The picture at the link with a Japanese coin next to the bug for scale should have been enough.
Bringing a live uncontrolled pest to the conference is something that only and official would think of doing.
So the tics have spotted fever, eh? That’s one of the diseases Canada weaponized during it’s biological weapons program in WWII.
Beast…. very funny.
As a regular hiker through the trees and grasses of the S. Okanagan, I check for ticks often. Last summer I found one of the little buggers on the back of my neck, right at the hairline. My responsible neighbors also check their dogs after a romp in the surrounding areas.
I believe the major danger here is Lyme Disease, though. It’s serious stuff. Better not to let the Japanese know this though, we need ALL their tourism dollars to help survive these socialist BC governments.
with a government story like this everyday , why do so many people insist the most inept ,inefficient and overpaid people come save us everytime something goes wrong
Bone-headed move.
Look up the “bucket incident”. Japan…
Lived in Estevan for 20 years. My daughter says there are 2 seasons there. Ticks and blizzards..
