There are some ideas so daft that it takes a very smart person to think of them. Or, in the case of a new proposal to triple Canada’s population to 100 million by the end of the century, it takes an entire committee of smart people.
The authors of this particular idea are the fourteen members of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Advisory Council on Economic Growth, who issued their first report last week.
Yes, they’re insane.

I’m not sure why this is controversial…? With a growth rate of 1.5%, our population would easily hit 100 million before the end of the century. Our current population growth rate of around 1.25% would have us hit 100 million about 3 years after the year 2100.
Show me a Canada in 2100 that has 100 million people and ISN’T a Muslim hellhole as a result. I suspect it can’t be done.
The elites all over the western world effectively want to return to feudalism, where they are the lords and we are the serfs. Just another example how they want to do it.
Insane is too generous a word to use on these people. Are you ready for 20 m sized Toronto? More to it, are you ready for doctor waiting rooms, or emergency rooms, in a city with 20m inhabitants? Objective studies have already found immigration is not a net economic benefit and this is without the massive strain on social and health services. In such a country, given our present model, pretty well all expenditure would be on health care.
The authors rightly point out some European countries that manage without massive immigration, or did at least until recently, How about Switzerland? Seems like a cohesive, peaceable, prosperous place, even one which favours a Christian majority and the values that go with it. But not for Canada, being 2016/2096 and all.

The nineteen ninties was the decade I decided to follow a lifetime dream of an University Degree ant enrolled in the Area University as an Adult Student. Roughly thirty years earlier I undertook a four year night school on Business Management.
One of the Courses in the new endeavour, Canadian Poltics, was conducted by a Professor who practiced the back & forth careers of Acadaemia & Government. His arrangement was apparently through the Liberal Party of Canada.
His specific Speciality with Government Position was China and Canada’s relationship with a Country of a Billion People at the time I was attending his class.
One of the anectotal times, all University Professors appear to have time for was a Comment and i paraphrase; “when I was in Beijing serving as Canada’s attache for demographic studies there was a Project to determine how many Chinese Citizens will be willing to emigrate to Canada.
The study was funded because there was a concept floating around the Brain Trust of P.M. Chretien. The concept summarized to the nth degree was to establish an Open Border with China and allow all Chinese Applicants immediate immigration to Canada.
This Professor’s anecdotal reminences was ” I conducted a Survey and arrived at a conclusion from the study there would be applications to emigrate to Canada from Thirty (30) Percent of Chinese Citizens.—Just imagine 30 % of a Billion will mean Canada with a population of Thirty Million Citizens the vast majority huddled along within a Hundred miles of Canada’s Southern Border with the U.S.A.—–would be bringing 300 Million Immigrants from China. Ten Times the Population of Canada; at the time.

I am wondering; with the continuing Screed about Immigration acceptance; which seems to change on a Weekly Basis, if not Daily, reflects the apparent thinking of the Professor I listened to Twenty Five Years ago.

The present Canadian Department of Immigration seems to be wandering around a bunch of “Old Reports” to try and blunt the Many Mispokes recently made or is responding to a demand by Canada’s Cabinet to keep an over-hired Immigration Department Busy.

NL’s NoS didn’t cover it, nor did RT and other 24 hour news organizations over there. Only elitist Canadians think that the whole world is watching…Canada. Well they’re not. Should we continue this growth rate via immigration, or should we lower it to something more manageable so that we can assimilate those tens of millions of immigrants who will be brought here by 2100? If we don’t reduce it, won’t Canada begin to resemble those nations it is repopulating itself with? If so why do we need another Syria, India, Latin America or China etc? I’m all for 100 million Canadians, yes Canadians , not hyphenated Canadians just Canadians , assimilated or at least well adjusted . This will only happen when we FORCE our culture down their throat or tell them to leave . I am ok with other races coming BECASUE race is just skin tone , but it’s culture and ideology that ruins stuff. So force a culture change on their part or they don’t come , no turbans in the RCMP , no prayers rooms at businesses , none of that crap .
