Is there…
India has warned US President Barack Obama that he risks “barking up the wrong tree” if he seeks to broker a settlement between Pakistan and India over the disputed territory of Kashmir.
MK Narayanan, India’s national security advisor, said that the new US administration was in danger of dredging up out of date Clinton administration-era strategies in a bid to bring about improved ties between the two nuclear armed neighbours.
nothing that…
The European Union warned the US yesterday against plunging the world into depression by adopting a planned “Buy American” policy, intensifying fears of a trade war.
The EU threatened to retaliate if the US Congress went ahead with sweeping measures in its $800 billion (£554 billion) stimulus plan to restrict spending to American goods and services
Obama can’t do?
“The United States will use “all elements of our national power” to deal with Iran, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Tuesday after Tehran said it had launched a satellite into orbit.”
On the rockiest day of his young administration, President Barack Obama did what surely made him happy for a while.
He left.
More – The Impending Obama Meltdown

Obama.
Making himself irrelevant.
One country at a time.
Overheard at the whitehouse:
“It’s so unfair! They don’t like me, they really don’t like me”
If nothing else the first tell all book from the first defector from within the Obama administration should be a doozy….
Has any president had a worse first two weeks – this guy is even worse than Rush feared. And this is the easy part – wait til he has to make a real decision or faces a real crisis. Obama being president is like me quarterbacking the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl. How long before he is picking his teeth out of the turf.
Fritz I have to ask the question does HE know he has had a bad week. Most of the problems I have seen him encounter are ones he created to a degree. I’m sure the basic question is “Did you pay your taxes?” or “Why didn’t Bush-Hitler let the Israelis blow the crap out of Iranian nuclear facilities.”
I guess the ‘test’ the loose cannon / ‘scrappy scranton Joe’ predicted for the mighty 0 in the campaign has arrived, sooner than expected, and the cheat-sheets have not been prepared yet…
no surprise that internationally he’s an empty suit but the havoc he can wreak domestically is mind boggling….
the poor lad is way out of his depth….how disappointing the concatenations will be for his acolytes…
i shall pray for them in the very same manner i pray for superduper K man …..
The really sad thing is that I have learned more in the last 4 minutes by reading the above links than all the people who voted for him have learned in the past 4 months or more.
None of the pro-O folks will ever know what has been shown here and posted about.
Whatever happens, he will continue to be the OWTSSOHA (One With The Sun Shining Out His Ahhh, you know the rest)
1. Why is India so belligerent these days? Its economy seems to be doing better than in the old dirigisme days. But with all the pressure on Pakistan regarding its al-Qaeda links and so on, perhaps India is taking the opportunity to get in a little more pressure of its own against its no. 1 enemy?
2. If the EU “retaliates” against the Buy America campaign, it will be hurting itself more than the Americans. The smart move is to do nothing and let the other guy hang himself. Same goes for Canada.
3. The Iranian satellite reminds me of the old bad news / good news joke on the Tonight Show about 20 years ago. The bad news: Iran has the bomb. The good news: the rest of their technology is so backward, they have to drop it off the back of an ox cart.
I recall telling my wife during the presidential campaign, “I almost hope that Obama wins, because it will be quite the train wreck to witness.”
I didn’t expect things to come off the rails so quickly. But, my god, who the hell has he hired to vet cabinet nominees? It seems to me anybody with a minimal amount of competence would have rooted out tax deadbeats from the vetting process. Of course, the cynic in me suggests they knew about these tax problems, and put forth the deadbeats for nomination anyways expecting to get a free pass.
Honestly, when a real crisis develops, I am not at all confident Obama has surrounded himself with people who have the ability to advise with any degree of competence.
Maybe it’s because I had such low expectations but, I think that he’s performing reasonably well. It’s been 68 years since a U.S. President walked into such a perfect storm of domestic and international grief. Let’s put aside the schadenfreud and pray that he succeeds in the big stuff, or the whole world will be in very deep shite.
How many of his promises has he broken already in only two weeks? His Cabinet is now full of tax-cheats and lobbiests – the most ethical Administration ever!
And Zog… seriously now, you were joking right? This has been the most pathetic start ever to a Presidency. Just imagine how bad it would be if the Left Wing Media weren’t on their knees for The Big Zero!
Kate he is also planning a meeting with Hugo Chavez.
I still think this is all part of his ‘uncle joe’ strategy – he knew buy America would not fly. More show for the loons on the left and the unions and no go for the pragmatists.
Sooner or later he is going to have to make one of these moves stick otherwise the KOS crowd will turn on him I just don’t know what or when and I doubt BO does either.
Pretty reckless either way and he is burning up a lot of political capital both domestically and internationally at a pretty rapid rate. To much more of this and he’s going to make we Stelmach look like a man of steely resolve by comparison.
Zog — it’s a perfect storm, yes. But, there’s a right way and a wrong way to deal with things. I’d suggest handing a trillion dollar stimulus package to the likes of Pelosi and Reid to oversee is the wrong way to approach things. Those two avowed lefties have thrown every liberal program, including the kitchen sink, into the so-called stimulus bill. This is why it is, rightly, running into so much opposition. Protectionism caused the Great Depression to last, according to studies, seven years longer than it probably otherwise would have. Yet, the Democratic congress has insert a buy-American clause into the ‘stimulus’ bill. These people have no grasp of history, and/or an unhealthy allegiance to special labour interests in the U.S. In either case, they are the wrong folks to be overseeing such a historically important spending bill.
Obama should have wrote the damn thing in the White House, with a team of economic advisors before bringing in the other branches of government. He screwed the pooch big time on this one, and he’s only two weeks into the job.
This, of course, is just my humble opinion. But, so far, I am unimpressed in the extreme with President Hopeandchange.
Has he met Putin yet? That ought to be fun.
Sure he has run into the perfect storm of economic, domestic and international challenges. But the point is he doesn’t think that is enough of a challeng. He is piling more and more onto it. And what he is piling on is certainly distracting – but not if you run away and play with the kiddies.
I hope his is able to surround himself with a good group of advisors – but the track record so far worries me. We need him to perform better and we should be hoping and praying for his success – without which we are in very deep do do.
“…”We were just tired of being in the White House,” the president candidly told the gleeful second-graders at Capital City Public Charter School.” (President Barack Obama)
“It’s easy to campaign, it’s difficult to govern.”

