Showing Up To Riot

Andy Ngo, in the NY Post;

In August, NPR gave an unchallenged platform to Vicky Osterweil to promote her book “In Defense of Looting.” During the interview, the author argued that rioting and looting were legitimate acts of protest. Both local and national media rigidly only referred to the far-left rioters as “protesters.” The Associated Press, which sets guidelines for journalists, amended its stylebook to discourage use of the word “riot,” given protesters’ “underlying grievances.”

Hours after pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol, Antifa tried to break into the Multnomah County Courthouse in downtown Portland. A mob of black-clad Antifa militants proceeded to smash businesses and public buildings using hammers. On one wall, they spray-painted an Antifa logo and the warning, “The state can no longer suppress us.”

Protesters then confronted Mayor Wheeler at a restaurant and hit him. But by morning, no national media had reported on the anti-government violence in Portland — the third riot in the city since New Year’s Eve.

69 Replies to “Showing Up To Riot”

    1. Being Left has turned itself hypocrites when they can change the truth back on itself and be accepted as the new truth…
In other words, being deceptive is the new normal in politics and the media.
This is where the US Congress now can confuse the public into insanity.

    2. So…you will not be showing up to riot?
Shame…here I was hoping for a revolution, with some great leaders.

    3. Kate, you may not be nicer but you’re better. All sincere advocates for LIBERTY are better. As Jordan Peterson points out, niceness is not a worthy goal.

  1. If the election had not been stolen, and Trump was being inaugerated this January, no one has any doubt that leftist mobs would be rioting and destroying property absolutely everywhere, and would probably have tried to storm the Capitol as well (there are precedents, after all – leftist agitators have stormed the Capitol before, for e.g.: during the Kavenaugh hearings). And all the very same media heads and Dem politicans currently indulging in their opportunistic outrage would be preaching to us all that the rioters are “stunning” and “brave” and we should make efforts to “understand their anger” and if any one was shot, that leftist agitator would be a leftist martyr who would be used to inspire even more rioting. Violent dissent is patriotic in their eyes only when a Republican is President.

    1. Ok, Ann, so the left and its media enablers are a bunch of hypocrites. Fine, that’s THEM; what about YOU?

What is YOUR position on “violent dissent”?

No doubt you denounce the actions of Antifa rioters, violent BLM protesters, those who stormed the Kavanaugh hearings. Do you also denounce, with equal vigour, those Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol Building this week?

      1. Lance, when the other side gets violent you have no choice but to get violent back. If you don’t the police will round you up and send you to the GULAG, and you’ll just take it because they are acting in accordance with the law.

      2. Violent dissent because against the constitution is wrong. Violent dissent in defence of the constitution is right. It’s not that complicated.

        1. Rusty, everyone — even those tossing Molotov cocktails through shop windows, or hitting cops over the head with fire extinguishers — thinks they’re defending the Constitution when they join the riot.

Doesn’t necessarily make it so. Doesn’t necessarily make it right.

          1. By … The Constitution? You mean that “living document” which can (and should) be changed to suit the whims of a “changing culture” (sic)? That old document written by white patriarchal settlers and invaders (sic)?

That “Constitution” … ? Which is regularly trashed by BLM and ANTIFA?

There is no such thing as moral relativism. There is only TRUTH. Only RIGHT and WRONG

      3. Whataboutisms are the left’s attempt at gaslighting. You’re going to have to do better than that.

      4. Should I denounce people on the right with the same vigour that leftists denounce people on the left when they engage is these actions, lance? Should I respect Biden with the same amount of respect that leftists have for Trump, lance? Should I respect AOC and Nancy P with the same amount of respect that leftists have for any prominent conservative lady politician or judge, lance?

Leftists use the peace-and-reconciliation-and-play-nice rhetoric as a tactic, as a hammer to wield against those under the illusion that leftists want peace and reconciliation and everyone to be nice, that leftists want compromise and negotiation. But leftists don’t want that. Leftists don’t want to get along, with a few disagreements here and there to be negotiated and ironed out and compromised with. Leftists want domination. Leftists use the other side’s sense of fair play and kindness and desire to be left in peace to pursue life, liberty and happiness – leftists use the other’s side’s high bar to engage in opportunistic freak-outs when we don’t make that high bar (or they lie that we haven’t). And leftists set such a low bar for their own side that they easily make it (or they don’t have a bar at all).

