I’m no longer a Democrat (it’s been many years now), and though on the rarest of occasions I worried I’d made a mistake, Tuesday night watching the shell-shocked faces of the Democrats on the floor of Congress while Donald Trump delivered his magnificent speech, I knew I had made no error. I even wondered what was going on in my head in those isolated moments I doubted myself.
Looks like she should sent to pasture and do something useful.

The media will start hacking apart Trump’s speech and they will look stupid because it was excellent.
My only criticism is that he made Justine look good.

A home run. Haven’t heard a speech like that since Ronald Reagan. I agree with Chis Wallace: With that speech Trump became President to millions who had before the speech never really connected with him. He will gain much deference among the people, and cooperation from his members of Congress.
That is the face of a woman who just took a bite of a big sh1t sandwich.

A home run indeed. It was a speech that spoke to people and gave them hope.
The take away is how many democrats started joining the standing ovations as the speech progressed.
Democrats weren’t the only ones needing to make a fast exit. A truckload of neo-cons also got pwned as well. We all know who they are, RINOs the lot of them, David Frum, Andrew Coyne, and particularly types like William Kristol, David Brooks, Joshua Goldberg, and a host of others from the old Republican intelligentsia.
Chris Wallace was also dead right. First time since Reagan that a POTUS has called out names from the gallery for special recognition.
Which brings my final point. Why was Pelosi so glum? She and her ilk are not worried so much about Trump’s potential failures. She’s terrified that the new administration will succeed and make her and the rest of her cronies look like the feeble, incompetent failures they were in truth.
The Democrats only thought that November 2016 was as bad as it could get for them. With even a reasonable amount of success, this administration and Congress has a chance to banish the leftists from power for half a generation. And the Democrats know it.

Just had time to listen to the entire speech; which on the whole was measured in tone and demeanor and gave it the gravitas that was needed.

I went on FB a few times to see the reactions to the speech. It must have been great, my zombie lefty friends haven’t received their instructions on how they feel about it.
He made the KEY provision of replacing Obamacare… that Insurance will compete across STATE lines….That will in reality separate “Medicaid” from State/Insurance contracts. The States will each have to fund Medicaid & the uninsured from other sources… The Hospitals/Doctors will have a Base price for every procedure and Insurance Costs will drop 5 fold… No more Cadillac pricing….They will have to workout something to fund Medicaid, but that is peanuts compared to the cost to the Nation of the Obamacare administration.
The academia experts have forecast a false future of robots & necessary unemployment… They are as wrong as every past prediction by failed business plans.. Also took note of two points in the speech.
One was the call out juthtin got for the council on women entrepreneurs. The other was the point on other countries getting their defence spending up by 2% of GDP.
On the first if you where the average left winger that reflexively denounces anything Trump says this is code that juthtin is too cooperative with Trump, the second point adds gasoline to that fire as it allows the rabid left to presume juthtin has agreed to this commitment.
Frankly if juthtin did make that agreement thats probably a good thing and he should follow through on it when Morneau tables the budget. However doing so would really split the liberal caucus wouldn’t it.

I have so MANY positive impressions of PRESIDENT Trump’s speech last night … that I have to pare my comments (for now) to ONE single thought … yeah, yeah … hard for me to do. But, I shall try.
Every single POLITICIAN in the House saw their own personal job security fly out the door last night. THAT was the REAL look of SHOCK on their faces. Up till last night, the Political Class remained smug in their belief that ONLY THEY were capable of running, nay RULING, our country. They lectured us how they would PASS the Bill before telling US what was in the Bill. They hid the contents of the TPP, while passing it in the dark of night. Executive orders were issued in direct opposition to the will of the people.
All the way from Nov. 8 till Feb. 28 … the Political Class remained smugly convinced that “the people” who VOTED for an OUTSIDER to restore order to our government … were going to be shown the FOLLY of their petulant vote. They were going to pat the voters on the head and condescend to the electorate as they always have done. They were planning to remind us that ONLY THEY were fit to operate our complex, nuanced, government. The political elite would soon be restored to their “rightful” superiority with Trump’s FAILING presidency and terminally FLAWED personality. However … once-again … President Trump proved them all-wrong, and the PEOPLE all-right. Trump emerged as a STRONG, capable, vehicle of CHANGE last night. Trump is kicking over the money-changers tables … and issuing a message of political salvation for the common man/woman. Trump is preaching LIFE after DEATH of the Political Pharisees.
And every single smug, cud-chewing Dem. and every hesitant GOPe were slack-jawed in dull surprise at the POWER of this President. They all became self-aware last night that they were WRONG … and the PEOPLE were RIGHT. That the PEOPLE had just wrested control of OUR country from the fat, arrogant, Political Pharisees.
I read with a combination of amusement and illness, that Oprah now feels she might be “ready” for a political run. As horrifying as that thought is to me … that the single worst purveyor of FAKE science and pop psychology would attain political power … it speaks to the CHANGE Trump’s election has initiated. Oprah is simply responding to the sea change just issued by the American Voter … that we are returning to the citizen-politician … and dumping career politicians. We the People have just RESTORED order to our government. That WE will no longer be SLAVES to government, but government will SERVE us.

I shed a large chunk of cynicism about modern times when he carefully and clearly said ” to protect our Nation from Radical Islamic Terrorism.” His Muslim ball licking military asked him not to say this explicitly, yet he did. Some hope for humanity has been restored.
