I have a friend from the Arctic, Inuvik he has been saying that the place is crummy lousy with poley bears for years.
I mean if Lenord De Craphead can fly a stylist thousands of miles to do his little eyebrows……….

But what about the pictures of polar bears dying of disease that warmists say are starving? Without ice, are they still dying of disease? Hudson’s Bay has over 3 months of open water and there are lots of photos of fat bears on land. Doesn’t Hudson’s Bay have the most thriving population? Maybe that’s because they have the most nutritious vegetation for summer grazing. They are getting off the ice as fruit and roots are maturing. They are as little as 100,000 years descended from grizzly bears who are primarily herbivorous.

I won’t belabor his gingerness as an explanation for such stupidity, but simply ask what he thinks of the RECORD-BREAKING snow in the Sierra this year ? Or the above-average snowfall last year ? Or the MASSIVE, record-breaking snowpack in 2011. I would ask Shaun to please point to ANY 10-year span of time in record-keeping history and show me the time when snowfall was “constant” and “consistent” year on year. Because it NEVER has been. California’s Mediterranean climate is variable for a myriad of reasons … all of which blow-in from the Pacific Ocean. Some years we have BIG snows, some years not. There is NO climate “crisis”.
But it doesn’t surprise me when when the “science” of global warming is built on nothing more than anecdotal impressions from a winter skateboarder. Or “science” based on ONE weepy-looking photo of a Polar Bear clinging to a summer-melted iceberg. Never mind that every true-believing global warmist is ignorant of the fact that Polar Bears are excellent swimmers and can easily navigate 30 miles of summer melted open ocean to find the next ice floe. That NATURE has already equipped the Polar Bear to cope with eternally VARIABLE ice packs. Smh … as always.
The CAGW hysteria isn’t about climate, science, or survival of species although that helps when milking the superficially educated masses for money and votes. It is about the spreading of fear and guilt to empower the “enlightened” to rule over the masses, to silence blasphemers, to limit access to energy, to subjugate all human activity to the state, ending liberty for all but the elite. For some of the high priests of the green theology, it is ultimately about actively reducing populations of our species.
yup. Worked in Rankin Inlet a few years ago. Seen & heard the same. Was surprised to see a couple polar bear hides drying on porch rails around town. Was told they got too close or into town. Hides were raffled off among members of the local hunters group to prevent abuse.
A fellow I worked with mentioned his cousin got one. Turned it into a pair of pants. I thought he was kidding but apparently polar bear pants are great for use on long caribou hunts!

Kenji, polar bears have been tracked to swimming distances of 420 MILES, not kilometers,though the average seems to be in the 90 mile range.They float,they don’t sink,and are almost tireless.
In the Arctic,they would be very likely to reach land or an ice floe.

Like all global warming hysteria, the truth doesn’t even remotely resemble the narrative.
Geeze … the articles I’ve read assigned a rather modest range for the Polar Bears ! According to the REAL science (actual tracking devices) it is apparent that NO Polar Bear will ever die trying to reach the “mainland” … where they will snack to their hearts content on dog teams and careless humans.

I remember waiting to land in Eskimo Point while a bear was shot and removed from the runway. Have also had to shoo them off beaches and tundra ridges that I was landing on when I used to fly tundra tires. There are plenty of bears along the Hudson Bay coast. The years I worked that area of the country, passenger requests to see a polar bear were always filled, sometimes overshooting by a dozen or more bears, you could spot one a minute once the sea ice is gone.