Problem is, leftists want the Marquis of Queensbury rules to only be followed by those they seek to obliterate. WE have to behave. Leftists don’t. Cuz they claim their cause is “just” and breaking eggs is necessary to make that omelette, right? Funny thing is about all leftist regimes in history, though, from Lenin to Mao to Castro to Chavez (and now it’s increasingly starting to look like Dems and Big Tech dominance here in the States) … so many, many eggs are broken. But there’s never any omelette. Except for the thugs on top of the heap, of course. The elite always get the goodies.

Leftists break all the rules. Sooner or later, their victims learn. Sooner or later the abused partner has had enough, especially after being told for years that “your behavior MAKES me hit you.” The frantic vitriol and backlash when the abused partner finally starts fighting back sure is something to behold, isn’t.

However, to answer your question, I do denounce violence and mob rule, and no Trump supporter should EVER have stormed into the Capitol. The protest against the stolen election should have remained peaceful. Ghandi and Martin Luther King’s methods of protest are the way to go. Follow the rule of law.

        1. “Should I denounce people on the right with the same vigour that leftists denounce people on the left when they engage is these actions, lance? Should I respect Biden with the same amount of respect that leftists have for Trump, lance?”

No, Ann, I’m saying you should strive to hold yourself to a higher standard. We all should.

          1. “I’m saying you should strive to hold yourself to a higher standard. We all should.” – Hence the last paragraph in my comment. Rule of lawful and peaceful protest. Absolutely.
I would add, when all else has failed and there is no other way to escape the grey and awful life and oppression that leftist regimes inflict on us ordinary people in every country where they’ve ever ruled — when all legal means (like elections and courts) fail, because the elections are stolen and the judges are all either leftist or bullied into leftist decisions out of fear and blackmail — we need to secede and form a new country that goes back to government under the Constitution as intended by our Founders. Hopefully this can happen peacefully. Hopefully they just let us go. I mean, they do hate us so very very much. Wouldn’t they be happy if we just peacefully went?

          2. Moral relativism does not exist. Mao had ZERO “morality” behind his Cultural Revolution… NONE. It was all about POWER and “getting even” with the prior elites. Pol Pot? Nope. Not a speck of morality in executing “intellectuals” who wore reading glasses. Stalin? Puhleeze. Adolph? Hell … he built a fabulous Germany with the autobahn and whatnot … so he must have been “moral” … Right? WRONG!

So when President Harris drives every American into energy poverty, and takes away their means to work by seizing their F150 pickup trucks … not to mention seizing their guns … it will all be “moral” … because she will be “saving the planet” and eliminating the “health crisis” of gunshot wounds. No. It will all be 100% IMMORAL as basic human rights are SEIZED and ended … “all for your own good”.

            Moral Relativism is Pure EVIL

          3. When a government becomes the oppressor it is every man’s right to remove that government from power no matter what the cost. The second amendment is there for just that reason. The two most important documents ever written, if you will, are the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. Living within what is written there makes for a peaceful and prosperous and free life. Those who think otherwise are those who would enslave you.

          4. The two most important documents ever written, if you will, are the Bible and the U.S. Constitution.

Don’t forget the Constitutions granddaddy, the Magna Carta.

      5. Are people sure that the violence was instigated by Trump supporters? I would suggest the jury is still out. A sceptic might argue that the political theatre was to distract the public from the serious discussion in the chamber and it certainly changed the headlines. Reichstag fire/Gulf of Tonkin incident perhaps?

        1. I’ve wondered this myself. Excellent insight, Karin. Reichstag Fire.
The left certainly is following the Reichstag Fire pattern by using this Capitol Hill incident to force through frightful liberty-depriving stuff.
And yes, the arguments on the floor, discussing voter fraud and laying out clear reasons for contesting the election, were completely forgotten and superceded by the actions of the crowd.

          1. Agreed. Divide and rule political theatrics. Hope this blog doesn’t get obliterated. It’s one of the few sane refuges left.

        2. Busloads of antifa/blm arrived just in time to begin the actual carnage. Nobody knows that except conservatives who get news from alternative sources. Rather than storm the capital, perhaps more attention should be paid to the networks and major corporations.

      6. Those so called Trump protestors were ANTIFA sonny….Many of them challenged and beat up by Trump supporters. But like a typical lefitst…only the news YOU deem worthy is used as “evidence”.

