A nation fails her leader;
I find nothing paradoxical about Obama’s recent pattern of behavior, nothing mysterious about the golfing, partying, traveling. It is quite obvious: Obama has given up.
He knows that his agenda is now limited to executive orders and bureaucratic regulation, and that even these measures are likely to be in the courts for years. He knows that his foreign policy agenda of engagement with the enemies of America will prove controversial and unpopular. He knows his staff has been ducking-and-covering ever since Lois Lerner announced the IRS had targeted Tea Party groups, and that they have been playing defense through Edward Snowden and Syria and Healthcare.gov and Crimea and the VA and now Bowe Bergdahl. He knows there is a chance that the Republicans will control Congress next January, and he has said, according to Politico, that this “would make his last two years in office unbearable.”
Nothing left to do but swing the wrecking ball.
A disengaged president who does not apply intellectual rigour to his daily decisions is a dangerous president. He should be impeached but probably cannot unless he does something horribly illegal. His jarring misread of the public mood, on display last weekend in the Rose Garden love-in with ZZ-Top and his wife over the release of Private Deserter, will become more and more frequent. Even Democrats are struggling to defend this bozo.
The wrecking ball started swinging for America at his inauguration. It’s now a question of how much destruction ensues before he goes.

We all knew that before his first election after he said that he was going to fundamentally change America. What we did not understand was that his term “fundamentally change” actually meant wrecking America.
The USA and Obama deserve each other and are also deserving of any comeuppance they receive.

The sad part is Obama is just the mouthpiece for those utopians around him.
Those of you who were discouraged about the future of conservative thought a year ago would be well-advised to continue to shine a light on the blatant arrogance and wishful thinking of these dreamers.
Reality bites and it’s up to us to make sure the last two years of this traitorous admiinstration will be the most uncomfortable of their lives.
Once the election is done, send them back to their academic holes and make sure you send your children to institutions of practical learning ie technical schools rather that to be corrupted by the poison of university.

Actually this current situation is on reflection the logical result of what has been developing for some time…since Reagan.
Yeah, 911 had it’s contribution, with the Patriot Act, a policy designed for outside threats which paved the way for these inside threats.
Interesting times…….hopefully this will be resolved without a full blown emotional experience (civil war)….
Currently there is a low grade conflict….between those frustrated that their agenda has stalled and those impatient to restore the perceived previous statis quo. Both factions will probably be disappointed.
Can executive actions be overrid by the next president using the same mechanism? If so, his influence is almost over.

The only thing they are forgetting is the Democheats control the ballot boxes as seen in the last general election.
Doesn’t matter if they get cought they just continue on with their winning stratagy.

I think his extended vacations are great and should be encouraged. The damage he does is at work. Every vacation helps to run out the clock.
You know, even if the will was there to actually impeach him, I wonder if by the time they get around to it and actually go through with it, if the term limit will be up and he’ll be gone anyway………but not before he pardons himself and those closest to him in his cabal of any wrong doing.
Which only leaves me with the creeping feeling that if they don’t at least try, Obama gets away with everything, and that sets a VERY dangerous precedent for whoever comes next or any time after.

The next two years will be dangerous to vulnerable (former?) US allies as the “enemies” of the west now know what to expect from the broke superpower leviathan led by a faculty lounge gaggle.
The mindless who have voted themselves into slavery will become marginal vote fodder for conservative progressives ensuring no real reform is forthcoming. Obama won’t be impeached as long as the Democrats hold the Senate. The House can impeach until Hell freezes over,but his Dem slaves in the Senate will NEVER prosecute him, too much of their own skulduggery in the closet.
Now,and this thought makes me sick,there’s talk of Michelle Obama and Barry pulling a George and Lurleen Wallace, with President Michelle in 2016.

I mentioned this a few years back on this site but it may need to be restated in light of what has occurred over the last few years. Obama has orchestrated a fundamental change in America and this is only the beginning. With two years to go in his presidency there is ample opportunity for him to declare a national state of emergency and suspend the constitution and terms of office. The pieces are lining up for a major rift in the American population. He has successfully split the American people, rich and poor, black and white, citizen and alien. The arming of all federal agencies and the stockpiling of ammunition for those agencies is the writing on the wall. If we live long enough we are about to see the Twenty-First century’s “War of the Roses” American style. A president that rules by decree as Obama has done in the last two years can quite easily formulate a civil war in a divided nation and unleash the dogs of war.
Obama will be gone in a few years and bad as he has been the damage can be repaired, but Obama is not the issue.
The issue is an electorate that voted for Obama in the fist place. An electorate unable to see the MSM was working to hide anything negative about Obama (remember Rev Wright) and an electorate not skeptical of his lack of experience. Before running America Obama had not even run a corner store, but that did not seem to concern the voters.
Obama is not the problem: it is the American electorate that will repeatedly elect inept political demagogues who go against common sense and make impossible promises.
Countries don’t decline because of the quality of the leadership. Countries decline because of the quality of the electorate.
While Obama may be disappointed in the US he has certainly not disappointed me. Before he ran for office I looked at his resume and decided that he would likely be the worst president in US history. He has exceeded my all expectations. I guess I didn’t realize that anyone could be that incompetent.

Someone once pointed out that what wealth buys you, among other things, is insulation from reality. The US in the last 60 yrs has been one of, if not the wealthiest nation on earth. The upshot of that has been that in both domestic and foreign policy it has been able to engage in a level of self-delusion which no other country in history has been able to entertain. Its geopolitical circumstances have always contributed to a luxury of insularity equal to few if any nations in history. Wealth simply amplified that. Obambam is simply the epitome of that insularity — the motivational speaker made CEO; the Chauncey Gardner whose vacuity could be read as anything the reader wanted to read into it. But now the wealth is beginning to wane as a result of the slovenly neglect for its source. And reality in the form of Russia and China and the jihadists is beginning to knock on the doors. The US is in for some tough times. Canadians would do well to build as effective a firewall as realistically possible between ourselves and the US because its fall will not come without a lot of flying debris.
I do not believe for one moment that Obama enjoys long and nuanced conversations about more sophisticated or complex things. He is a procrastinator, liar and narcissist. His attitude towards leadership and public service have been apparent since the very beginning- he resents it.
I don’t know why it has taken some people so long to see it. His contempt even for those who follow him was always there if only thy took the blinders off.

Well said but it’s difficult to build a firewall when we are joined at the hip and totally dependent on our neighbor for our economic survival. With luck we should have a 6 month window to watch them fall apart before we get dragged down with them.
