  1. In reference to the ‘Apples and Trees’ thread, I suspect that few except the really politically tuned in will even notice the PM’s meltdown.

My daughters, 43 and 45 respectively, as well as one son-in-law, were over for dinner tonight and asked if I knew anything about the half-dozen ‘Sons of Odin’ who were publicly objecting to a ‘tent city’ in our town and the lack of enforcement of repeated court orders. I of course, did know of them and explained that they were not actually white supremacists and/or Nazis.

I then asked them about Antifa and their ‘actions’ over the last number of years. Their response? Who is Antifa? God help us. These are University educated (Yeah, I know. There’s the problem.) adults, one with a Masters and all in professional positions.

Myself, I quit university after two years back in the early seventies, because I could see it was a crock that provided no real value to me. Sure, I’ve got twenty plus years on my kids but a lot less formal education. But I’ll stack up my knowledge of the world (and human nature) against them anytime.

    Who is Antifa? OMG.

    1. I have a nephew who was very upset with President Trump for repealing Net Neutrality. Why wouldn’t I want neutrality? Same when I told him that Antifa we’re just fascists. He says no they’re ANTIFA. Can’t I read? They say their not. Right in their name. Duh.

    This is big.
The NATO member with the 2nd largest armed forces, Turkey has a M.B. leader who
thinks he can go toe to toe with Pres. Donald J. Trump. This because Erdogan is an orthodox
Muslim, who seems to think this because he has the largest armed forces in Europe and has
    purchased a Russian S-400 anti-ballistic missile system.

Turkey’s economy will be President Trump’s first target. That has already begun. It’s currency has
dropped precipitously. Attempted resurrecting the Ottoman Caliphate corpse … this will get
    interesting.

NATO Europe may have to decide if it’s willing to fend off them off at the Gates of Vienna, yet again. Or not?

    1. Turkey was a secular state for decades despite its majority muslim population. So what has changed? Not just the election of Erdogan. The rise of Intolerant Islam, of Muhammad inspired terrorism, of global jihad, of sharia law, of mass muslim migration. This has lead to the minority of the filthy salafists gaining power over the majority of muslims who may be moderates. It is happening everywhere they have spread. The imams, the leaders, the proselytizers within Islam are big-time believers. The hard core minority is in control in Turkey and we are seeing pockets within western, liberal democracies of this control spreading.
Half-wits like Trudeau and liberals in general think that it is “intolerance” that causes it even though all he and his ‘team’ ever do is try to control the majority through group-think policy, numbing speeches and insipid legislation.
The irony is that in order for the lefty feel-good traitors to survive their abandonment of individual liberty and freedom of speech that has in fact empowered them, the right will have to soldier the burden and deal with the crop of madness that has been sown by these delusional apologists.

    1. Not buying it; it’s just overconfidence on the part of Messrs. MacDonald et al.

Maybe he just checked the Nanos poll with his beloved Grits 4 points ahead of the Conservatives.

I haven’t forgotten his 15 election kid gloves treatment of Justin Trudeau, and ridiculous Duffy attack on PM Harper.

I don’t watch their fake by omission news, nor their cabal cohorts at CTV and Global News.

They will all fall into line like the collectivists Grits they all are, just in time for the 19 election (assuming no snap call this fall).

    1. Trained? There is no requirement to be trained. It’s just driving. He blew an effing STOP sign. Are you telling me he wasn’t trained to stop at STOP signs?

      1. No, scar, I’m questioning his training on a semi, as perhaps with, as I suspect, his regular class 5 driver’s licence, he may not have been familiar with how to brake a big rig. As you know, there is a BIG difference between piloting 50 tons of truck with air brakes and a Honda civic.

And I question WHERE he was trained, if at all, on semis, because certain ethnics are well known to circumvent regulations to get one of theirs working for one of their companies.

These are the inconvenient questions I expect the media to ask and investigate, instead we are left with a lot of assumptions because they didn’t do their job.

      1. Yes,and again, that article which I also read, doesn’t mention anything about what CLASS of licence he held,or where he receuved his training fora Class 1, semi licence with air brake certification.

It is well known as I stated before, that certain ethnic s are notorious for circumventing regulations to pave the way for their fellows to get work.
We has a horrendous crash of a gravel truck that ran down a hill and crashed into a van carrying a family, here in B.C. a few years ago. It happened at the Horseshoe Bay B.C. ferry terminal, there were multiple deaths.
The truck was found to have insufficient brakes working and the driver’s defence was that he had the mental age of a twelve year old so wasn’t responsible.
So how in hell did he get a Class 1 driver;s licence with air brake certification? Answer: he didn’t have the qualifications to drive that or any other vehicle, but bribed his like minded fellow ethnic driver’s test examiner to obtain his licence. it’s one of those dirty little secrets no one likes to talk about lest they be accused of racism.