Anyone thinking that this X number of 100 thousands march on DC would NOT be infiltrated by this FILTHY COMMUNIST SCUM (AntiFa) + their comrades in arms BLM….?? has their head firmly secured in their rectum. A tactic they have used on numerous occasions. This one likely presenting the Greatest Opportunity for them to do their shit and have it blamed on TRUMP….in which they succeeded.

SAID Filth = 1936 Ernst Rohms SA. 1000%
SAID Media=Josef Goebells Ministry of Propaganda
        Commenters such as you=USEFUL IDIOTS.

Suff your TDS …I, along with most here tire of it.

      7. Remember how the Nazis got everybody worked up and hateful over the fire at the Reichstag? Same formula is working on you like a charm, lance. It turned out to be a very effective way to consolidate power, which is what social media is doing today with these bannings. What’s your issue really? This will all be over in two weeks.

Why are you enabling the disappearing of political opponents?

      8. lance:

If you’re Kate’s lance and not a handle-usurper, I’d love to be a fly on the wall near your breakfast table.

      9. Did the American Revolution happen by sending letters back and forth?

How bout that war of 1812?

Yes, sometimes violent revolution happens. Funny, when the right is organized and motivated for it, they win.

It’s the GOPe, like their northern cousins in the CPC, who seem to be happy to lose all the time.

  2. Kate, in case that your platform suddenly disappears…
It was/is great knowing you and this fantastic people around what are great to know and talk with.

  3. Remember this past summer when the BLM/Antifa mobs tried to torch the 200 year old church across the street from the White House and the media cheered them on. Seriously – F these people.

The media hates the term “enemy of the people”. I suggest we all use that phrase now more than ever when referring to the media.

  4. Seen on Twitler:

“Watching the left orgasm over the government’s use of power on private citizens is the return to normalcy we were promised.”

  5. The mayhem done by the fascists of antifa and black lives matters is very much resembling the activities of the national socialists of Germany and communists in the countries of central Europe of middle to late of the past century.
It is as though a plan of the education system to omit those events.
    Just to let you know.
You can check it out on your own.

    1. I agree. The tactics of infiltration by bad actors paid by nebulous unseen hands isn’t new. I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of that. The ‘unseen hands’ want us all distrusting and snitching on each other so we can’t organise a viable opposition to their authoritarian plans. The cesspool won this round but the history of the Soviet Union demonstrated that the war on the human desire for freedom of thought and action won’t be won.

  6. I hope this catches on when Biden is sworn in…
    “Fake President Biden”
    Sounds catchy enough to me.

  7. BTW,,, not only DOESN’T the media use the term “rioters,” they also never use the term “far-left,” in fact they rarely even use the term left, or leftwing. By not using the words left or leftwing, the general public(the victims of their propaganda) begin to accept them as centrists, middle of the road, mainstream.
They do however love to use “rightwing,” and now, especially more than ever, “rightwing extremists.”
This, subliminally, makes everyone on the right, far from being centrists.
This is how they made all the tranny crap mainstream and acceptable. They made it appear that the centrists endorsed it, and it was only being rejected by rightwingers, those fringe, close minded, extremists.
That’s how it’s done, little words mean so much.

    1. To the socialist, fascists and communists being extremists in the full sense of the word anything in the center looks extreme.

  8. “They stormed the halls, looting property and assaulting law enforcers, all in service of an absurd political demand: reversing the outcome of an election.”
Was that what this was about? The absurd political demand to reverse an election? Andy, Andy. Andy…. you too have failed in your journalistic integrity. Have you not been listening? We don’t want the election overturned. We want the Swing State’s elections and vote counts to be audited, evidence of election tampering to be presented and debated between those citizen investigators and those in charge of the elections in these states; in front of the Congress and Senate; and we want it all to be transparent. Then and only then will the election be overturned.

Also Andy, stop calling us “Trump enthusiasts”, or “Trump supporters” or “Pro Trump” , or “Trump allies” like your are spitting out “Mr. Scooooooge.” Like we are part of a cult, or religious sect ,or nutty hicks, or country bumpkins, or as my brother says, “Yoooockles!” Naw Andy, think of us as the Anti-Party; Anti Hillary, Anti Joe Biden, Anti any politician who has been around long enough to have so much baggage of lying, plagiarism, corruption, incompetence and moral rot that even the opposition research of the Democratic Party found it.

