  1. John seems to be an articulate hoot. Open mouth, place foot in it, then start back paddling HARD!
From Johns blog “Through Small Dead Animals, Kate works feverishly to try and incite the us-versus-them, you’re-with-us-or-against-us, liberal-or-conservative mentality. Rarely in Kate’s world is there room for grey”.
To begin with “Rarely” is a relative word. I would personally add that Johns indecisive world of ALL grey is what has put our countries in the risky positions they enjoy today. Johns perfect people planet of centered neither right nor left, liberal or conservative neither man nor woman reminds me of any transexual decision maker – Tonight is it creamy breasts and succulent thighs or sweaty balls across the face.
It’s the same hypocritical language that blows through SDA every day “You losers take potshots at us perfectly centered grey area people, well we say your nothing but knuckle dragging, red neck Nazi’s that want to kill baby’s who don’t smoke pot and have the government pay your way. Just die and go away, so that big brother and John Lennon can tell us how to live because it’s a grey world out there”.
Yea, we will mind our own thank you very much John and others. That would include our “rarely grey” opinions to express on the “free speech for now internet.”

  2. Gormley is a fanatical windbag who shuts down any and all contrary opinions, and runs his show like a mini Guantanamo. Certain elements of the administration of this blog are doing their best to imitate our bald little buddy at 650 CKOM… the voice of the dissident Zionist.
That other goof in Calgary… Rutherford… and Gormley are elitist wannabes, however, that is a position one is born into, and no amount of ranting and raving and ass-kissing the elitists makes one’s blood blue, nor does it ingratiate one with them.

  3. Listen to Korney Kolt, 15 seconds of sneer and the radio is off. Got Adler, Gormely and Green and the rest is paid advertising.

  4. …and runs his show like a mini Guantanamo.
What part of his show does this idiot not understand?
It’s his; not yours and definitely not the collective’s. And he is free to do with it as he pleases, as Kate is free to do what she wants with her blog.
We live in a different world than these people. The world of results. The world of quality. The world of competition. The world of responsibility.
    The world of personal ownership.
This is what separates us from these twits.
I am an elitist as well. I am better than guys like Himpe and The Highwayman.
We conservatives are better than them because our values are better. There is no equality with these people. There’s no fairness.
We’re better because we think better. We know better. We live better, more moral lives.
There is no grey area here.
Highwayman and Himpe will never understand that.

  5. The irony for Mr. Himpe is that SDA has a wider audience and sphere of influence than either radio station or John Gormley. With much respect to Kate, Saskatoon and Regina aren’t exactly the centre of anywhere except two small population centres in the middle of a fairly large empty space.
Even as an SDA regular I’ve never listened to Gormley, wouldn’t recognize his face if I saw it, actually don’t care if I ever hear him. You can bet, safely, that in the population cluster(f*ck) of 2-3 million that I circulate in, not a single respondent in a man-in-the-street interview would recognize the name Gormley, let alone Himpe, or even of the stations. Sadly, I doubt any would know of SDA either.
The difference, though, is that Kate’s blog has viewer tentacles that reach deep into true seats of power and influence. Kinsella, for example, for all his partisan stupidity, is connected, in Bay Street and Ottawa, as are many other readers of SDA. Not all deep readers are friendly, but they pay attention all the same. Himpe cannot claim that for his stations.
What is telling is who does read SDA and where they go from there. If you run a blog of your own and link through SDA you will attract some of her traffic. A review of who comes to see from SDA is illuminating. Its not just the basement dwellers (in fact, rarely is). In my own case, its been the CIA, amongst others from the beltway and other true centres of influence. That’s the power of SDA.
Have a hissy fit all you want John Himpe, but you really are just a little drip in the flow that is Niagara Falls. No one will see you go over. Fewer will care if you survived the fall.

  6. Not that John.
When you are recognized as the best conservative blog, you just might tend to bring out the worst of the left.
Welcome to life at the top.

  7. I guess (as is usually the case with partisan numbskulls) you weren’t listening, Greek… no one is an elitist that isn’t born one… got it?
And, you are not better than me, because you like most of the idiots on this blog aspire to actions and thought that go against the very government of God, Who is just and merciful. His Son didn’t go around annihilating His enemies… but the Zionists of the day surely did! Guess what? Nothing’s changed in THAT regard!
And one other thing, dork; just because I don’t agree with you and most of the other fools that lurk under this rock, doesn’t make me irresponsible. If I were irresponsible, I’d just laugh (like most do!) at the partisan stupidity and bias that runs rampant on this blog, and go my own way without trying to shed some light on the dismal attitude prevalent here. I happen to be conservative in nature, but certainly not politically, nor am I liberal. I am apolitical, because politics has NEVER been an honorable profession!
So, sonny, if you want to play the condescension game, you’re on your own. There’s nothing honorable about you or your elitist-wannabe compadres, only your incredible penchant for gullibility and malleability in the hands of those that would never accept you as anything but the propaganda slave you are!

