  2. Once California is destroyed, you will buy beachfront for ten cents on the the dollar.
There is always a silver lining…..

  3. O, Sweet Saint of San Francisco, hear my prayer.
San Francisco grapples with growing crime, blight after years of liberal policies

“And in the media, San Francisco’s brand has taken hits, with headlines such as “Why San Francisco is the Worst Place Ever,” “34 percent of Bay Area Residents are Ready to Leave,” and “Complaints of Syringes and Feces Rise Dramatically in SF.”

  4. here is prayer. God, I sincerely hope that Gerry Brown suffers under his policies before the people of California do.

  5. The drought in California is being played off as “Climate Change”. It’s in every press release by the California water authority. The drought is real (though not unusual for California and where “historic” means in the past 50 years). However, it’s also a created problem ….water infrastructure has not been expanded in spite of a large population increase.
Regardless, drought is an issue that every Californian is reminded of regularly…. for a while there, daily. Couple that with the constant drum beat of Climate Change as the cause and you have the perfect political opportunity for all manner of crazy.
When I lived there in the 60s and 70s, the talk was not of California succeeding from the U.S. but rather of creating 2 states, a northern state and a southern state. This was because of the contrasting climates more than anything ….. the south is very arid, the north not so much. “LA Rip Offs Go Home” was common graffiti on the college campus I attended in far northern CA. A look at the political map shows that the blue tide (D) has spread. So it goes…..
Check back in April when the rainy season ends to see if California is still all in with Climate Change.

  6. The entire SW experiences regular drought.
It has been raining east of CA for a coupla seasons now. CA is next and the rains will come just like they have for 1000’s of years.
Most of CA’s water problems are self made.

  7. I am desperately afraid that you are RIGHT. With Jerry Brown parroting Obama’s scorched-earth Eco policies, CA real estate values could plummet. And you know what ? Jerry would be THRILLED with that result. It would be a real liberal two-fer … “zero carbon lifestyles” & “cheap housing for the homeless”. Not to mention fewer people as more and more FLEE the Golden State. With so much of my personal wealth tied up in my CA real estate holdings … Jerry moonbeam could singlehandedly transfer all of that wealth straight into the shitter. No, it won’t “transfer” to anyone … it will just be destroyed. Just like most all liberal do-good, feel-good, policies. Wealth and value … straight into the shitter.

  8. Just a slight correction/amplification to your post. CA’s … 3-YEAR drought … normal and natural due to natural and normal ocean currents and temperature fluctuations. Our latest “drought” was OVER more than a year ago … and this year … we are seeing very early, and very heavy rains/snows … which almost always bodes for a UUuuuge precipitation season. Jerry’s Global-FRAUDing Eco mouthpiece … the DWR (Dept. of Water Resources) is calling this a “5-year drought” … which is as bogus as NOAA’s “2016 Hottest year on record”. CA actually HAS adequate reservoir storage … but current “rules” enacted by a single judge in response to a Sierra Club lawsuit demand the DRAINING of our reservoirs in order (by order) to “save” the Delta Smelt (a foreign, introduced baitfish species).
What baffles me is the ILLogical and Unnatural practice of providing a “constant” flow of water downstream of reservoirs in drought years. If the reservoirs were not built … then WHAT would the water flow be in drought years ? Uh … it would be dramatically reduced. So, the Sierra Club is demanding Unnatural stream flows in drought years. How is THAT natural ? Jerry, and the Eco-fraud Supermajority CA Legislature are doing their best to make CA an EXTREMIST Leftist State. I believe they would love to change our state-name to … Cuba.

  9. @Kenjii: ” If the reservoirs were not built … then WHAT would the water flow be in drought years?”
Interesting question. I’ll bet there is a specific (quantitative)and fairly straight forward answer to that question (but I’m not going to research it). Probably it goes something like this:
The dam of the reservoir blocks the river. Therefore, water flowing into the reservoir = water flowing down river if the reservoir didn’t exist.
My assumption is that the Sierra Club was able to demonstrate/prove that the inflow was X amount and water should be released in proportion. But then my assumption is also that the judge ruled based based on the science and not on the politics and thus could be wrong.

  10. The reservoirs all release water CONSTANTLY in proportion of the inflow (all of which is precisely metered and measured in gpm). Obviously, the reservoirs have overflows which are rarely ever necessary because water is released proportionally. The reservoirs provide necessary flood control for a large part of the Central Valley.
The judge ruled that the reservoirs HAD to DUMP water … even during drought years when the water was needed in storage … to maintain a prescribed barrier to saltwater intrusion into the San Juaquin Delta for the sole purpose of aiding the range of the Delta Smelt. All of this was based on “scientific” guesswork about falling populations of Smelt. Inotherwords, the court decision for Smelt over people was entirely built on “projections” of a Smelt catastrophe. A fish that is not even native to our waters. It’s Eco overreach … aided and abetted by Eco Judges.

  11. Thanks for pointing that out.
You’d think that even an idiot like Jerry Brown could have at least done his homework…
