Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

i know there’s no terrible confederate flag, so… another story
you won’t see on cbc…
“A teenager from a Christian family has been beaten to
death by Muslim classmates at the MC Model Boys
Government High School in Pakistan, allegedly for
drinking from the same water cooler as them.”

It’s time to let India do what it must.
If there is no sense of duty in ANY country, what, then are its values? It takes a lot for an immigrant to renounce his former life and embrace a new one. It is a lot of self-reflection and even personal courage to do so. That modern generations don’t see or care what previous generations have had to do is just plain pathetic.
Brilliant retort J.Burton … simply brilliant!
I keep asking my wife (who has a heart for each and every poor child on the planet) … “how many of the world’s poor should be admitted to the US?” Give me a number. 1.3 million LEGAL immigrants admitted to the US each year isn’t enough? OK then, how many? And why isn’t the same energy (and heartfelt charity) focused on their countries of origin? Why not help CHANGE their own lands into successes equal to the USA? What is the UN doing to help their countries become better sh*tholes than the (evidently) awful sh*tholes they are? Answer-nothing (except to nick some global warming taxes for redistribution to the poor).
” “how many of the world’s poor should be admitted to the US?” ”
How many refugees should be admitted to Canada? See answer below.

“rizwan asks… How many refugees should be admitted to Canada?”
let’s be a little more precise riz…
“how many unvetted, undocumented adherents of a violence-prone medieval theocracy
should be allowed to jump ahead of immigrants who choose to follow the established
laws & procedures for immigration to this country?

and i’ll confess right up front, 25,000 wasn’t
the number i was considering.

Where can I find ancient documents that a founding premise of the United States is that it is a place for immigrants to come and start over?
I don’t ever recall reading such a thing. That wouldn’t be one of those liberal lies? I think North America needs an immigration break of a generation or two to assimilate the people we have.
Islam does not create ignorant violent thugs. It attracts them but it does not make them. It is a mistake to attribute Islam as the cause. It is the effect.
INTERVENTIONISM, NOT ISLAM, IS THE PROBLEM
President Obama, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and others of the mainstream interventionist ilk continue to debate whether the terrorist problem that America is facing is due to radical Muslims or regular Muslims. Depending on where they come out on that question, their solutions inevitably encompass more destruction of American liberty and privacy, such as with gun control, immigration controls, or surveillance schemes.
There is one big problem with their analysis, however: The terrorism problem America has been facing even before 9/11 isn’t due to Islam, Muslims, or the Koran. Instead, the anti-American terrorism problem is rooted in U.S. interventionism in the Middle East and Afghanistan, specifically the ongoing death and destruction that the U.S. military death machine has been wreaking in those parts of the world on an ongoing basis for the past 25 years.
Why is that distinction important? Because gun control, immigration controls, and secret mass surveillance are not going to solve the problem. They’re only going to bring about a greater suppression of liberty, privacy, and prosperity for the American people.

I gotta admit, I cheered inside reading that. +1 here.
If Islam ‘attracts’ them, then how does that explain those who were born into the ‘religion’ and have known nothing else? They have not been attracted, they have been cultivated.
I’ve posted this before but now might be a good time to resurrect it.

This video should be shown to every Liberal voter in Canada.
And here I thought the American Revolution was fought over what the American rebels claimed were “The Intolerable Acts”.
Silly me.
Good question…
Likely the first thing that comes to people’s minds is the poem on the Statue of Liberty.
Out of curiosity I looked up the poem; pretty late in US History.

But what inspired that? Immigrants had been coming long before it was written

Ooh sick burn! You totally destroyed that strawman!
There is no evidence that the US is acting as an ‘economic pressure valve’ for Mexico, and even if there was it’s neither here nor there. Open borders are part and parcel of the American ideal. It built America.

This is also nonsense. The US dropped far more bombs on Laos and there’s no suicide bombers coming out of there. Israel faces the least amount of problems from the places it occupies the most or defeated the hardest.
Yep … I would assume that the 50% of Mexican CITIZENS who are living below the poverty line (Mexico’s poverty line) also live in straw houses. Straw house they have gladly burned before catching a boxcar heading to the USA.

“Open borders are part and parcel of the American ideal. It built America.”
You can’t combine open borders with a big government welfare state. Open borders in the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries meant, Yup, you can come in, long as you aren’t sick, but you’re on your own when you get here. Go find yourself some land, build your own home, make your own way. You’ve got you & yours to help you, and that’s that. You don’t make it, go find a church and hope they’ll take some pity on you.
Today open borders seems to mean let in all the degenerates, let them all suck on welfare and countless other tax-funded dependency schemes, those of us already living here, paying taxes, get the g-d shaft, and if we dare to question this asinine arrangement we get labeled racists.

well, riz… you had some credibility until
unme jumped on your bandwagon.

You are not paying Attention! Since Trump declared that all ISIS will be Killed.. and required Supreme vetting of all those entering the USA, barring those from terrorist Countries… What has happened?
Note: SCOTUS has backed Trump
1. Young USA & Canadian Muslims have not been rushing to join the ISIS Caliphate in Iraq or Syria..Death is a show stopper…
2. Iraq has retaken territory & is well on the way to destroying ISIS
3. Syrian forces have retaken some of their major Cities. The end of the civil war is near..Multiple anti Gov’t forces are declining
The ISIS hard core terrorists, who are running away, won’t be coming to the USA, nor will those traitor Citizens that joined the caliphate
Body bag counts “are” part of the final solution…
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”
~Emma Lazarus
Does the above quote come from the Declaration of Independence? No.
Does the quote come from the United States Constitution? No.
Is it a founding premise of the United States of America? No.
It is the inscription found on the Statue of Liberty dated 1886.
The United States was founded on July 4th 1776, with the Declaration of Independence. 110 years earlier
The Declaration of Independence is THE founding premises of the U.S.A. In the Declaration there is nothing about immigration whatsoever.
Emma Lazarus was Jewish and became a committed communist when Russia was deporting Jews… She along with a Communist Group of NYC wanted America to admit these Jews… They where successful in getting 1.3 million Jews into America….. But the false narrative has taken legs
Note: Multiple poets & writers submitted their works supporting the building of the pedestal for the SOL..Emma Lazarus was just one of those.
The NYC Communist group backed the Communist Lenin & Stalin (1917) that took control of Russia… They disbanded in the 1960’s when treason became an issue….
“You can’t combine open borders with a big government welfare state.”
Yes you can. Immigration is correlated with less welfarism, not more.
@Slap Shot: all of those things were already happening before Turmp became president.
