  6. WTF does this have to do with Canada? I know Justin Trudeau has sold his soul for the Muslim vote. There are hundreds of thousands of dead Syrians and there will be hundreds of thousands more. Arrrrgggggghhhh –this narrative (media Fable) displays so much about the errant thinking and faulty morality of the left – it also cements my contempt for partisan journalism and reaffirms my thesis that the people attracted to this “trade?” are in fact partisan politicians without the balls to seek office and defend their opinions in open parliamentary debate – their accusatory rhetoric only works if there is no factual counter argument.
    My first reaction is that this is a sad event but where does the parents responsibility rank for putting their children in such perilous situations – no one can expect a different outcome when you transport small children across open water in a less than safe vessel – how this became the responsibility of the immigration minister or Harper is a matter of wandering far from logical thought – hatred explains it – a deep neurotic hatred that has been cultured by the degenerate media since harper told them they were no “Gottmenchen” at his first press conference.

  9. This is another perfect example of how islam is winning the war against us who live in the non-muslim world or dar al-harb (house of war).
    This is where the battle will be fought. Jordanian journalist Fouad Hussein spent time in the inner circle of al-Queda and reported on their 20 year plan for us which began in 2001. There are 7 phases, in 2013-2016 they will establish the caliphate, which they have done with al-Baghdadi in ISIS. This will not be a battle of standing armies but with people. ISIS has a 70 mile coastline on the Mediterranean where these refugees cross to Europe plus through Turkey and into Greece.
    This massive flood of muslims into Europe is caused by ISIS driving them out. Notice none go to muslim countries. We are just as threatened, in 1950 there were 5,800 muslims in Canada, now 1.5 million and soaring as we are “forced” by the UN and its 57 muslims countries to take thousands more.
    We are seeing constant muslim demands on us, mosques in our schools, prayer stations in our businesses, muslim dominated areas, all kinds of tax supported welfare. Do they change their deadly culture here, absolutely not.
    We have so many bleeding hearts and government leaders like Quebec’s premier with his bill 59 appeasing islam that we citizens can’t challenge islam or demand no more enter Canada.

  12. They’re going to blame this on the immigration minister and Harper because they can play on people’s emotions. Two small boys drown trying to leave Turkey after their refugee application is turned down. The fact that THOUSANDS of desperate refugees in similar situations are accepted every week doesn’t matter. The media have found a specific example of a failed claim ending in tragedy, and the haters are going to use it for their own agenda.

    I’d just add, for greater clarity, that Ms. Barton, et. al, in their blood-lust, have missed a rather obvious point, it seems to me. Syria is a failed state, and has been for decades, during which time the dynastic regime has systematically neglected its responsibility to protect its people.
    So, if Canada is supposed to be responsible for making up for the dereliction of the Syrian regime, why not double down and ship every Syrian “refugee” over here? “Oh”, you might say, “that would never be politically acceptable!” Which would be a contradiction that the Canadian media is too stupid to understand, apparently: if it’s unacceptable in the general case, why is it acceptable in the specific case? Which contradiction clearly demonstrates the usual Canadian lefty pieties — it’s not really about doing anything, is it? It’s really all about the self-righteousness.
    A couple of political comments:
    – What is Chris Alexander and the national campaign thinking in retreating and taking shelter in Ottawa? That, IMO, was a very dumb move — sort of Kim Cambell-esque, really.
    – I guess the hyenas in the media have decided that Mr. Harper is not dead enough, which can be the only alternative explanation for these cess-pool tactics.

David you are , of course correct, however this is not a news item, this is not a journalistic piece so fact and objective reality do not enter into the effort – this was a chronic concocted Media narrative of Harper being blamed for things beyond his control – they may just as well have blamed my dog as he had as much control over the situation as Harper.
    – yesterday I saw a MSM blurb from some partisan hack, who lives 2000 miles away from the great lakes and is neither a conservationist or environmentalist, blame Harper for some nebulous concept of “neglecting” the great lakes – now objectively, there is no proof of neglect(on the contrary) and secondly the fresh water environment and resources are the jurisdiction of the province they are in – so this was complete baseless accusatory fabrication – so why did it play to 2nd page feature space in all the lib-left news chains in Canada?
    Because objectivity and impartial reporting do not exist in media – if I want this kind of anti-intellectual bigoted narrow minded blather I can listen to my leftard neighbor regurgitate partisan media narratives on over the fence (something I avoid like the clap) – I resent corporate media because they lie to me that they represent an impeccable source of news – this is pure posing as their output is nothing more than a distorted narrative.

