More of the same

Change may be in the air, but how substantive will it be? Judging by the agenda being promoted by this CPC candidate in Nova Scotia, not much. The solution to Canada’s health care woes is apparently even more money and micromanagement from Ottawa:

But issues with the health-care system pre-date the pandemic. The physician workforce is aging, Ellis explains, an issue complicated by younger doctors who want a better work life balance with a smaller patient load, while patient needs are getting more complex. He says there’s a need for “federal oversight in terms of how we begin to look at recruiting and retaining primary care providers.”

  1. Adolf The Gay Nazi was lying up a storm today in Welland. He explained that O’Toole was going to privatize health care. He also ranted quite a few times about O’Toole being Trump’s buddy. And of course the media were agreeing with him.

  2. Killing off the boomers with the whuflu and clotshot will do wonders to restore our healthcare system. If you’re a boomer and still alive, get the clotshot and every booster they offer.

  3. The health care in Nova Scotia is disastrous. You cannot find a doctor for 100 miles. The main reason people in NS elected a Conservative premier last month was his focus on health care. Obviously neither he or O’Toole will solve the problem of a mostly white population in NS (and anywhere else), because beiing old + not breeding = dying.

    1. Agree with John70 100% its a disaster. I live in SW Nova and have been on a largely useless waitlist (see link https://needafamilypractice.nshealth.ca/ ) for a family doctor since 2007, because the doctor I did have (competent South African guy) I heard took a job somewhere else as soon as his pre-hire commitments expired. My wife managed to be accepted as a patient with a decent female family doctor for several years after that but no such luck for me. Since 2011 she has been on the wait list too and we are consigned to packing a lunch to take a number and spend the day at the regional health center if we have a health problem and need to see a doctor. My wife recently had a bad case of psoriasis in her legs and it took almost 18 months to finally attend an appointment with a dermatologist. Touch wood we are lucky to be in our 70’s and generally healthy so we havent had too much entanglement with Nova Scotia Health Authority.

  4. Conservatives are inherently better at managing socialist monopolies because more central planning is their solution? The CPC apparently knows no bounds when tilting to the left but will mercilessly expunge any renegade nominee or caucus member promoting that nasty L-word (Liberty). Whatever the final vote count is after the 20th, I hope O’Toole will look at that 3 to 4% PPC vote and wonder how much of that he could have had were his party a big tent conservative party rather than a mushy center-left party seeking the mindless mushy center-left tiring of the Spawn and his NDPish leadership.

    1. What we need to keep in mind about Erin O’Toole is he’s not Trudeau, that’s all that matters right now.

Trudeau is already a nightmare, can’t imagine how much worse it will be if we vote stupid. We have no hope if that happens. It will be easier to deal with O’Toole than another term of Liberal arrogance professing to take care of us and know what’s best. They’ve proven they don’t.

      1. So Liz, you will line up for your vaccine passport as long as it isn’t Trudeau forcing you to do it? There is never a choice between two evils. Evil is evil and has to be dealt with not accepted as the lesser.

      2. In a minority situation, O’Toole will be a short-lived lame duck PM either catering to the NDP or post-Trudeau Liberals and we will be back in election mode in another year or so. There isn’t much chance of a majority but I was wrong about him being where he is in the Polls. The media is now trying to peal off NDP votes toward the Liberals to keep the “boogeymen” from winning. The Spawn’s media have slacked off and now they must work overtime as they have an election to win. Either way, without his half trillion dollar future taxpayer-bought majority, the Spawn has more to worry about from establishment-Liberal knives than O’Toole.

      3. Liz, O’Toole is not Trudeau, he may very well be worse. Pretending to be a “conservative” is far more dishonest than Trudeau’s actually, if stupidly, being a Liberal. Campaigning on Trudeau’s agenda – vax passports, carbon taxes, no change to gun grab – in order to flip a few Ontario seats will ensure O’Toole does not win a majority.

Right now, I am working hard for my #PPC candidate. It would be a surprise if he wins this NDP/Green riding, but I will go to bed on September 20 knowing I voted my principles. If I voted for O’Toole I would know I was voting for Kinsella levels of cynicism and hypocrisy. Max is going to surprise Canada.

  5. Parents coddle their kids and make excuses for bad behavior and laziness. Teachers fill them with absurd Woke ideas that kids know are all complete nonsense. Universities concentrate on gender studies and social justice. All of them push the Climate Change narrative that tells them that they’re going to burn up in 12 years anyway. Going to school, at all levels, has become thoroughly unpleasant and makes the student angry and frightened. Why would any kid be willing to hit the books for six or seven years and try to thread his way through all the corruption to get an MD?

