    The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English
    will be the official language of the European Union rather than German,
    which was the other possibility.
    As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that
    English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become known as “Euro-English”.
    In the first year, “s” will replace the soft “c”. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.
    The hard “c” will be dropped in favour of “k”. This should klear up konfusion, and keyboardskanhave one less letter.
    There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome “ph” will be replaced with “f”. This will make words like
    fotograf 20% shorter.
    In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spellingkanbe expekted to reach the stage where! more komplikated changes are possible.
    Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
    Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent “e” in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.
    By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing “th” with “z” and “w” with “v”.

  8. So I was looking at the video again, and the person they arrested.
    So once again I ask, how the heck could you say 40 year old WHITE MAN was the suspect from that video. About the only thing that was correct was that he was male. Just looking at the body made you think the person was younger, or a very fit and thin 40 year old.
    Now Pakistani’s are very similar to northern europeans from a body type etc. but why WHITE when they didnt really know.
    three possibilities
    1) Intentionally putting out false info so as not to spook who they were really after …..I sure hope this is the case as it would imply some thought and sophistication on the part of US law enforcement and Homeland Security
    2) Incompetence
    3) A desire to push a narrative…angry white male, tea party etc….I am atually somewhat offended being a 40 year old white male….
    Being neither a strong proponent of conspiracy theories nor a believer in consistent government capability I think option 2) is the best bet.

    Not necessarilly just German. Germany is in the process of an identity crisis but this “riding to the guns” is a more or less universal urge. The great game…..the ultimate rush…. rebellion….
    There are exceptions of course…..When the Communists started their failed coup in Indonesia…the male university students enlisted enmass…..being able to read and write was a death sentence unless a card carrying communist.
    It was said the DDR Police always went in 3’s. One to read…one to write and the other to keep an eye on the two intellectuals…..

    Probably, like you, I didn’t know there were two Concordias in Canada. If Ashley Callingbull was going to Concordia in Montreal , she’d probably be taking the Lysol-blogger to the HRCs.
    Coming from Alberta, however, she’s taking the common-sense approach, dismissing the troglodyte trolls as “immature and silly.”
