Where the hell’s my handmaid at?

Threat of “Christian theocracy” taking over America based on out of context quotes by obscure, unorthodox authors, presented in bad faith by smart but inordinately paranoid and angry people trying to sell books of their own.
But you knew that, of course…
Special bonus irritant: those violent verses in the Bible compared to those in the Koran.
(Kate asked me to help maintain a certain level of snark and provocation in her absence. Just followin’ orders…)

  1. Although the to link takes deep into the article, backtrack to the first paragraph and you’d think it was describing the global warming crowd.

  2. As I’m sure many of you are aware Titanic director James Cameron has just come out with some Da Vinci Code-style bunk about Jesus being married and having a kid, there being no resurrection, etc. You know, the usual stuff.
The interesting thing to me is the non-reaction of Muslims. You know how when push comes to shove they make the laughable claim that Jesus is one of their prophets too.
So you’d think that the people who go nutso cuckoo over some line drawings of old head-hacker Mo would be up in arms over this one.
Except that Cameron’s project serves their purposes – Muslims believe that Jesus walked the Earth preaching Islam, that he’s not the son of God, and in fact they really just use him to justify their own religion and to de-legitimize Christianity.
So you’ll not hear the Muslims go ape shite over Cameron’s latest. It suits them just fine.
Keep that in mind when you hear a Muslim say that Jesus is one of their prophets.
