While the developing scandal over the targeting of conservatives by the tax agency has largely focused to date on its scrutiny of groups with words such as “tea party” or “patriot” in their names, these examples suggest the government was looking at a broader array of conservative groups and perhaps individuals. Their collective experiences at a minimum could spread skepticism about the fairness of a powerful agency that should be above reproach and at worst could point to a secret political vendetta within the government against conservatives.

“…a secret political vendetta within the government against conservatives. …” It is ridiculous to suggest that in a modern progressive democratic nation like the U.S.A. that sort of thing would be going on. It’s the sort of thing one might expect in a country where a faction in power talked about domestic politics using phrases like ” punish our enemies” and, er, just a minute…
Cynical thought, the IRS has to focus on Conservative groups and people.
These citizens are producing wealth, have their own money.
Thus a real target for thieves form the government.
How may progressive organization or individuals operate with thier own wealth?
Most Libtards and progs I know are on welfare, unemployment, govt payroll or contracted to government.
No benefit for revenuers there.
Peggy Noonan in the Wall Street Journal has this to say – and points out that most of the actions against conservatives took place during the period when Obama was running for the 2012 re-election. Obama has never won a position, in employment or in politics, fairly and based on his ability and the issues. Never; he’s ‘won’ always, by corrupt means.
She writes: “What does it mean when half the country—literally half the country—understands that the revenue-gathering arm of its federal government is politically corrupt, sees them as targets, and will shoot at them if they try to raise their heads? That is the kind of thing that can kill a country, letting half its citizens believe that they no longer have full political rights.”
The Democratic Party is in trouble on many levels. First, it hitched its wagon to an unknown, planning to retake presidential power for itself as a political party. What it refused to realize is that Obama belongs only to ONE political party: His Own.
Remember, he’s recently set up just that; his own political party, ‘Organizing for Action’ with its own data base unavailable to the Democratic Party and its own fundraising. Obama is always about his own power.
Notice also that Obama never, ever takes responsibility for any problems from the economy to terrorism to political campaigns. It’s always someone else (Bush; Petraeus; Clinton; Romney..) or Congress or Americans Before Obama.
Now, the Democratic Party is worried. Their approval rating has dropped from in the 60s to equivalent to the GOP at about 38%. They are worried that Obama will cost them not merely the House in 2014 but the Senate.
So, the Party is extremely worried. They can’t at this moment ditch Obama, so instead, they are having him fundraise for the party.
So, Obama is now going out doing the only thing he’s ever done: campaigning. He’s unable to govern, unable to develop policies because his focus is never on helping others but on empowering Himself.
But will fundraising be enough? Obama is trying to expand his electoral base. He’s giving speech after speech to college graduates and ‘forgiving’ their student loans. He’s increasing the ratio of dependents on food stamps and welfare. Will even this be enough?
Obamacare is going to increase some premiums by 30 to 150% – and this will hit right at the beginning of 2014, the beginning of the election year.
The GOP are focusing on the fact that the Obama administration has, because of its focus on power rather than governance, moved itself into almost total corruption. They’ve got to keep exposing this.
Obama has finally begun to alienate the media – and if this continues – it will be a powerful tool in the election.
Reminds me of the end, hopefully, of the Third Reich.
Imagine for a moment a Republican president who uses the IRS to target union, leftist groups and Planned Parenthood activists, secretly tapes thousands of calls of reporters of the New York Times, and lets his military personnel get ‘iced’ in a far off discontented land…
I’m going to guess that the ‘left-o-cracy’ would be screaming blue bloody murder to impeach the president.
As it is the public gets Axelrod defending the ‘up-Holder’ of the Constitution as
‘exercising his responsibilities’ for playing East German Stasi operative with Fox News and AP.
Well oh no we didn’t do anything wrong, we only had IRS commissioner Shulman visit the White House 157 times to take his kids to the Easter Egg hunt.
Of course this might be believable, under the assumption that they believed in Easter, as only Jesus himself could redeem these political lepers.
I’m so sorry, but this panoply of characters is plainly lying the blue right out of the sky and everyone knows it. But still they will press on with the play, as the ‘farce must go on’.
When are they going to trot out Darth Vader to do a stand up comedy routine?
At least then one could laugh along, because you know they are laughing at you, and declare “May the Farce be with you!”

