New Governor, Same As The Old Governor

Lee Humphrey;

Recently Canada was selected to host what is being called a NATO bank. Its official name is Defence, Security, and Resilience Bank (DSRB) & its mission is to provide low cost loans to NATO members & allies (read Ukraine) to purchase weapons. No country has committed actual dollars to fund the bank other than Canada.

So the word on the street is that Carney gained the support of the EU based NATO members to become the host for the bank by assuring them that Canada would buy the joint Norwegian/Germany [submarine] bid. That’s $100 billion taxpayer dollars being used to gain a prestigious (in Carney’s mind) bank which inflates his status in NATO.

Reuters;

“My prime minister said we should not aim for perfection before launching this initiative, that we should rally the countries that are ready to be called founding members, and then the membership will stay open,” Hudon said.

The project’s fate remains uncertain without the backing of nations crucial to it securing a triple-A credit rating.

  1. Europe/NATO are functionally broke, with dying economies, strangled by regulations and massive energy deficits.
    Doesn’t the Great Economist™️ understand basic economics?
    Canadastan will end up holding the bag of its grifter frenz and “members”.
    Marx Carnage will be the death of this country, hanging out with new deadbeat friends usually results in getting beat up, and having all your stuff stolen or destroyed.
    Foolish, foolish, foolish.

  2. Once again, Carney dances to Europe’s tune. It’s no secret that he wants to be among the unelected people who run Europe from Brussels, and if he has to spend our money to burnish his reputation, so be it.

  3. Even worse than the waste of money is ending up with German non-nuclear submarines. What is Canada supposed to do with those?

    1. Yup!
      These things will be way obsolete in 12 years.
      The CAF should be embracing drone technology.
      Drones don’t just fly.
      They could sensor the whole arctic ocean for this kind of coin.
      But Liberals don’t care about what the money buys, just that they’re seen to be printing it and spending it.
      May as well burn it.

    2. Israel’s Dolphin 2 subs also built by TKMS are about the same size and are air independent as well like the 212’s Canada is getting. The difference is they are more effective and cost less. As well they have 650 mm diameter tubes to launch nuclear weapon cruise missiles while the Canadian version lack these as they have the standard 533 mm torpedo tubes so short range anti ship missiles it is. The only way around that is a bigger sail with vertical launch tubes like the last of the Israeli Dolphin 2 subs. Wait and see I guess.

      For Israel only having to defend a small portion of the Mediterranean Sea and a small part of the Red Sea/Indian Ocean a 70 meter long sub that can stay at sea for 30-40 days makes sense. For Canada and its huge coastline and waters it makes more sense to have nuclear subs like the US, China, France and the UK. If you are going to spend $100 billion, do it right.

      India already has nuclear subs and Australia and Brazil all big countries like Canada are bulding nuclear sub fleets. What do they know that Carney can’t figure out?

  4. the consensus seems to be this, so l will put it this way, mr banker is doing the kind of thing bankers do, he increases Canaduh’s debt by taking on the debt for another nation.
    on the surface (pun intended) it doesnt make sense, but to p,m, banker it makes all the sense in the world.
    and Canaduh DEMANDS that *he* be the one making the decisions? l have nothing but contempt and unending scorn for this post national state.
    and the thing about drones? that IS the way to go, the digital technology, the efficiency of the electric motors, economies of scale to put 100s or even 1000s of them on the battlefield, autonomous and lethal.

  5. A NATO bank is like putting a hat in the middle of a restaurant table where 20 people are having dinner to pay for the meal. The deadbeats (Ukraine) will order the lobster and filet mignon and hope the others around the table will pay for it. But its potential for laundering money is probably its best feature.

  6. Carney just looves the EU where’s pretentious posh/aristocracy + eco-socialism and righteousness. Carney has always been fond of this crap. Coupled with the fact that he’s an untalented finance guy + an accomplished moron, the recipe spells BIG trouble for Canada. He will bankrupt us and he will blame Trump & MAGA of course.

  7. NATO should have disappeared in 1991. The desperate bankrupt welfare states of the EU that need the war with Russia distraction and are talking up conscription, need a leader like Carney or better still, Hillary Clinton with an assist by Victoria Nuland. Going to war is apparently easier than addressing the follies of multiculturalism and the demographic consequences. Pushing Putin hard enough could result in a demonstrational nuking of one of their capitals. Would they retaliate and go full Armageddon? The insanity runs deep in the twitching corpse of the remnants of western civilization.

    1. Very well said.

      I’m a bit disappointed that the Americans haven’t just said “Enough!”, though. They are the only ones who can really end the Ukraine debacle (ironic, they also being the ones who started it).

  8. A chicomm puppet state financing NATO. Does it get funnier than this?
