  3. Higher education is isolated, insular and liberal. Average voters aren’t.
    The isolation and insularity was one thing I noticed while I was a grad student. I’m sure that my last supervisor resented that I used real-world references to my research.
    Then again, what should one expect from people who will investigate anything, no matter how ridiculous or trivial, so long as someone else would pay for it?

  7. I thought that also– That Cohen was more deserving of the Nobel. I loved Leonard Cohen. I can see that his voice would not appeal to some, but he was a brilliant song writer. His lyrics ere pure poetry. The best version of Hallelujah is by Geoff Buckley — just other worldly.

  9. Alan, I wrote directly to the Liberal party complaining that they give no option for dissent, only approval of their spending $650 million on the CBC.
    What a disgusting bunch. Yeah, Canada wouldn’t be the same without the CBC – it would be much better and we’d have significantly more cash in our pockets.
    Nothing but a propaganda arm of the LPC.
