It’s Probably Nothing

Victor Davis Hanson;

Collapsing oil prices — a good thing for most of the world — will make troublemakers like oil-exporting Iran and Russia take even more risks.
Terrorist groups such as the Islamic State feel that conventional military power has no effect on their agendas. The West is seen as a tired culture of Black Friday shoppers and maxed-out credit-card holders.
NATO is underfunded and without strong American leadership. It can only hope that Vladimir Putin does not invade a NATO country such as Estonia, rather than prepare for the likelihood that he will, and soon.

  1. is this like the synthetic oil from natural gas?
priced at more than $10/liter, must not sold much, coz then it came down to $6-$8/liter.

  2. so Russian supports Iran, and Iran is Saudi Arabia’s main enemy, and now, by not cutting oil out put, she is collapsing their economies. As Saudi Arabia could no longer depend on the USA militarily she may have decided to take the only action, short of war or acquiring the “bomb”, reasonable open to her.
beer and pop corn time as we watch obumbles twist himself into contortions trying to justify staying out of battle:-)))

  3. “It[NATO] can only hope that Vladimir Putin does not invade a NATO country such as Estonia, rather than prepare for the likelihood that he will, and soon.”
Yeah, sure. Invading Estonia will fix the Russian economy./

“A federal district court judge in Pennsylvania has ruled parts of President Barack Obama’s executive immigration orders unconstitutional, accusing him of bypassing Congress in granting deportation relief and work permits to as many as 6 million illegal immigrants.
The decision on Tuesday by Judge Arthur Schwab in Pittsburgh dismisses the White House’s legal reasoning in granting the orders, which Obama announced in a prime-time speech on cable television on Nov. 20.”
Thus the ‘constitutional expertise’ of the Obama-Nation™ has been ruled unconstitutional.
So there you have it, the Iranian invasion of six million immigrants has been cancelled by the federal district court judge in Pennsylvania.
Now the American worker just has to avoid ICBMs in ‘flyover country’…so when they hit the accelerator, to take evasive action, they will be doing it with cheaper gas!
Only, 766 days to go on the Obama-Nation™ countdown…

  5. It won’t fix the Russian economy, but it will take the EU’s down with it. And that’s generally the idea. Spread the pain around till the EU cries uncle, and completely overturns the Yankee sanctions.

  6. Old saying: Once you jump on the tiger’s back for a ride, you don’t decide when the ride is over.
It isn’t just the EU Putin will be taking on, it will be NATO.

  7. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
    Tremble with fear.
Let it overwhelm you until you cannot form a rational thought in your head.
    Estonia? Yeah, right.

  8. Heh, it’s not like Russia, China whoever has had 40 years of open American borders to plant as many assets as they wish to destabilize the US at will.
    Hey wait a minute…………

  9. C” mom folks. Think it would end in Estonia? Hell no. And Obama will neuter NATO as his main enemy is the somewhat free western world. Expect WW III before Obama has s done burying the U.S. He is going to decimate the military further and incite nation wide race riots. Gonna get ugly.

Schwab’s ruling, described by The Washington Times as “scathing,” said that the president had the authority to issue executive orders and interpret the law.
But “Obama’s unilateral legislative action violates the separation of powers provided for in the United States Constitution … and therefore is unconstitutional,” Schwab said in his 38-page opinion.”

  11. Yes it WILL end with the Baltic states. Russia has no interest in “conquering” Europe. Putin feels (as do many Russians) that the Multi-Culti PC Western powers have been trying to dictate the terms of the post Cold War World’s political and economic landscape, and Putin’s calling the bluff. Do you honestly think the 3rd brigade, 24th Swedish Somali Immigrants’ Transsexual Sportscar Divison has the capacity to engage Russian forces in an all-out fight? Even if they did, the Western media will pretty much guarantee the failure of any Western military action.
The goal of a Russian invasion of Estonia is two-fold. (1) show the Russian people that the days of having to suck Angela Merkel’s shrivelled old paps as the price for losing the Cold War are over,
    (2) show European populations the full extent of their weakness and America’s weapons-grade douchebaggery once and for all, so they first and foremost realise NATO is finished, and can go back to minding their own business for a change.
Putin’s got two years to “reset” the operating system of the International Order, and he’s damned well gonna take his chance.

  12. Russia is having trouble trying to take Eastern Ukraine from a small, corrupted country.
    And Chechnya is still restive.
Their “ally” China is eying Siberia for resources and land.
The Ruble is collapsing, and the Russian economy is going to be hit badly.
Will Putin maintain his power? Can he?

  13. Russia has been in far worse shape before: 1917, and 1945. And the best way to hold power is to demonstrate power. It resides where men think it resides. Look to a massive Russian military campaign shortly.

  14. but does Putin hold the power you and he thinks he holds, that is the question?
there are now wealthy power brokers in Russian, that never existed in the USSR.

  15. bbss I get the impression from your comments you have unique insights into Russia; please keep contributing. For all the issues threatening the stability of Russia from within and without, it’s interesting to see how the oil market has done more to derail Russia than any sanction, criticism or Putin adventurism. Yes, Putin will have to change the channel soon with the ruble down at least 40% and 50% of the Russian economy dependent on high oil and gas prices.

  16. For better or worse, Saudi has some nice US supplied toys to defend from Iranian attack. Will they fight? My guess is hell yes, only because their “religion of peace” is different than Iran’s “religion of peace.”
    Beer & Popcorn time indeed.

  17. Here in the State of Jefferson(Norhern California its tome to $3:09 and i heard of a place where its way down to $1:99 which no longer creates dumb news stories of some idots on their stupid bicycles moving their belongings from one place to another or disrupting traffic with idiotic stunts
