The amazing thing is that this is coming from a pretty hard-Progressive newspaper! I’m lookin’ out my window to see if there are any pigs soaring past!
I’m actually slightly surprised.
Not at the Oregonian for attacking Kitzhaber, but for him going far enough off the rails for that to happen.
Oregon has a culture of half-mindless Progressivism, but not, typically, one of corruption.
There is more irony here… Kitzhaber and his fellow Dems have been the ones pushing the implementation of ever more strict public ethics and financial disclosure laws.
You might say Hoist by his own petard!
Possibly a sense of Democrat entitlement that goes with being aloft with Angels and POTUS.