    It is absurd and irrational to personally blame a minister or government for the death of failed refugee claimants in Turkey.
    Alexander is acting like he is guilty of this sad event when in fact he is not. The HDS moonbats inside and outside the media will pounce upon and amplify Alexander’s ill-advised reaction as “proof”.

  26. Great comments all but a lot of them are too deep for most CBC viewers so let me me try and simplify it to the Canadian voters who are exposed to this CBC slanted ‘story’.
    A working class family has a child approaching their eight year birthday. The “Mom and Dad” decide that they can afford only a small party, (Mom is a stay at home and Dad is unemployed due to the slow down in the oil patch) with a small birthday cake. So they make the arrangements and order a small birthday cake that they can afford, enough to have five of their child’s friends over and a piece for each of them, so eight slices of birthday cake and a quart of ice-cream. They tell the child that they can invite five friends to the birthday party, however the child wants to invite his whole class, 30 kids! Mom and Dad try to reason with the child and in doing so they allow seven friends to be invited, knowing they will have to again sacrifice one of life’s little pleasures to please the child. Their rational is that when things get better next year, they’ll also get a piece of the cake. However the child is a little miffed that all the children in the class couldn’t come to the party and the piece of cake was so small.
    Now multiply that by a hundred, a thousand, a hundred thousand and we still don’t reach the number of people that the CBC, the Liberals, the NDP and the Greens say that we should be trying to invite to the party.
    Well I’m one of the ‘parents’ in this little parable and there are millions of Canadians like me that have sacrificed most of our lives hoping that things will be better next year. Now just as the present Prime Minister and his government have, in the past ten years, seen us through the worst economic downturn since the “Hungry Thirties” and things might get better if we stay the course, we have all the ‘do-gooders’ telling us that we have to vote for them so they can give away more of the cake that we worked for. Pardon me but if things are as dire as the ‘Do-gooders’ tell us, man-made climate warming, energy shortages, famine, etc., etc., then maybe we’re better off closing the borders and raising the draw-bridge, divert all UN and Foreign Aid funds back into Canada and work out our own problems before we try and save the world.

  39. The fact that the dead child is essentially a product of a deranged creed, eludes the narrative as always. Don’t worry, when Harper is tossed out of office, and the hordes arrive, we will claim victory in the diversity contest, even if it means giving up our freedoms and way of life.
    What is an especially frustrating reality concerning this propaganda campaign by the media is the fact that many busy working people don’t have time to take interest and make the effort to analyze matters such as these. I have seen CBC’s TV coverage of this and, even knowing their nature, it was still truly shocking and appalling to witness the blatant exploitation of these poor refugees tragic deaths for partisan gain. Justin was so eager to exploit their deaths that he only said nine “uuhhs” during his clip blaming the Harper government for the incident.
    While the general tone of CBC’s various talking heads was “what kind of government could allow this to happen?”, there was ABSOLUTEY NO MENTION of radical Islam as the cause of the entire mess in the first place, in fact, Islam was not discussed even once. So here is the clear message I took away from the hour(all I could stomach)….
    The CBC couldn’t give a flying f*ck about dying refugees or why they are dying unless they can exploit some angle to attack the Conservatives during an election. Then the scumsuckers run the story non-stop, complete with lots of dead baby shots to ramp up emotions and show just how evil Harper is.
    IMHO, the deceitful, unethical, lying bastards at the CBC all deserve unemployment.

    Pardon the miss-timed analogy, but do you know why they limit the number of people in a lifeboat? If you pull in too many, the whole boat goes under. (BTW Women and children, on average, weigh less than men.) Our Canadian lifeboat is already taking on water, I’m afraid.
    Xiat’s point above is correct that the bleeding hearts have a case of selective empathy syndrome. They’ll cry for one family’s tragedy somewhere across the globe but our brave (and heavily unionized) mailmen will refuse to deliver leaflets aimed at saving our own children from abortion. Isn’t the photo of a toddler, dead on a beach just as heart-rending as one of a pre-natal doctor-assisted homicide victim? *Just because someone has no name doesn’t make them worthless.*
    Until there’s a tragic enough photo to put on the cover of Time, to the press, the dead overseas are just numbers… but once that one drop of innocent blood hits the water, the frenzied rush to rend their perceived enemies to bits. They aren’t looking for, what do we call it, “A solution”.
    There is never a root to a problem, there is only blame.
    But of course they leave Assad, ISIS, Erdogan, Obama, Putin, etc. unscathed and take aim at Harper. The press can only punch as far as they can see and Harper is the only evil they’re capable of perceiving at the moment. Oh, that and “Global Warming” and maybe gluten.