POTUS Obama’s on-the-job-training’s first “nap time” break.
I don’t support the little twit who is predictably overwhelmed by the job, well he lied his way into power, lets see him lie his way out of this mess. He is not my president.
The Democratic party in the U.S. has been taken over by Jack Layton types. It is now controlled by spoiled brat leftists who have never worked a day in their lives without Mommy and Daddies or tax payers support. Although brought up in a system that provided them with everything they prefer a system that throughout the world has denied everything to others. Obama will throw these folks off within the quarter… he has no choice.
O is upsetting the tobacco and the dog walking industries.
There oughta be a law …-
“Obama not smoking at the White House
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS”
“Another thing not happening on the White House grounds right now – dog walking.”
his press secretary got an ass kicking yesterday as well . . . looks like some media types, not the A-Team TV rypes but the less well known print reporters are reverting to form, smelling blood in the water and starting to act like a pack about to chew on BHO’s star kissed ass.
We.Are.F***ED.
Maybe some dim Dems are beginning to believe that Sarah’s experience isn’t so irrelevant after all. It shows that the big O has little experience to fall back on. I guess its learn as you go.
And herein lies the difference between executive experience and senatorial experience – the big deal used to regularly trash Palin. Senators don’t make significant decisions, except maybe to decide if they are actually ‘present’ or not). Governors need to make actually policy and procedural decisions on a daily basis and move on quickly to the next item.
Having a Harvard education is only a guarantee that you might think like David Miller on a bad day. None of his qualifications are a clue to leadership and its showing. This was one of the same sins the left accused Palin of – having to learn on the job. And, as was predicted. Biden is hung back up in the closet, nowhere to be seen.
Do I want to see the twit fail? You bet.But I sure don’t want him to fail at the most and only important job he has ever had.Whither goes the once great USA,so goeth Canada.I pray for both of us.This is not the time for petty politics and protectionism.Surely there is somebody in his cabinet who can slap him upside the head, and set him straight??
O-bservers and Mao Stlong aglee over O.
O is a catastlophe?

Colin: good point on the leadership or lack of it coming from the white house. On the biggest spending bill the world has ever seen he is deferring to pelosi and reid two politicians with near single digit approval ratings.
But really what did he campaign on other than the democratic party platform (except that he favours school choice and he has said diddly sqaut about that since november) he does not strike me as a guy who is spending timethinking about the things he wants done as potus. I will have to look into it more but ithink he may be the most vacuous potus from a policy standpoint since Harding.

