This wouldn’t have happened if society had built him a home to live in free of charge and delivered food to him and given him free needles.

In a time long ago crazy people had homes and people cared for them there.
The places where the insane lived were called mental institutions.
They were expensive to run so governments & bureaucrats did a bait and
switch. Better care was now provided by dumping them out on the street.

He was arrested, committed, and the nice doctors will adjust his medications. Then he will be released back into the public in 30-60 days. He will stop taking his medication and become delusional in how many days?
