  1. I don’t want to hear any complaints from anyone who voted Green, NDP or Liberal in the last federal election, nor from anyone who wants us to get off fossil fuels.

At the very least they should be last in line.

But who am I kidding, they’ll be the loudest whiners.

  2. They’re going to limit gasoline purchases to 30L per visit. Doesn’t that just mean there will be long line ups for fuel because people have to buy gas two or three times as often?

At least until it runs out and go all Road Warrior anyway.

    1. In Victoria there’s hour long lineups for gas right now. By next week the whole place will shut down. This is the green future everyone was hoping for.

I still say that although I agree with the sentiment that idiots in Vancouver deserve this so damn much it will cause huge problems throughout the country. I doubt Toronto will be affected because they just sit back and collect pay cheques from everywhere else but the rest will suffer.

    2. Ding Ding Ding Ding.
Indeed, watching the shenanigans around here, hour long lineups for fuel.

These same people vote energetically for the NDP, time after time.

I filled up Monday night here, there were no lineups, but the Malahat was closed by then, and it made sense that gas shortages would happen, as the tankers come from the up Island tank farm……pantry is always stocked too.

Damn, being a Real Conservative hurts……….Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.

      1. Dan, They don’t fail to plan. They just wait until the disaster has happened, to then rush to get organized.
After all, it’s the only fair way to do it, when everyone (or almost everyone) is doing the same thing. Now excuse me, I’ve got to see if I can squeeze one more roll of toilet paper into that cupboard. 🙂

      1. Thats a good one-is the a worse politician than Mike Flatulence?

    3. RS, they will have to stay in line as they will use the gas they are going to get to stay in line.

  3. Relax, we can get gas from Cherry Point in Washington too, in fact we often do.
It’s not like it HAS to come via the TMP.

      1. They may not rely on tmp but they don’t have the capacity to make up for the refinery in Burnaby being cut off. Prince George is out of the picture because we can’t truck or rail gas into the Vancouver area.

      2. There are these giant floaty things that show up there full of oil too…what was it they were called again?

        1. Just wait and see. There’s no terminals in Burnaby to feed the refinery and it takes time to get an oil tanker. Yes this isn’t something that’ll last months but it will be a tough few weeks.

          1. There is a fuel dock at Burnaby, which is used to fill barges that supply the coast communities and (maybe) Vancouver Island. So this disaster will be felt in many communities.

I doubt that the pipework is suitable for deliveries however. So reliance on trans-mountain is absolute.

          1. Like the required PCR test for border crossings <72 hours, the Baked Potato will make exceptions for his Lieberal-voting commie buddies. If this happened on the prairies, he'd tell us to eat cake.

      1. You’re Right Art, nobody in the Canadian government could plan anything. The problem is the Canadian government is taking direction from elsewhere. Where or who is anyone’s guess but I’ve got my suspicions.

  4. Have family in the lower mainland; were supposed to be there today at a once-in-a-lifetime reunion with spouse’s sister in from Europe and all other family foregathering in Chilliwack to celebrate spouse’s birthday (and that of the sibs who also have November birthdays) . Obviously didn’t happen as would have had to fly into Abbotsford and no boats available for the eastern journey. Given the years of the various family members, it’s very unlikely we’ll ever have foregather again except for a funeral, and then at least one of us won’t be there.

That being said, have mixed feelings about the fuel shortage. Have already heard from the Chilliwack clan – will advise them to top up and get 5 gallon extras if can – but am not so sorry for the Vancouver greenies who are, all of a sudden, realizing that unicorn farts haven’t been delivering supplies to their local shops all these years.

  5. Highways closed to white people, exercising Treaty rights gives you a pass according to article.

Is this a big deal or isn’t it?

  6. L – The perfect opportunity for the anti-car-bon Prime Minister, Megalomaniac the 2nd, to issue a command under Emergency Order d’arbitrary; which bans internal combustion engines from Vancouver, and reinstates both trolley-cars and penny-farthing bicycles for the *commoners.

*(commoner: someone unable to afford a Tesla)

  7. Just went out for a drive in the Beast to replenish the bar.

6mile Shell and co-op out of gas, but Chevron and superstore were selling just fine.

No shortage of diesel here though, but the Beast has 3/4 tank, good for awhile, and here in Vic, the Greentards now prefer EVs over diesel. Most Victorians will do what their Dear Leaders say, stay home, dont hoard, get their boosters. Baaaaaaa Baaaaaaa Baaaaaaa

  8. Hopefully Trudeau will dip a wing to show his support on his way to Tofino. Kawabunga dude!

PS: if it’s any consolation, no lineups or rationing here in Alberta. Wonder if gas prices will go down here now?

  9. And that friends is why you keeps a years worth of food, a slip tank a diesel and everything else you might need to get on in a locked sea can…

Out of sight and on high ground…

  10. You will take it and you will like it and you will smile and say thank you

“The order… also includes fines for anyone caught being “abusive, threatening or belligerent” to gas station employee”

And there had better be nothing bad said about dear leader either

  11. There is a saying, be careful what you wish for, you may get it.
In this case, as in most, you may get it will be changed you will get it, guaranteed.
And for all practical purposes, you can take that to the bank.
    Heh, heh, heh.

Now one can wonder what do these people think of the dirty oil.
Maybe they will just put more clothes on and walk.
    Yeah … right.

    1. Not only did BC wish for this, they voted for it! The Communist leader, Horgan, surely sported a wide grin while he lap danced anti-oil Trudeau while discussing the cancellation of the twinning of Trans Mountain. You fools in BC have made this happen and have alienated the very people that could have and would have jumped to your aid. Sucks to be you, but enjoy it, you planned it.

  12. Leftists will get angry about the gasoline shortages, but it will only fuel their desire to have a government force everyone to go “green” quicker. They are incapable of thinking logically or taking personal responsibility.

  13. It’s almost like God is showing us first-hand what the “elites” have in store for us…Are the people in BC who aren’t in a constantly mind-altered state so stupid that they’ll keep voting Green/NDP/Liberal after this event?

  14. Here in Washington, Hiway 544 Everson bridge is one lane alternating. Hiway 9 south of Everson is closed because 1 lane, no where near a watercourse, is washed out. Within 2 miles are the rock or gravel pits they will use to fill that hole. It could be filled in a couple hours with a loader, compactor on excavator, and 10 or less truckloads.
But, It is not. They could have an immediate reduction of 33 +% traffic through Everson but for this simple fix.
As it is, all the gravel that would normally be called out from these pits now has to take the long way around.
I, for one, am not impressed with this lack of management.
Maybe they couldn’t find enough people to take the jab or possess a negative test to assemble the 5 guys that DO the work, and the 10 people they would need to call a Crew of doing the work……

    1. Hey!
      Don’t dis the government’s re-construction efforts!
They have to find companies with the correct friends, err, umm, expertise to rebuild the roads.
This bureaucratic effort takes time. It is the weekend, after all.
