  1. I didn’t like the ad. I find it petty and quite unserious given the nature of the issues and problems facing the US right now.
I know that attack ads work – and in the right context they are OK – but this one doesn’t work for me.

  2. also, when they pillory this babbling bright fool they never remember to mention he was one of the few NOT to vote for the first alaskan pipeline just after the arab oil embargo of the 70’s.

  3. So. All other “Afro-Americans” (I hate hyphenated people) are illeterate, dim, dirty, and ugly???
And kaplan. Yeah. You belong back in the 70’s.

  4. If Palin can’t handle the smirking, predictable and generally not very smart Katie Couric, does anyone think she’s going to fare well against Biden, who I suspect actually knows a thing or two?
If Palin gives another cringe-inducing public performance, say hello to 4 years of Obama and a Democratic Congress. You can probably count on it anyway. Thanks God we’re Canadian.

  5. Carbuncle, ever heard of ‘editing’ video tape?
Erik, you are obviously a Canadian, or a very naive American. Have you heard of that new-fangled invention out a few years back? It’s called ‘television’ I hear.

  6. Gov Palin has an uphill battle and a lot of it is because the media and everything else is expecting either Wonder Woman or some other super hero because she is not part of the Washington inner sanctum. I watched the Couric interviews and although it wasn’t the captivating home run everyone expected, it wasn’t that bad. Everyone is setting the bar too high and if she does any less than perfect then she loses in the skeptic’s eyes. Biden can gaff all the way to November and nobody pays attention. I haven’t seen his face on the National Enquirer or People magazine, Hollywood hasn’t bowed to his mediocrity, and Lord knows the political geniuses at the View and Letterman haven’t found fault in the gaffer.
It is kind of like how Teflon Jean and Dijon get a free pass by Canada’s press and Lieberal sheeple. Remember the “hidden agenda”?
Personally, I’d rather trust Sarah Palin to clean up the crap in Washington than trust almost anyone that is there already and has been feeding from the hog trough.

  7. Doug:
Not sure what you’re getting at. You think CBS edited out all her coherent answers to the so-called “gotcha” questions and left only the bits where she sounded sophomoric and woefully ill-informed? Interesting theory. Not plausible, but interesting. By the way, I actually like Palin a lot.

  8. Texas Canuck:
I had to laugh at the suggestion by Biden:
    “Chuck, stand up-Chuck…”
to the guy in the wheelchair.
Was that healing the disabled, or inducing nausea…we’ll try to keep the spin positive.
I’m sure the disabled community is delighted that the Obamessiah’s disciple is going to get the lame to walk.
Joe Biden channeling the Messiah…it appears he has set the Democrats quite the challenge.
If Sarah Palin has to be something approaching perfect, Joe Biden has got his bead on miraculous healing.
Speaking about having a bead, I will have to give kudos to Dick Cheney, for firing the first shot in cleaning up the legal community while quail hunting!! 🙂
    Now that guy has MOXY!

  9. The Obama campaign is either deliberately or mistakenly running against Palin. They have concentrated their considerable forces, aided and abetted by an easily manipulated media, on Palin. They have convinced the world that she is the next President and that McCain has a short life expectancy and will not live out his term.
A basic rule of selling that always worked for me was to sell the weak points of your product and let the strong points take care of themselves. If McCain’s campaign can sell Palin as a valid Presidential candidate they will win in November. All they have to do is convince 10% more people that she is up to the job. The Obama people have allowed the McCain campaign to compare Palin to previous Presidents who lacked the same type of experience. They have made the mistake of allowing McCain’s campaign to compare Palin and her record favorably to successful past Presidents like Clinton and Truman.

  10. Shit…she kept saying nookular just like Dubya and repeated the dis-proven fiction that Ahmejinedad said that Israel should be wiped off the face of the map. She needs to do better than that.

  11. Watching the post VP debate discussions on CNN, all week I’ve wanted to slap Paul Begala.
But tonight he says Palin did all right. Dang, you just never know.
