12 dead in an attack on a satirical magazine;

Two masked gunmen stormed the offices of the controversial publication, which has previously been attacked over its portrayal of the Prophet Mohammed.
They were armed with Kalashnikov rifles and are also believed to have had a rocket-propelled grenade.[…]
It is reported both the publication’s editor and lead cartoonist were among those killed, as well as two police officers.
Some 20 people have also been injured, at least four seriously.
A manhunt is under way for the gunmen, who escaped after a shootout in the street with police.
Shocking footage has emerged of a wounded police officer being shot in the head as he lies on the ground, holding his hands up.
The killers then calmly return to their getaway car, which was later found abandoned.

  18. Called it before I even heard the details. “Journalists dead at a French satirical newspaper at the hands of masked gunmen” was all I got on the morning news. I immediately said to my wife, “Betcha the paper published something about Mohammad that pissed off the Muslim crazies so they blew the place up.”
    France is very deep down the Muslim-crazy hole. We’ve only seen the opening acts of it here in Canada so far. We’ll get the full dose within another generation if we don’t smarten the hell up.

There’s not a lot we can do that won’t do more damage to our already atrophied civil rights in this country than simply accepting the occasional dead policeman, ceremonial guard or citizen as the cost of freedom. Stripping Canadian citizens of their citizenship and deporting them for being Muslim sets a dangerous precedent that could be used against any number of other groups. Halting all immigration from majority Muslim countries and deporting any such residents here not yet Canadian citizens would send a strong message, but I’d want to see some exceptions made for groups like the Eqyptian Copts and the Libyan Christan communities.
    Assuming there are any left.

The solution seems obvious: a mushroom cloud over Tehran, and an announcement that the next Islamic terrorist atrocity will result in a similar cloud over Mecca and Medina ought to be a bit of a deterrent. Nonetheless, this may not work when you’re dealing with a death cult. Still, seems much more efficacious than sending John Kerry over to the ME to jawbone them to death.

Profiling is good practice when doing assessments, but in the end the character of the individual should be the reason of the final “call”.     It will take one galvanizing incident after a long series of atrocities. This is probably not it for us, although it might be in France. They’ve been putting up with a lot of schlitz for a long time.
    See, the problem is you have to convince several million liberal voters that gun control is folly, that terrorists actually exist, and that appeasement is not a morally correct approach to terrorists. Because the reason we’re having these problems at all is there’s a whole political industry making money off pandering to liberal voters.
    That’s not going to happen overnight, right? Because as we all know, liberals are A) not very bright and B) not listening at all.
    You let the Mooselimbs start getting really brave in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Let them feel their oats. Maybe they start really getting up people’s noses in those cities with their strict Sharia BS. A few spectacular rapes, a few honor killings, a few newspapers and TV stations attacked, a few instances of Justin Trudeau abasing himself to ge tthem to stop and they keep right on going. This will build up. Eventually, one of them will kill a little kid or a cute dog or a cute girl, and there will be a picture. Or video. Or something.
    And -then- it will turn on a dime.
    Because that’s what it takes to get crooked politicians to change their path. They’ve gotta smell more profit in a new line of BS.
    That’s why freedom works better than government. In a free country you just punch the pushy Mooselimb creep in the face and get on with your day. We don’t have that here.

    When Western country’s FORCE the so called “Moderates” to accept our values in our countries they will change. They may even fight the so called “radicals” if they truly wanted to live in our nations badly enough.
    How? We could start with immigration reforms, such as NO welfare eligibility until taxes are paid for a minimum of 5 years. No student or work visas for any Islamic Nationals whose countries do not adhere to western value systems. Mandatory English, professional job skills, etcetera, etcetera…………
    As it stands today, western Liberal nations are nothing than sanctuary countries for Islamic terrorists, with free room and board.
    As far as the Muslim “Canadian Citizens” you mentioned, we do have laws and penalties against treason. It’s about time we used them.

    What we do is expect all the people we meet to behave properly, and if they don’t we handle the issue right there, right then. Most importantly, the authorities support the citizens when they settle things between themselves. They don’t pick one group over another and punish anyone who steps out of line with their policy.
    That’s a free country. That’s the kind of country I used to live in and will live in again.
    Mooselimbs are not the enemy. Liberals are the enemy. Defeat them, and hillbilly MoBro head choppers will last a very short time indeed. Like, a week maybe if they’ve really planned ahead.

  45. the progressive’s approach to muslim violence is identical to that of the British people and virtually all politicians other than Churchill during the 1920’s and 30’s:
    “lets not incite Herr Hitler by arming ourselves in violation of our treaties with Germany, even though he is arming in violation of the treaties.”
    How did that work out for the UK and Europe. And just like the Religion of peace, Hitler would say one thing while planning and acting on another.
    In that way he basically went at it systematically, one country at a time.
    The similarities are amazing. The delay in action meant that the west was almost lost at a cost of millions of lives.
    Muslim leaders say one thing in western languages and the opposite in their native languages. One thing in public and the opposite in the mosque.
    I’m sure this is not surprising to any have ways observant muslim.

  47. With respect to the Japanese Internment–we will never know how effective that internment was. My grandmother regularly told me the story of her brother, who was a groundskeeper at the American Embassy in the Philippines prior to WW2 had a work-mate who was also a groundskeeper at the embassy. That Japanese “gardener” turned out to be a colonel in the Japanese Imperial Army once the Japanese took over Manila. Every employee of the US Embassy was identified as well as their home addresses and their families–One can imagine what kind of secrets were divulged by the principal diplomats when they were captured as the Japanese were not signatories to the Geneva Conventions. On a more “positive” note, that same colonel saved my great-uncle just as he was about to be executed by Japanese soldiers for the simple reason of being a male of military age (something the Japanese regularly did to the civilian population during their occupation). So Canadians will never know how many sabotaged factories, poisoned water supplies, blown up railroad tracks, etc were thwarted by the simple act of interning all the Japanese in Canada.

    But surely the day can’t be far off when native Frenchmen take it to the enemy.
    Vigilantism may be unavoidable unless the French elite has a Road to Damascus moment.
    Collective punishment is ugly and patently unfair but fairness maybe become a unaffordable luxury.

White House spokesman says they gotta “investigate” before they “rush to judgement”. Rather than support the President of France who said “terrorists” before the shooting stopped. Because supporting the president of a close ally during war time might be considered gauche, y’know. Due diligence and all, y’unnerstand.

    I just watched some of those videos. Those f-ers had Krinkovs and Eastern Block body armor. Still, if all the cowering goofs with cameras had pistols as well, the death toll would be three terrorists.
    For those liberals lurking here at SDA, important clue update. You can -drive- from France to the Middle East, it isn’t that far. You can also drive to Russia, and Bulgaria, and Romania, and the Balkans etc., all places where a case of decent beer can score you an AK. For explosives and RPGs I expect you have to pay American dollars.