  8. T’would seem highwayman is truly a born elitist and as such is extremely offended by us mere mortals.

  9. “…aspire to actions and thought that go against the very government of God, Who is just and merciful. His Son didn’t go around annihilating His enemies…” – Highwayman
Uh huh. Well, I don’t think “His Son” would approve of you calling anybody who disagrees with you:
“numbskulls” “idiots” “dork” “fools that lurk under this rock” “stupid”
    Would he?
Do the world a favour. Stop blogging until you’ve educated yourself enough to form an actual opinion. You know, one not founded on ad hominem attacks, hypocrisy and conspiracy.

  10. The biggest difference I have noticed between the left and the right on the blogsphere is the censoring of comments. If you try to post a thought that does not fit into the group think on a neo-socialist blog, well, it just won’t make it on, sort of like an Olivia Chow poll, you can only agree, no tolerance for difference of opinion.
On a conservative blog if you disagree the crowd loves it! I often pity the poor trolls, like the Himpster, who come on to SDA with their condescending attitudes only to have their butts handed to them. Often they will fire one cheap shot and then never have the courage to answer all of the responses. Neo-socialists have trouble with real facts, they prefer the ones they make up.

  11. Highwayman “because politics has NEVER been an honorable profession”
That is pure shit. Without politics there is anarchy. Politics is not easy but it is necessary, and your attitude would land us back in the dark ages. There are good ones and there are bad ones, and there is a lot of honour in representing your fellow citizens in parliament. You need a thick skin and a lot of determination to make headway in politics – but it is honourable.

  12. Highwayman…
I AM better than you. Period. And you have now proved it… twice.
You may in fact be responsible, however, based on your last two posts, I suspect you may not be very bright.
Being “apolitical” is a cop out. It means you don’t have the intellectual or moral horsepower to form an opinion based on unwavering values and principles.
What’s worse is you use the Good Book as some sort of weird justification for being antisemitic.
It’s lefties like you that are wrong with our society. You see, all our enemies know what side they’re on. And for some reason you think not picking a side is somehow intelligent or prudent.
In today’s world (as it has been in the past) being apolitical is suicide. You people are the first ones to be led to the gallows. (While we conservatives are fighting our enemies on the front lines, trying to protect all our asses, including people who don’t deserve to be saved like you).
And finally, (and this line kills me)…
“So, sonny, if you want to play the condescension game, you’re on your own.
Is calling someone “sonny” condescending in itself? Hence why I believe your gerbils have quit spinning your mental wheel…
You’re out of your league here. Have you not figured that out?

  13. “Gormley is a fanatical windbag who shuts down any and all contrary opinions”
Do you actually listen to the show?
Gormley’s show is frequented by left of centre callers, many of them being regulars, who are given every opportunity to rant and express disagreement. 9 times out of 10, Gormley will engage these callers in debate. He seems to relish the opportunity to call them on their outlandish statements. Invariably, the leftists’ arguments degenerate into off-topic diatribes and Gormley wins the debate again …. without insults and name-calling. The only callers who are cut off are those frothing at the mouth, gnat-brained lunatics who have no interest in debate and refuse to shut up long enough for Gormley to offer some input.
Although I often disagree with Gormley for giving left-wing callers free rein to spout nonsense, I suppose he has the ulterior motive of allowing them to demonstrate the extent of their idiocy.

  14. Just had a quick look…the comment I posted on the 650 CKOM website in Himpe’s blog was not posted by the “moderator”. I guess their “terms of service” don’t include the posting of their ratings in the two cities of Regina and Saskatoon.
    So, here you go:

    CJWW 5.3 (6.2)
    Nice job Mr. Himpe.

  15. We think highwayman means “non partisan” not apolitical. Very different of course. He needs a vocabulary refresher.

  16. If Gormley qualifies as a conservative then the movement is in trouble. That goes for Rutherford as well. He has never seen a gov’t program he didn’t like, doesn’t mind big gov’t and as for more regulation…well bring it on. Gormley is an entertainer, nothing more. Not to be taken seriously.

  17. “His Son didn’t go around annihilating His enemies… but the Zionists of the day surely did! Guess what? Nothing’s changed in THAT regard!”
    Scratch a leftist, find a Jew-hating anti-Semite? Yeesh, that’s ugly.

  18. Yikes a person goes away fro a little while and comes back to find raving lunatics in the house.
Lefties are inherently wrong simply because they embrace ideology that is based on falsehoods.
The sad part is that so few ever come to realize their mistake. Rather they choose to immerse themselves ever deeper into the slime.
The irony is that they will present themselves as your moral superior while at the same time spewing vitriol and bile.

  19. Judging by his pasty complexion and his “in the dark” profile pic, little Johnny has not yet moved out of his mother’s basement.