    2. Please correct me if I am mistaken, but isn’t ‘the semi was in the intersection’ about the sole piece of forensic accident evidence the RCMP have released on this tragedy? Have they ever openly confirmed that he did not stop before entering the intersection?

      Just asking…

      1. How would the semi get in the intersection with enough kinetic energy to cause a crash of that magnitude. Even if he did stop at the intersection, he then must have proceeded into the intersection when it was not safe to do so. Not sure how much more forensic evidence is needed to draw conclusions.

    1. Wear Western clothes. Someone has to repair Turdeau’s damage to foreign relations that are at an all time low. Didn’t Turdeau say Canada’s back.

  4. Could have had Max

Nearly half of Canadians want less immigration. The interesting thing is this is across party lines. Just like the GOPe our stupid party, the Conservatives will just ignore this issue to avoid being called racist even though no matter what we do the press/liberal party will claim it. Just wait until Scheer hears about this.

    “The Stupid Party

The score after this morning’s Liberal party room meeting in Canberra: Malcolm Turnbull 1, Good Sense 0. How does ‘Bill Shorten, PM’ roll off the tongue? Borders opened to herds of prospective Labor voters. Electricity prices even more ruinous than now. Every fashionable theory about gender fluidity enshrined as law….

ship of foolsMalcolm Turnbull survives as Prime Minister and Liberal leader, re-endorsed by a party room vote 0f 48-35.

So there you have it: an impotent and empty suit of a leader who cannot muster the votes to see his own agenda passed. A leader who tried repeatedly to join the Labor Party, which had the wit to send him packing.

What next? The near certainty of electoral oblivion next year, preceded by months of instability and, if history is any guide, an inevitable further attempt to oust the man who lacks the decency to resign of his own accord.

This is your Liberal Party, conservatives, what’s left of it. Bereft of courage, abjuring principle, a’feared of a harsh word from the ABC and cravenly determined to stay the course that has charted 38 atrocious Newspolls in a row.

Almost three years ago, in September, 2015, I wrote these words at Quadrant Online to mark Turnbull’s ascent to The Lodge. They are more true now than then:

I can’t vote for him, must refuse to reward such treachery with a ballot-box endorsement. No doubt many others feel the same, and perhaps there are even some in Parliament who still believe that honesty is at the core of conservatism, that chicanery born of presumption and ambition is no winning quality.

If so, if members of such an endangered species still exist within the Liberals’ party room, here’s a suggestion: The door is over there. Leave, right now, and leave for good. We need a party that believes in something more substantial than the Turnbull chimera.

I want a new party and I want it now.”

  6. Scheer going to India is a stupid stupid idea. Trudeau and India are already intertwined into everyone’s memory. Tossing the CPC, and a few well chosen coverage moments by CBC will confuse the average low info voter and the harm Trudeau did will be forgotten. Scheer is as dim as Old Joe Clark was and has not a single political instinct in his bones. I would not off the man a junior cabinet position, let alone the PM chair.

    1. I agree. India is a nice doo doo puddle that Justin stepped in. Why not keep that picture central in Canadian minds?

“It would take a ‘miracle’ to save Malcolm Turnbull”

“The most important thing that happened in Australian politics on Monday was that a prime minister conceded he could not pass legislation through the House of Representatives.

“We propose bills in the House when we believe we can carry them and so at the moment we don’t have, because it is a one-seat majority and that’s a fact of life, we don’t have enough support to do that,” Malcolm Turnbull told reporters.”

    1. I received yet another e-mail message about the EPA’s funding from the American Association for the Advancement of Science earlier today. What the AAAS wanted me to do was sign some sort of petition denouncing Trump (who else?) for the cuts he’s imposing on that agency. (So that is what’s meant by “advancing” science….)

I suspect, though, the real reason behind it is to convince Trump to leave the funding hog trough in place so that all those researchers can waddle up to it and have all sorts of money so that they don’t have to go work for a living, let alone figure out how to make do with that they’ve got on hand. (Gee, and here I thought all those researchers were so smart….)

  8. Riding Mass Transit is like inviting THEIVES into your living room …

    https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/BART-dogged-by-fare-cheats-may-replace-all-600-13166401.php

So BART needs to replace all its ‘hoppable’ gates? But aren’t the Mass Transit enthusiasts (read: Marxist/Socialist/Communists) the same ones who heap effusive praise on the ‘experimental’ restaurants that provide meals on ‘the honor system’ … payment optional?

It’s not enough that the elderly and poor already receive heavily discounted fares via their ‘Clipper Cards’ … but everyone deserves a free ride? Or not. Not if BART (the government) is losing revenue.
