Myself, I quit university after two years back in the early seventies, because I could see it was a crock that provided no real value to me. Sure, I’ve got twenty plus years on my kids but a lot less formal education. But I’ll stack up my knowledge of the world (and human nature) against them anytime.

No, scar, I’m questioning his training on a semi, as perhaps with, as I suspect, his regular class 5 driver’s licence, he may not have been familiar with how to brake a big rig. As you know, there is a BIG difference between piloting 50 tons of truck with air brakes and a Honda civic.

How would the semi get in the intersection with enough kinetic energy to cause a crash of that magnitude. Even if he did stop at the intersection, he then must have proceeded into the intersection when it was not safe to do so. Not sure how much more forensic evidence is needed to draw conclusions.

I received yet another e-mail message about the EPA’s funding from the American Association for the Advancement of Science earlier today. What the AAAS wanted me to do was sign some sort of petition denouncing Trump (who else?) for the cuts he’s imposing on that agency. (So that is what’s meant by “advancing” science….)
I suspect, though, the real reason behind it is to convince Trump to leave the funding hog trough in place so that all those researchers can waddle up to it and have all sorts of money so that they don’t have to go work for a living, let alone figure out how to make do with that they’ve got on hand. (Gee, and here I thought all those researchers were so smart….)
