblance of the Iranian candidate which brought about the cancel culture – your decision as to this being truth Or not: but Senator Scott maybe the best Person to go forward at this stage. ___ However it does seem; the initial recognition for a future is to understand where the U.S.A. of today was before the “Adjustment War” in the failures of the U.S.A under the various iterations of corruption and cruelty to minorities as the Democrat Party(s) coalesced to become the current example. __ The democrat collusion with any avenue of escape from the possible-probable justice of malfeance applied during the periods in domination of the Government/Media.
I thought moving back in time and the words of educated/learned which means ‘nada’ in today’s 24/7 rat race of ‘must be first’ second means loser.
The source is Winchester- Encylopedia ‘copy right 1905’ The Great Events by Famous Historians. Language and a clearer understanding of the “Civil War” the educated/learned will certainly understand in the several decades of Financial/Political Dialogue prior to an understanding of the necessary “Redjustment War” to bring the New World into line with the Old World. Such is where the today’s Dem-ons have brought the “Exceptionalism of the Real Americans” civilized by Their Parents in the best traditions of the Judeo/Christian philosophy to ‘share the plenty’ when possible & practical.
The first phrases which jump out of 115 ‘copy right’ Years past, at least to this person who lived through 80 Years and more than 50 % of the 115 years as an Adult. Starting in My early teens. __ The -1860- descriptive of probably some aged contemporaries of the defined today “Worst President” POTUS Buchanan:_ “Long life in the Public Service” _ “conciliatory character were all guarantees against his precipating a conflict between the Federal Government and any of the States” _ “but the feeble power that he possessed …….. to mould the policy of the future was painfully evident.” _ ” he held that the Federal Government had no rightful power to coerce a State.” There are several additional Quotations regarding the Union and the reluctance to use force: including _ “it must one day perish”. __ I guess it will take another to preserve the Union. __ OR will “Readjustment Wars” will also become the ‘New World expectation’ ?

    1. Another semi-intelligible off-topic word-vomit. Is there some medication you’e supposed to be taking?

  10. The concept of the Hunger Games comes to mind, coinsiding with the implementation of UN Agenda 21/30.

Basically hustling people out of the countryside and cramming them into gated cities, save for the isolated “work plantations” in remote specialized parts of the country. Forestry, mining, agriculture………..

Of course the Elites have free rieng of everything, while everyone else lives to the end of their “usefulness”.

Liberal fantasies coming to force near you.

  11. This interview was done for a forthcoming documentary: Planet Lock down. It is due out later this month with some additional interviews here: https://www.planetlockdownfilm.com
In the comments at YouTube, Havel is criticized for dismissing that the pandemic response was long planned by elites. I think the critics are right on that, though I also think Klause’s metaphor of a pebble starting an avalanche is a good way to describe how hysteria spreads.
Has anyone read the Madness of Crowds? Seems timely.

  12. Even though it is Saturday night, Ontario is locked down, so I am sampling some of those other interviews on Planet Lockdown. They have some excellent interviewees. Kurt Wittkowski is an epidemiologist and he is livid about how this has been handled. Among other things they keep changing the definition of what is a Covid death. Eventually it was anyone who died in a situation where Covid was known to be spreading. That would likely include anyone dying in an old folks home. Now, of course, it is all about “cases” — many with no symptoms. This is in line with what many here have been saying, but it is good to hear this from an experienced epidemiologist. Check the list of interviewees here: https://www.planetlockdownfilm.com/full-interviews Send the links to your friends who think you are the crazy one.