Your point is well taken.
I believe that there is at least a 2 yr period that the new administration is stuck with the agenda of the outgoing.
Its good to see that you finally aknowledge the good work of GWB.
AND (read 911) the poor quality of Slick Willie.
“We were just tired of being in the White House,” the president candidly told the gleeful second-graders at Capital City Public Charter School.”
“We got out! They let us out!” Mrs. Obama said as the kids and their teachers laughed.”
Wow, only two weeks in office!
The economy crashing and Obama reads to school kids. I remember another President being hammered in the papers for doing something similar. However, this President’s emergency happened while he was reading to the school kids.
The ‘perfect storm’ in my opinion was concocted by his cohorts. They were the NINJA financiers in the Democrat party. That led to the credit crisis, which led to the bailout of pork. Vultures come home to roost. Now if he put Reid and Pelosi in an airtight box he may get better traction.
“The economy crashing and Obama reads to school kids. I remember another President being hammered in the papers for doing something similar. However, this President’s emergency happened while he was reading to the school kids.”
No,no,no,RFC.BushitlerMcchimpy was hiding out, planning the 911 attack.Don’t you believe Rosie???
Somewhere in Kenya a village is missing it’s idiot.
Funny he did’t just hide under the bed.
Predators can smell weakness. Obama is giving off the scent of a wounded rabbit by making noises about placating America’s antagonists.
“Er uh Jack and uuuhhhhm Jill, Uhhhhh Went up the , went up the , (hold on) er uhm, went up the uhm hill.”
You know Michelle always uhm says, To fetch a , to fetch a …(stick with me here)…
I think you have it all wrong.
Obama, as usual was looking for a challenge, and decided to face a tough audience, with tougher questions than he has been used to getting.
Network anchors tinkle on their leg when they face the Prez. No network anchor has had the temerity to ask the Pres to make a singular, definitive choice of anything let alone a favorite Super Hero.
Facing the public, unscripted, shows the Pres’ bravery and common touch. O!
The biggest gaffe was conveniently swept under the rug: Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner “forgot” or “neglected” or “misremembered” to pay some $42,000 in taxes. Now most folks in the US who do that find the long arm of the IRS around their necks. Sometimes they even get free room & board out of it: just ask Wesley Snipes.
However, when it’s a democrat nominee for the Secretary of the Treasury (the guys who RUN the IRS)… why it’s an “honest” mistake, and they give him the top job.
The irony and double-standard is stunning. So is the total silence on the part of the MSM, but that, anyway, is not surprising.
Obama: Too. Big. To. Fail.

