This past week Dennis Miller went through a light-hearted but interesting analysis of the upcoming U.S. Presidential race, especially focusing on Sarah Palin.
While you might not be a fan of Palin’s, isn’t it a truly beautiful thing how she gets the “geniuses” on the Left so incredibly riled up?

“While you might not be a fan of Palin’s, isn’t it a truly beautiful thing how she gets the ‘geniuses’ on the Left so incredibly riled up?”
In a word, YES!
Sarah Palin is unique: she’s not the usual politician: actually, she’s not a politician in the formal sense these days. She says what she means and she means what she says. ‘Refreshing, I’d say.
And I’d advise her, for now, to stay right where she is: out of political office but with huge clout to influence those who might want to get/stay in office.
Godspeed, Sarah!
I like Sarah Palin a lot. I hope she runs, and wins and does exactly what she’s said she’d like to do… I think the same of Marco Rubio however he’s said with complete clarity that he’s not running and will complete his senatorial term.
and I love how she makes the left’s heads explode.
Simple formula…
Most folks hate what they fear…
Same with the left….their stench of fear is overwhelming.
Sasquatch, if I may bitsurf off of your comment – “Same with the left….their stench of fear is overwhelming: – you mean, like “democracy”?!
She is on a roll…The Republicans NEED her in the race..She will dominate the News Cycle…
Remember how the Clinton/Obama Race set the stage for Obama.. Who ever wins the Republican nomination, with her in the race, will have become a household name.. she could win it all
She needs to get off the Medicare crap..Just roll back the “Raid” by Obama (of 500B)..and insist on a bi-partisan plan going forward…Ryan is over his head. Heard the Medicare debate (Fox) with him & his foe the Democrat from Maryland… Ryan not only lost the debate he was incapable to see that his plan was actually Obama Care for the elderly. Stupid Social Engineering without a Minds Eye..
Most folks hate what they fear…
…Sarah “Revolutionary War Scholar” Palin?
Run Sarah, run, please, let’s hope the idiot runs.
There’s been a comedic void since Trump took his comb over and slithered home.
What lookout said @ 11:08.
“Same with the left….their stench of fear is overwhelming.”
That and their Depends need changing.
Not much of an American Revolutionary War scholar, yourself, are you, Phil?

I really like Marco Rubio.
Take the challenge
Honest and sincere, from what I’ve seen.
Leftards hate honesty, adn she has that.
She did great in Alaska cleaning up the old corrupt energy cabal.
May she, or whoever she backs, clean house in Washington as effectively.

Could it be that leftists rely on ad hominem (ad feminam?) arguments rather than logic because of mental laziness or simply because they can offer no logical arguments? Conservatives are either evil (Scary Harper) or stupid (Idiot Palin). How tedious.
How about reading up on Paul Revere yourself? After all, if he and his fellow revolutionaries hadn’t eventually prevailed, you wouldn’t have Americans to sneer at.
In Revere’s own words:
I observed a Wood at a Small distance, & made for that. When I got there, out Started Six officers, on Horse back, and orderd me to dismount;-one of them, who appeared to have the command, examined me, where I came from,& what my Name Was? I told him. it was Revere, he asked if it was Paul? I told him yes He asked me if I was an express? I answered in the afirmative. He demanded what time I left Boston? I told him; and aded, that their troops had catched aground in passing the River, and that There would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up. He imediately rode towards those who stoppd us, when all five of them came down upon a full gallop; one of them, whom I afterwards found to be Major Mitchel, of the 5th Regiment, Clapped his pistol to my head, called me by name, & told me he was going to ask me some questions, & if I did not give him true answers, he would blow my brains out. He then asked me similar questions to those above. He then orderd me to mount my Horse, after searching me for arms…
I’m not in the least convinced that she has what it takes. Soundbites and photo-ops aren’t enough – let’s see her go on Charlie rose and spend an hour discussing middle eastern affairs. I think several of the other candidates would do just fine. Palin seems to be dodging in depth interviews.
That said, i would be more than happy to be convinced otherwise – she has enormous talent and courage. If anyone can provide proofthat I am wrong, please do so.
I too admire her in many ways, including talent and courage, but she’s not my choice. The current president has confirmed the dangers of electing somebody with insufficient experience. Even though she possesses more than Obama did when he was elected, as does Herman Cain, who actually successfully ran a company rather than Community Organizer protests, I continue to hope an experienced governor (Hunstman? Perry?) emerges. Although he fits that profile, I doubt Romney can prevail. He’s typecast as a flip-flopper and of course the defender of Romney-Care.
The good news is that I think the 2010 election backlash is far from spent.
Considering Palin’s support for Israel, I think she’d do fine on Middle Eastern policy, Gord. (Leaving aside trick questions and the like.) And I appreciate that your criticism is honest and not like some conservative commenters who hate her as much as anyone at Kos does.
President Palin will usher in an American Renaissance – exactly what the United States needs now, and will need even more after another year and a half of being led by an angry incompetent.
Gord, Drained, et al: your comments are well taken. But this is politics and the ability to win is paramount. I see no one else emerging with the image that will capture the imagination of the Right and cause the left’s head to explode. I think Palin is not so Elitist as to disregard the good advice of a well selected Cabinet as our big “O” is obviously doing. Has he called a cabinet meeting yet?
Sarah Palin rides her Harley rounding up the Americans and warning the Elitists of their impending defeat.
Andy:
Her support for israel tells me nothing. There are millions with the same position. My doubts are whether in the past two years she has gotten up to speed on Foreign affairs or not. Surely she realizes that this is perceived as a key weakness.
Gunney:
Unless she miraculously turns her very high polling negatives around palin has no chance at becoming POTUS – she is simply Too polarizing a figure.
She was well-enough received over her Hong Kong and Indian speeches.