Andy, this last part is to help you in your journalistic career; I assume you went through public schools. you were taught history does not matter – they lied, it does. If you had known the history of Joe “Let me sniff your hair and whisper things in your ear” Biden you would know he has been running for president his whole career. Every time there was an opportunity for Joe to get into the Democratic Party nominating process he was there like a leech. Guess what? The opposition research of the other Democratic candidates would trot out his plagiarism, his lying and his public treatment of women (See above.). Not the Republican Party opposition research, the Democratic Party. Even the Democratic Party would not let him get close to the nomination. Which by the way gave him a likability rating as a politician of just above a snake. Because of this – most people older than you – have heard all about Joe “Let me sniff your hair and whisper things in your ear” Biden. So for us older than you, would you again explain to us, how Joe won the election fair and square and how our concerns are baseless and unfounded?

    1. Very nice outline – and I fully agree. Stop referring to those of us who support Trump and his policies as ‘members of a cult’ and so on. This situation isn’t about Trump; it’s about the powers of the People – to govern their own nation and themselves in that nation rather than being dominated and ruled by a bunch of networked corrupt Elitists.

      1. DeMarxist jingoistic jargon covers that. Remember, Antifa is anti-fascist, so anti-Trump, so their violence is also his fault.
And Brandon Straka the gay organizer, like Trump, incites violence, so must be banned.
They can’t let him go, they have nothing else. They are truly addicted to their Trump hatred.
Not Nancy Pelosi herself, shown here, or Maxine Waters, or Donny Deutsch, or a host of direct exhortations to violence.

Only Trump’s “incitements” cause violence. This is what DeMarxists and their fellow travelers in social media expect us to believe. Half of the voters in the nation, by virtue of their vote for Trump, are personna non grata on the internet?

Now the internet autocrats move against their competition, Parler. They haven’t even been sworn in yet.
Their pillaging has yet to begin. Now looms the spectacle of a second Trump impeachment hearing, equally fruitless.
But that how Democrats rule, I mean roll. His treatment is what millions of Americans can expect is their dissidence shows.
They investigate not legislate, mollify their identity communities, and cash in with influence peddling.
Americans need to know what they voted for.
Canadians seem oblivious too to doubling of federal debt and diminishing of their freedom and economic security.

        1. Canadians only get what our media and governments put out.
One journalist that I listened to was 100% believed the media and experts should all be listened to and can’t wait for his vaccination so things will go back to normal.
He only reads the newspaper and the media on TV.
          He is a retired journalist.
So anything not coming from the government and mainstream media is fake news to him.

      2. Did it ever occur to you that this is exactly the response a cultist would give? The main feature of a cult is that you don’t know you’re in a cult. Of course another feature is that you can’t be talked out of a cult so obviously my comment is pointless anyway but oh well.

        1. Your comment doesn’t make any sense. After all, using your ‘main feature’ – you could be a member of a cult. After all, as you say- the main feature is that you don’t know that you are in a cult. And of course, it would equally be useless to discuss this with you. For the same reason; you are in a cult.

          1. I absolutely could. But I’m not the one encouraging armed insurrection against the US government in order to bring a reality TV star into power, so…

          2. Armed insurrection? Date and time that Trump called for it. No dog whistles, no “we all know what he meant”, date and time. Or stop making things up, you’re embarrassing yourself.

    2. Andy Ngo wrote this? I’m shocked. Never thought he would trade his principles to keep his twitter, Instagram, fb pages. He will be cancelled and after the article his supporters won’t care enough to defend him. He has misjudged the zeitgeist.

    3. Indeed. We Trump supporters are derided as willing victims of a “personality cult”. Rubbish. I have said all the way back in 2016 that I didn’t care for Trump’s personality and thought his “brand” was garish schlock. But he was the ONLY viable vessel for conservative VICTORY after 8-long years of a Marxist Revolutionary in the White House.

McCain. Romney. China-Mitch. Squishy Lindsay Graham … we conservatives have been POORLY represented … UNTIL … Trump. And we will gladly adopt a new standard-bearer for American conservatism … Freedom, Liberty, and adherence to our Constitution. Does that mean I am joining the rats abandoning Trump’s ship like it were a toxic fire? Hardly. PDJT will remain our touchstone for a return of traditional American values. I expect he will remain an essential part of our movement … even if that isn’t as the pinnacle of leadership.