Nobody thinks Iran deliberately waited for a post-inauguration satellite launch, right…right??
Hopefully the power behind the throne has their sh1t together, because Barry sure doesn’t. I just pray The One doesn’t go all megalomaniac and preemptively nuke Iran.
These primadona Lefties have a marked tendency to do stuff like that when they get cornered. That could be… bad.
If you look closely at the financial markets, the prospects of an “Obama Bounce” are also fading. Which leads me to believe that despite all the hype, investors are giving a decided thumbs-down to his administration’s economic policies.
We’ll likely see a bounce in the financial markets in spring/early summer, but it will be a narrow rally driven by internal market mechanics only. This will be seized upon by Obama’s supporters as evidence that his “stimulus” is working, but by fall the markets will continue their long grind downwards.
I don’t think that Obama’s behaviour has anything to do with having or not having experience. Experience won’t change him. I think it’s due to his psychological nature as a narcissist.
Obama’s life history shows that he is not interested in the development or analysis of policies, theory, infrastructure, logical cause-effect, history. These quickly bore him; we can see this by his indifference in the Senate. I suspect they not only bore him but he even feels harmed by them; focusing on issues depletes his energy, takes something away from him.
He focuses, probably unconsciously, on people. Not issues. His focus on people is on his ability to manipulate them to get them to approve of him.
However, he doesn’t get them to like him for his policies which would be an indirect strategy that would be hard for him to control. And it would emotionally ’empty’ him.
He uses the strategy of direct psychological manipulation via the emotions of rhetoric. In this sense, Obama operates in a ‘fictional’ world; one that he creates and controls. The world of policies is one that is out of his control and he stays clear of that.
As for policies, he leaves that to others. He is simply ‘cold’ to policies because they operate in intellectual rather than psychological zones. Why does he align himself with the socialists? Because their policies are populist rather than individualist. Their policies are based on emotional utopianism rather than realist economics, and are geared to emotions rather than reason.
He’s not interested in the policies, in their short-term or long-term effects as structural actions. He’s only interested in their emotional effects that give him control over how people think of him.
Obama has, in my view, a severe personality neurosis, that means that his decisions are not made for their effects in themselves, but only for their capacity to enable him to ‘make people like him’.
This leaves his governance empty, vulnerable and open to backroom political powermongering, to unaccountable agents. We can see this in the ‘stimulus package’ which is a dangerous, expensive hodge podge of Democratic special interest paybacks – rather than an economic stimulus structure.
We see this in his ‘choices’ of key positions, which were probably suggested to him by those backroom dealers who are steadily moving in and taking over governance.
We’ll see more of this, and more flip flops and other errors.
To help O B put his stamp on his administration, I have a suggestion.
Just to identify his “new” rigime, he needs to wear AC/DC’s schoolboy uniform.
That’s how unique he is percieved….
its not up to us mortals to question the way of the messiah, when the time is right his royal Obamaness will raise his hand, nod his head and everything will be right in the world
Victor Davis Hanson has an excellent article in the National Review, on The Impending Obama Meltdown.
Obama Meltdown
As Hanson says,
“This is quite serious. I can’t recall a similarly disastrous start in a half-century (far worse than Bill Clinton’s initial slips). Obama immediately must lower the hope-and-change rhetoric, ignore Reid/Pelosi, drop the therapy, and accept the tragic view that the world abroad is not misunderstood but quite dangerous. And he must listen on foreign policy to his National Security Advisor, Billary, and the Secretary of Defense. If he doesn’t quit the messianic style and perpetual campaign mode, and begin humbly governing, then he will devolve into Carterism—angry that the once-fawning press betrayed him while we the people, due to our American malaise, are to blame.”
My own view is that Obama’s psychological nature won’t let him drop the perpetual campaign mode. He freezes in the realm of policies and issues and only feels OK when he feels he can directly manipulate people.
Did I hear ‘The O-Mighty One’ say that he was going to make sure he did not “screw it up again”?
It was during an interview with Chris Wallace from FOX News.
The question was about how it looked to Americans regarding some of his appointments and the tax issues.
Our Prime Minister was chastised greatly for using such terminolgy. Funny how that goes, isn’t it?
another meltdown coming.

ET, because Obama is a narcissist which I agree with you he will process information and events incorrectly. It’s pretty self-evident now. He has no way of understanding that it’s not all about him.
He’s got some handicapping baggage that his own little shallow vanity autobiography underscores – a feckless immature mother, an abandoning father to whom he has misplaced idealism and what seems the lonely life of a kid shuttled to more responsible grandparents although he never made it to Grandma’s funeral which is odd. I don’t think Obama has ever been comfortable in his own skin as a male or bi-racial person.
Wiser minds in his administration will in time do an end run around his Chauncy Gardner shallowness, they’ll have no choice.
As VDH points out the world’s thugs are salivating over their good fortune. It won’t be long before that translates into something very bad for all of us. The press is simply not going to be able to carry water for him forever.
Gee, anyone notice the trolls have gone awfully quiet…..
I keep having to say this over and over to the Obabots, he is not from America, Obama’s roots are in Mumbasa, Kenya. What the hell would he know about US Policy, especially US Foreign Policy, and what does he do, he employs dayyam near eveyone of Hill and Bill’s rejects.
Hey Obama, don’t know who is advising you, but there is a reason all your Cabinet Picks are Ex-Democrat Politicians. They are EX’s because they 1) got caught with hand in cookie jar, 2) Voters voted them out.
Jeeeez,,, who has he got vetting these folks, oh yea, that’s right it was Caroline, who forgot to vett herself, 😉
Well, just wait till some Foreign Super-Power kidnaps one of Baracks numerous half-breed relatives for ransom that ought to be interesting.

I agree with you. This isn’t PC but oh well; your comment reminds me of the (stereotypical) female cop who has to show the bad guys that she’s just as tough as her male counterpart. She often tries to accomplish this by being extra confrontational; you know, getting in your face.
It reminds me of a comment on another thread that said “If you are a world class organization, you don’t have to tell people you are a world class organization”. IMO the same goes for “toughness”, those who flex the most are often the weakest and the most scared. Is BO weak and scared?
Hey Skip, I don’t think a Harvard Degree means squat if you got in under Affirmative Action.