And meeting with Netanyahu and other Israeli government officials doesn’t count? And with us comparing her to who in the GOP field–the master of international affairs who is Mitt Romney?
You’re right that such a perception is a weakness but is she supposed to write articles for Foreign Affairs to prove herself worthy? (Something no contender of either party in my lifetime has ever had to do.) And with who judging that she’s succeeded in doing that? I doubt there’s anything she could do (like beating Obama by a week to a policy statement about Libya) that would satisfy the MSM critics and be reported in a way to get around the MSM filter that would denigrate or trivialize anything she said or wrote.
Unelectable, maybe, but an idiot (not that you claim that) that her GOP and leftist critics accuse her of being, no.
Just back from a ride to Southern California which included a full day at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley.
You know what: while I’ve been hot and cold on Palin (and warming up again) I can’t shake the feeling that there is something Reaganesque in the dame. That sunny, aw shucks, demeanour. That ability to communicate directly, over the heads of the MSM anointed, to the great unwashed.
When I heard about her little gem about Obama being noble for insisting on going down with the ship, I thought: heh, that’s Reagan.
Gord Tulk could be right. OTOH, what were the chances of a 3rd rate B movie actor with film credits including the immortal Bedtime for Bonzo?
However, I confess I’m in a bigger swoon over Michelle Bachman at the moment (shallow bastid that I am).
Gord Tulk Why do you think Sarah Palin is polarizing? I have wondered this since she went to the lower 48 to run for vice president. Why would people not like such a fine lady who has a proven track record for getting the job done for the people she is serving. Why was Sarah subjected to childish scorn when Joe Biden was not? Sarah Palin would not be a President who would bring a foolish spouse with her to the White House. Why do people not consider the Man who stands with Sarah? Todd Palin is a very capable (and handsome) man. Is Tod the reason that many of the msm type men are terrified of Sarah? Things that make me go hummm?
I have a high opinion of Palin. She’d make a good president, although we can’t say if she’s the best candidate until we actually see the candidates.
What concerns me are these people who reject her, not because they can point to something to dislike or distrust about her, but because they think she’s “polarisng” or “unelectable”. These people are saying either: 1) that they harbour an irrational hatred of Palin and are ashamed to admit it, or more seriously 2) that they genuinely believe that the MSM control the political process in a way that cannot be challenged or defeated.
People in the first camp should simply lighten up. We’re all pals here, and god knows we get every kind of idiot putting on displays, so there’s no reason for you to be shy. Put your feelings out in the open. You may even convince us to take a more critical look at her, if you can show us why you feel the way you do. Or, you might learn. You have nothing to fear except foul-mouthed abuse by the metric ton, and you get that anyway simply for visiting this site.
As for the others, your position looks to me to be plain wrong as a matter of fact. If media coverage dictated the vote, Ignatieff would be prime minister today, and there wouldn’t have been a Republican president since Eisenhower. But further, it’s wrong as a matter of philosophy. If you concede that the MSM can make Palin unelectable, you concede that they can make absolutely anyone unelectable, and at that point you’ve made your own interest in politics meaningless. If the network news decides who wins, everything you do and say here, or indeed anywhere outside a television boardroom, is a waste of time. So why are you here? Why are you anywhere other than deep in the bowels of a TV network, which is the only place you could hope to make a difference?

Nice try. Any connection between Ms Palin’s inanities and historical veracity are, at best, inadvertent.
But keep trying. Idiots of the small dead teabaggin’ variety are the most useful by far.
@phil,
“Veracity” does not mean what you think it does.
Sarah Palin not only lives rent-free in liberals’ heads, she keeps re-arranging the furniture.
