I first experienced this in 1988, in my first year of seminary when they handed out a booklet called (you guessed it) “Guideline for inclusive language”. Similar moves happened in most mainline Protestant denominations. 25 years later these denominations are falling apart.
Change the language, change the culture.
Time to become a doomsday prepper.
Any teacher worth their pay would demonstrably drop that manual into the trash basket infront of their class as a symbol the learning they will recive from him/her is knowlege based in reason and accepted through free critical thought, not cynical political indoctrination.
The fact that not one Durham teacher did not openly reject this type of Orwellian newspeak, indicated they have been infected with cultural Marxism at teachers college – the poison runs through the very veins of society when our pedagouges are pimping cultural (linguistic) Marxism.
I am appalled at the the American administrations attempt to appease the Islamic world while they encourage spiteful ridicule of Christianity at home.
The issue is not a movie, a book,nor is it a question of faith in anything.
The only issue is the barbaric behaviour of a group of extremists supported by their masses who want to dominate the world. These riots and killings are well organized events.
We need to call this turmoil in the US administration insulting to western democracy and all of it’s nations.

Make the superintendents and principals that worked on this piece of crud reimburse the school district for the time spent on it.
I you hit them personally in the pocket book, status or employment, they will listen. Otherwise they will ignore your protestations, because they are inherently better than us, and they know what is right.

I think I can intuit what some appropriate inclusive responses ought to be to this drivel.
One has two words: First one starts with F…second one starts with O.
Another one has three words, starting with the letters G, F, and Y respectively.
That was informative. When arriving on job sites I’ll now be sure to check in with the former and expect confused looks &/or get sent over to the concrete guys.

Ahhh, but the new age lefty thinking is if you start by teaching children to be all inclusive, never to bully or hurt anyones feelings, that there will be peace in the world. We must eliminate independent thinking and adhere to what is taught in those social science degrees. Those degrees lead to a life in teaching or activism. Brainwashing 101 coming out of every university. What did we expect ? The younger you can get them ,the more compliant they will be. Bypass the parents whose ideals may be a hindrance. All proceeding as planned with the UN in the background planning the eventual direction of World government, as in Agenda 21. Karl Marx would have been proud to see his dreams come true. Joe McCarthy would be vindicated with the number of socialists coming out of the closet to reshape our society. He would have never suspected that the POTUS is one of them and every university is riddled with them. The children may be our future but they are being taught to reject everything that made this country great.
I know I am accused of being an old dinosaur for posting this, but this is true and I am one of those who lived through it. I had the privilege of serving in Canada’s Armed Forces when we knew the enemy was Communism. The “useful Idiots” are still hard at work.

It’s a sad reflection on where we’ve got to as a society when I must confess that I’m glad my sole connection with the school system in any way now is my annual property tax bill.

I have some history of being seriously non-compliant with speech codes in the PT realm. At one point they started in trying to convince us impressionable students that “disabled” was improper useage and hurtful to the patients. The approved useage was “differently abled”. Which isn’t even English.
I started saying “crippled” instead. It went over as one might imagine. Yeah, good times… ~:D

Medical educators are very serious about their speech codes, pill. Patient care guidelines and all that. They kick people out of school for stuff like that. If I’d been a twenty-something kid they’d have kicked me out. But I was older and pretty crusty, plus I said the “L” word in a sentence to the head of the department. So they all kind of coughed and looked the other way while I did exactly what the hell I liked.

The world is full of folks that feel offended and then there are the “enablers”, those white anglos who feel we have offended people even if we haven’t. Like the holy rollers who are trying to rewrite the bible in order to remove all gender, never mind that a heck of a lot of languages have gender as a basis. Not linguistic at all but what I learned in my military language training was that masculine and feminine were very important in the French language.
I’ve also have had the corporate lawyer of a major university affiliated hospital tell me I couldn’t use derogatory words like “Canuck” when describing… er, Canucks.

I posted a story on my blog where one (1) complaint from one (1) actual human being got a whole e-reader program shut down at a city library in California. The whiner whined that blind people couldn’t read the e-readers, and the federal Justice Dept. shut ’em down. Insanity. Happens every day apparently, and all the loveydovey language chopping doesn’t seem to stop it. Give ’em the finger and drive on, I say.
There’s also this whole belief system on the Left that words make things happen, like chanting magic spells. If you call someone “disabled” they will BECOME disabled just by you saying it. More insanity. Needs to be confronted at every opportunity.

People will be people – on a transit route to north Scarborough in Toronto, it is known as the Shanghai Express. What do you call a Jew who lives in Seoul? He may not identify himself as a Jew but he might and lives in one of the biggest “Korean communities” (not the Jewish community- wherever that may be, in North America, Israel, Europe, South Africa, ect)in a country whose inhabitants sometimes don’t recognise the national division between north and south and whose need for exactness in social and familial circles is ingrained in the language (there are over sixty terms to describe familiar relationships alone).
I’m sure the thought police have that figured out.
