    I have a wealthy, retired brother-in-law, a real prog, who swears the economy is just humming along. His evidence? Well, the restaurants in the wealthiest zip code in Philly seem to be doing so well, as he difficulty in getting a table. He gets his news from NPR and the Philly Inquirer of course, where none of the info in Kate’s link is ever mentioned. Lots of clueless people out there. Especially DC and it’s surrounding counties – areas completely unaffected by the 2008 downturn.

  2. 60 thousand plus oil patch workers not working. 30 thousand plus construction workers in alberta soon to be not working. not much need to move a whole lot of stuff if people can’t buy it. one politico said today that the low dollar was helping manufacturing. I guess the guy did not know how much manufacturing has left Canada.

    I now wonder if Harper saw the economic disaster coming down the pipe and really didn’t want to win the election.

  9. In southern Etobicoke, there is an industrial area with a few acres of “roll-on, roll-off” trailers stacked 5 high, and its getting bigger.
    Check around where you live. If there is a trucking company, see if they’re stacking trailers. Pretty good sign that nothing’s moving.

  13. The absolutely only (non lethal) method left to the taxpayer to make an impression on the ruling class would be starting to withhold tax money. However with the Liberal addiction to deficit financing how much good would that do?

  14. Turdeau a boy scout. Not a chance. At best he qualifies as a court jester. Definition – A jester, court jester or fool was historically an entertainer during the medieval and Renaissance eras who was a member of the household of a nobleman employed to entertain him and his guests.

  15. Measures to help women stay home when their children are young got lost with the last federal election. So instead of more babies, how about bringing in more immigrants from countries that share our values like the Philippines.

  18. It is a victory for the” Political Correct Elite:. It is not only here in Canada; they are the Ruling class in most of the Western world. I never thought I would see the day they would make inroads in New Zealand, but both N Z and Australia have succumbed. The
    P C ‘s are the Ones that as Trudeau parrots,believe that ISIS is not a threat to us. and the real problems are climate change, our neglect of the aboriginals, and the exclusion of our Citizens that leads them into joining ISIS. At the Summit Trudeau was Boasting of His Government not treating the Muslima as refugees but as the Citizens that will take Canada Foreward, The inference being all the troubles, the rioting, ravaging, and raping throughout the world is brought on by our Western Worlds policies. We are to blame for those who shoot our soldiers, OR set bombs at the Victoria Parliament Building to Target over a hundred young Canadians at a protest gathering They waited with an undercover agent,to hear the explosion. They were thwarted by the RCMP Undercover Agent who had disabled the Bombs. At present the Lawyers and P,C’s are protesting that those Two Terrorists have had their rights infringed, and were illegally entrapped. Apparently the Undercover Agent should have informed them She was an RCMP. and dissuaded them from doing any evil or illegal acts. We don’t sneak around, lie and pretend to be fellow Terrorists. That is not the Canadian way.
