President Obama acknowledged Thursday he doesn’t have a plan for defeating Islamist militants in Syria and backed away from imminent military action, while he also downplayed reports of a new Russian invasion in Ukraine.
“We don’t have a strategy yet,” Mr. Obama said of his plans for defeating the Islamic State in Syria. “We need to make sure that we’ve got clear plans. As our strategy develops, we will consult with Congress.”

Obama is either full of shit or he is the most incompetent President ever. There used to be a time when governments used to have a contingency for ANY armed event. They were called “War Plans” and they each had a color. War Plan White deals with a domestic uprising in the US. War Plan Green involved war with Mexico. War Plan Red dealt with a potential war with the UK with sub-plans Crimson, Scarlet, Ruby, Garnet, and Emerald for British dominions.
There comes a time when you have to ask yourself – if Obama is not a full-on traitor, what more could he be doing to be one?
So have they permanently replaced the stars and strips with the white flag of surrender? Or a yellow flag of cowardice? The world is a lot more dangerous place with Obama as president. Get that idiot out of there.

That time has not passed yet. The Pentagon and other militaries spend a lotta time and resources in planning for ANY eventuality however obscure.
Did you know the US had a thorough, detailed plan to invade Canada in the late ’30’s….which wasn’t achieved until about 1950……that Canada had a thorough, detailed plan to meet and defeat that plan?
This IS, ISIS, ISIL threat could be squashed so easily by fighter sweeps, for opportunity targets, even in the face of wide-spread presence of man-pads. It’s packs of pick-up trucks……IS (whatever) has no air force….it’s total air-dominance not just supremacy…

I know that the US could easily crush ISIS/L back into the Stone Age (well, less Stone Age-ish). But the will to do what must be done against an implacable and insane enemy just isn’t there. Personally, I think the West should just withdraw completely and leave the M.E. utterly to their own devices with a stark warning that now that they have what they want (isolation), that any attack against the US will result in Medina being turned into a parking lot. Ignoring that warning and after a subsequent attack, Mecca becomes the world’s largest exporter of glass. They will get the message eventually.