“Are you suggesting all media outlets are alike?”
One of the people says, one, FOX, out of let’s just say MSNBC, CNN, HN, CBS, NBC, BBC, CBC, ABC, works out to practically speaking, all. As the saying goes “exception proves the rule”.
“Where would we be without the media.. You would have no idea what’s going on in the world, or in your own community.”
This is typical omission that is standard practice in the opinion media. That is not the point, the point is that the news comes as ‘raw’ so to say, their, the media opinion is irrelevant to the consumer.
“Don’t slam the media because you don’t like what’s going on in the world.”
Same as above, omissions don’t qualify for news.
“Newstalk is a totally Conservative station… Have u noticed a man named.. ummm. John Gormley? Lol”
If it can be called conservative in this country, it is the only opposition to the socialists, totalitarians and other assorted scoundrels.
“If Bush is being slammed, it’s based on stupid things he did as President”.
Let us see now, what did Bush say that is constructed as stupid?
“Sorry to inform you, but the man’s approval rating was 30 percent. That means 7 out of 10 people were most likely slamming Bush this week. Sometimes, if you think Bush is an idiot, it’s not about being “left-wing”.. it’s about Bush.. being an idiot”.
If the opinion media hammer for years on how bad a president is, those that don’t know and don’t know they don’t know, their opinion can’t have a real value, though it counts in a survey.
“ Haha. “Misunderestimate..” Type in Bushisms on Youtube.. can you still tell me he’s a smart man and great President?”
“Actually, it shows certain creativity and perhaps play on words on the Bush’s part. It is beyond any doubt what so ever, when Zero comes up with one of those, he will be some kind of enlightened genius if not outright messiah.
”Grow up already and don’t attack the media for doing their jobs.”
Media has not done and has absolutely positively no guts to their job in some, this is a rough estimate, 20 years.

  21. Let me rephrase that.
Not to tell the whole story does not qualify for news. Including omissions.

  22. “These two are BAD but they don’t hold a candle to Murry Wood. If you disagree with him you can’t get a word in.”
Although Wood occaisionally flirts with common sense, check out his behaviour whenever a caller makes a critical remark about the MSM and its obvious left-leaning bias. He goes absolutely ballistic and brings a whole new meaning to the term “defensive”.

“The biggest difference I have noticed between the left and the right on the blogsphere is the censoring of comments.”
    Great Point!!
What is the left so afraid of, what do they have to hide?

  24. Not crazy about the programing of the provincial Rawlco stations? Think its all crap? other than Adler, Gormley and Greene shows? The only thing, and I mean the only thing that affects anything in the world of Rawlco is revenue stream projections or lack there of. You would like to see the weekend infomercials stopped, maybe depth and balance to news reporting? Morons like Himpe reined in and corrected? Cory Kolt or David “taliban” Kirton get dropped? Far better to send email to the head of the “Borg”
That would be; Pam Leyland pleyland@rawlco.com or Mike Zaplitny mzaplitny@rawlco.com
The rest are meat puppets at best. Gormley, Loucks, Arnold, Herb Baumann are good guys and I wish them well.
    The rest can pound sand.

  25. At least Chef Malcolm, Rick the garden guy and the computer geeks stick to what they know.
The Himpes, Kirtons and Kolts should be reassigned to building maintenance and not be allowed access to a microphone … except to clean it.

  26. Skip.
I for one am from Ottawa (Ex-patriot Albertan… long story)
You’re right. I’ve never heard about this guy, whoever he is, and I’m a talk-radio junkie. I DO, however, know Kate and her work. (’nuff said)
Kudos to her. She’s earned her reputation. I suppose the other guy has kinda done the same. Sad.

  27. I agree with one of the comments posted at the end of Himpe’s blog that says the right will become a lot meaner. I know I used to think “live and let live”. Not any more. If you’ve pinned a liberal to the ground and have your foot on his neck, you NEVER let him up again. They do not play fair. So they are out of the game.
When I see CTV’s “Question Period” with Craig Oliver, Jane whats-her-name and three left-wing journalists summing up the events of the week, drinking each other’s bath water, interviewing EACH OTHER (!), they cause people to think that their’s is the only viewpoint. And that’s not a blog. That’s mainstream media.
Talk show hosts like Gormley and others, should ALWAYS do the same. They should have a couple of conservatives and a libertarian who discuss the events of the day ONLY FROM THEIR POINT OF VIEW. Stop giving the left any more time. We’ve paid for enough of it.

  28. Hmmm, was just going over my resume…let’s see, 9 years in television (ironically enough, at the same station he claims to have worked at, and just under four years in radio, including a stint as a morning anchor, as well as producing a daily one hour news program…Geez maybe I should submit my resume as a possible replacement for Himpe, and a guest host on John Gormley’s show so people wouldn’t have to listen to Murray (Let’s-see-how-many-words-I-can-say-in 30 seconds Wood.
