I have no horse in this race, Harper really isn’t anything more than a klepto-welfare state maintenance man – probably better at running the socialist welfare state than the other socialist candidates, so he is really ersonal non grata to me as a small government Libertarian – however, the unrelenting MSM tsunami of neurotic autonomic Harper hated has given me a deep seething contempt of the corporate media and the drooling morons who feed its toxic output.
    I truly believe that this single minded conformist mentality (either conditioned or voluntary) will plummet our nation, our culture and humanity into a new dark age where thinking or acting “different” will be a crime – that is the way the MSM treat Harper, the CPC and Conservatives in general – they are “freaks” because they challenge or dissent from the prevailing leftist narrow(intolerant) world view.
    When societies become narrow minded philosophically and conformist to big government, and state leadership becomes a matter of the cult of personality rather than statesmanship, society can be politically manipulated by like a mob – I believe we are at a point like Germany experienced in the late 20s – 3 brands of authoritarian socialism competing for power to install the single party state – supported by the greatest propaganda and special interest machine since the rise of national socialism.

I have sympathy for the first part of your first paragraph, as by and large not much of any significance of the leftist agenda in Canada has been rolled back under Harper, who has had one hand tied behind his back in every issue, and in fact relentlessly moves forward in many areas of our society. I am in total agreement with the rest of your comment. The Fabian Laurentian Elite are not amused with the Harper aberration of a government that they hope to rectify in the coming election.
    The Walter Duranty clones in the media and the 1960s soviet sleepers in the educational system have done their work well.