“…at worst could point to a secret political vendetta within the government against conservatives.”
Well, given that THE central tenet of modern small “c” conservatism is that government can’t be trusted, and given that the roll-back of government regulatory agencies and the reduction of taxes are the main conservative policies, would it be astounding to find that the scumbags we’re trying to roll back are cheating?
Of course they’re cheating. That’s why they have to be rolled back, cut back, starved of funds and removed from power. They’re scumbags. Its what they do.
I will admit they used to be a little more subtle about it…
The whole IRS scandal combined with the assault on red states through laying the groundwork for civil disarmament and a surveillance/police state, is nothing short of a Marxist putsch – let’s start calling these subversive leftist moves what they are.
Leftist governments north and south of the 49th need to be put back in their constitutional confinement. It starts with caling so-called modern leftism/liberalism/progressivism, what it really represents – aggressive fabian socialism – they have spent too much time with their “bloodless revolution” to subvert democratic restraint and private wealth diversity and free society, now they are turning to more established Bolshevik methods of subverting majortiy will and ideological opposition.
We see it in Obama’s purge of red state resistance, ideology and institutions through bureaucratic tyranny and we see it in Ottawa and GTA where the leftist fifth column conspires with the lefist media to slander and attack anything conservative or anyone who is not statist socialist.
The left’s advance guard is on the push to eliminate ideological and institutional opposition/dissent. Know what you are dealing with, know the head combatants and resist accordingly – or be swept away in the purge.

Yep it’s the politics of envy….those working for the gubmint have no interest in a real job or career.
Even FDR figured this out and banned public service unions.
Take, for example, the Tides Foundation. There is Big Money funding Big Anti-Oil.
I see your point regarding total twits not being able to generate enough cash for their causes but there are those who see value in these useful idiots and pour money accordingly.
Just saying.
These recent scandals show how Obama has learned from his Marxist masters.
To ET, Occam, and other commenter on this thread.
I do not think that this regime will go down like the Third Reich or the Soviet Union just yet, as too many people who believe in Marxism in its various forms are too entrenched in the government bureaucracies and in the educational system. The unions will always support this ideology until the radical leftists get enough control of government to arrest the union leaders and roll the unions into a single government controlled union.
The Third Reich collapsed because of military assault. The Soviet Union collapsed because none of the people, other than a sprinkling of die-hard Stalinists, believed in it or its promised utopian future benefits any more, and that includes the KGB.
This harnessing of government agencies to intimidate and punish dissenters is a blatant overt attempt by a regime to consolidate control.
Besides, George Soros would not approve of an arresting of the movement toward socialist, and for John that includes Fascist socialism, totalitarianism.
Well we are pointing at the American failings one should recall the Canadian failings. I am able to cite the experience of a small business owner, who operated an aboveboard business which imported material from the U.S.A. The difficulty started and took place under the Previous Federal Liberal government.
He employed 12 people, provided supplementary health care and in addition paying wages in the second percentile of wage rate determination. The employees were given supplementary health care coverage and were provided both a merit bonus and a profit sharing bonus.
Everything was kept on an even keel by he and his wife putting in the 50 to 60 hour weeks necessary for Ontario small business and at times forgoing wages to meet cash flow. Then he made a mistake of making a small contribution to a political party, not the governing party at previously said.
Out of the blue a Canada Border Services Agency determined products brought in from the U.S.A. for over ten years were suddenly not duty free. It was only under the threat the company would shut down; a dozen people would be unemployed and an upcoming election suddenly became part of the equation that the C.B.S. became understanding.
We have had progressive action in Canada, keep in mind the impact of Human Rights Agencies on both ordinary citizens and large and small businesses. Cheers;
Ken – I think that, regardless of the military removal of the Third Reich and the people’s loss of faith in the Soviet version of utopia, that both regimes failed, at their very roots, because of the collapse of their economic infrastructure.
Both regimes removed the investment and productive power of a middle class by moving to a two class infrastructure and denying individual private enterprise. The same thing is taking place under the Obama regime in the US.
And both regimes were utopian and thus, removed from the realities of daily life – both domestically and in foreign affairs. Same with Obama.
I agree with you about ‘not just yet’ but my point is that the Obama infrastructure of: utopianism and destruction of the private sector middle class small business economy – are disastrous.
I don’t think that Obama can survive just by a dependent-on-govt electoral base. I don’t think he can survive within the rhetoric of ‘Bush did it’ or ‘the GOP are evil’. He’s managed to win the 2008 and 2012 elections on this rhetoric..the latter one narrowly, but he lost the 2010 because of his lack of an economic infrastructure.
With the gradually increasing hostility of the media – slow but steady -and the effects of reality (Obamacare, economy) among non-dependents, I think that both Obama and above all, the Democrats, are in trouble. Serious trouble. Facts always trump fiction.
Obumbles, the first Jooish president, Karl The Marx would just love this turd, and Soreass dose love him!!!
the extreme jewish left is just starting their take over, and they know that Obumbles is expendable, so they have to find a new dupe for 2016