      1. I’ve been wondering who has the financial clout to take on the tech and social media oligarchs?
Trump, of course. The leftist have provided a market signal of poor service to roughly half of Americans.
Of course they will try to shut him down and in doing so will continue to injure their already vastly overrated businesses,.
It will be an epic battle. His Presidency may just be Chapter 1. With his media savvy and experience, this is a no brainer.

  9. Not content in stealing the election with illegal votes Pelosi and her gang want to grind Trump into the dust along with us right wingers. I hope Trump has super protection for him and his family as I believe he will need it.

    1. I’ve been listening to some of the interviews in last night’s feed of The John Batchelor Show and some of the guests advocate Trump resigning, lest he be sacked. One even said he should have done so months ago (yeah, another “orange man bad” fan).

Yup, there’s a lot of “Et tu, Brute?” going on right now. Ben Garrison got it right:

      https://grrrgraphics.com/the-backstabbers-2/

But Barry O’Bummer, who was clearly corrupt and a lousy occupant of the White House…. Well, he was the paragon of virtue, wasn’t he?

      1. I just heard Ben Sasse’s comments about PDJT. Sasse is a highly intelligent, extremely well-spoken IDIOT … Sasse is the poster child for WHY Trump was elected … and will STILL be supported by We The People.

  10. Joe the Uniter came out to calm the masses by claiming the Capital police would of reacted much differently, much more forcefully if the group were Black which was repeated ad nauseam throughout the night by the highly paid race baiters on cable news. Putting aside those same police protected your skinny ass for 47 years Joe, the last time BLM tried to scale the walls of the White House they had a fuckING street named after them.

  11. When Kate gets de platformed, I’ll be looking to help out a Hot Chick on an RD 350 LC if ever she is broke down at the side of the road or out of 2 stroke oil. The best Headline writer there is.

  12. We should stop referring to the “SWAMP”. It is disrespectful of swamps. It should be called by its proper name “CESSPOOL”. If this is done we can lump all the dumbocrats, Media, blm, antifa etc into one title. This we can steal from the Chinese (they are no stranger to theft) the CCP, the Communist Cesspool Party. We have a bunch of them in Canada, Lib, NDP, Green I could also add CBC/CTV/Global but they are all part of the CCCP. Work on the extra C.

    1. You’re not alone. I’ve spent the last few days, but especially since yesterday, dearly wishing I could vomit up the red pill.

  13. The globalists bankroll the big men with guns (by financing government debt) and the leftist mobs (out of petty cash).

That is why leftist mobs are allowed to raise Cain unchecked and any attempt at a real workers’ and peasants’ rebellion can expect to be crushed without mercy by armies that outgun them by several orders of magnitude.

You want them to take you seriously? Ask the Israelis to help you build a suitcase nuke to be set off in front of Jack Dorsey’s palace. Nothing short of the prospect of being blown to radioactive ash finally got the bastards to recognize the right of the Jews to even exist, never mind prosper.

    1. You said it. Soros and his son will continue to bankroll the downfall of the U.S. and work towards the Davos “Great Reset”. With no conservative billionaires or politicians taking steps to combat this, I wonder if there’s something major happening that we don’t know.

  14. The republicans this week left themselves wide open by taking the bait from the left, who very effectively used this event to change the narrative on them.

The purpose was the hearing and airing legitimate election grievances (dead people voting, big tech providing hundreds of millions of dollars in digital marketing services to Dems which should be illegitimate campaign contributions and many other issues) .

By the end of the week, we were back to what always seems to happen, the Dems get away without having to answer for their misdeeds and rino republicans falling all over themselves to apologize.

Nobody thinks this election was legit.

Now we have Joe Biden (10% for the big man) taking a really strong , almost dictorial tone.

Why such difference Joe and Kamala? Why openly supported rioters from Antifa and BLM and contribute to a fund to bail them out, but have such hatred and disdain for those that riot due to election concerns?

And why is it so unreasonable to ask for an audit of election results that have so many signs of fraud?

  15. COMMENTS SUGGESTION

Even when replying, include the poster’s name at the start. The indentation thing doesn’t seem reliable.

e.g. if the weasel comment was meant for lance

    lance, you pathetic weasel

FWIW, I don’t really like the reply thread. If a thread has a 100 comments I don’t like having to scan the whole thread for a late reply.

    1. “COMMENTS SUGGESTION”

I vote for whichever formatting scheme most confuses and aggravates Me No Dhimmi.