    1. I can think of one reason. To get the hell out of Canada.

Every graduate of Canadian medical schools worth his degree leaves at the first opportunity for the States, where he can enjoy better weather, better pay and lower taxes.

      1. Where the hell are they going to go. Florida and Texas are about the only free states in the damn country. How long they will remain free is questionable. When the medical profession CANNOT EVEN FIGURE OUT WHAT NOT TO DO ABOUT A VIRUS THEN IT ISN’T WORTH SHIT. The few pockets of competence are being totally ruined by government interference and the doctors are bending over.

  6. If 400,000 migrants a year are going to enter the country do we not need to add at least a thousand more doctors every year?
Oh. I forgot, different/unrelated government pods.

  7. The bureaucrats run the government. To them, politicians serve only to pass laws enabling the bureaucrats to rule over us.
Anyone that might say “no” is a threat to their reign. Thus, federal civil servants support the Lieberals. Provincial bureaucrats always want the NDP.
Anyone who might make the bureaucrats serve the public instead of rule will be attacked and vilified in the media.
O’Stoole is caving to the MSM and bureaucrats simply to get power. He has not one fibre of conservatism in his existence.

    1. Too bad the people of Canada lost sight of the fact that we own them, not the other way around.

  8. Government control has screwed up medical care beyond any possible repair and it will cease to exist if the government strangles it anymore than it already has.

    1. I agree.
Put on a mask for hours in itself is difficult. Add working on top, you have many burning out.
On top of regulations that fine your ass or fire you should you make a tiny error…like breathe.

  9. I have heard the same lies from politicians for decades now and it is always the same bullshit yet the voters are seemingly dumb enough to think anything will change. Well, this time it is changing, we are turning into something worse than Nazi Germany of the 1940’s. You think not? You are not paying attention. Vaccine passports are illegal under all human rights laws. The untested shots called vaccines are in violation of the Nuremberg Code. We have a serious problem and it is not a virus, it is tyranny and I will not live under it no matter how stupid my fellow Canadians are. You, all of you, who think we are headed in the right direction will have to kill me personally. There is an insanity here that cannot be quantified and it will destroy the lives of all who accept it.

    1. now, now, to be fair, we don’t know if Justin Trudeau only does it when he’s dressed up in “brown-face”

  10. Healthcare should be an election item.
For it is dead, stone cold dead.
We do not have public healthcare.
    We have public waiting institutions.
Supporting a massive self serving bureaucracy.
This Dread Covid Theatre should have forced Canadians to recognize the obvious facts.

    Supposedly we have a pandemic.
    A major health emergency.

Hence “Just two weeks” to save the Healthcare System..
By shutting down damn near all access to healthcare for near two years..
The priority of our Government Morons has not been to “Save the sick and at risk”.
They have built no emergency hospital spaces, trained no extra staff and crucially developed nothing as a standard treatment..
But to save the “Healthcare System” they have happily stripped us of all our rights and freedoms..

    Yet you cannot save healthcare.
It has been a Stumbling Zombie almost from its inception.
Now this undead monstrosity consumes over 50% of our wealth,as those who pay for it die for lack of trained staff and hospital room.
The naysayers were right,so we erased them from history.

We no longer have Health Care Personnel,we have Government Minions..
Who care naught about disease and death, for obedience is their mantra..
    Save the “Healthcare System”…
Take your Government Goo,it is double plus good for you..Oh not two you need 3 jab, triple plus good..no wait 5 yes 5 ought to do it..
Any citizen with less than 6 jabs are now considered “UNVACCINATED”..
Or is that anyone with a pulse after this Christmas?
We cannot unsee what these fools have shown us.
They must be removed from every position of power.Punished most savagely and forever forbidden from holding power over anyone ot thing.
There is nothing more dangerous to civil society that fools with delusions of adequacy, this has been the “teachable moment” of Dread Covid Theatre.

    Banishment works.
If the majority prefers insanity, then we must banish ourselves to the nation of Buffalo.
If other then we shall banish the evil minority to the geographical center of Canada, where they can enjoy the Global Warming they so loudly assert is real.

  11. L – Doctor shortage in Canada is a problem:
    1. Inspiring to serve others as a sacred duty and training said Canadians as physicians, or

    2. Importing doctors from “diverse” cultures ?

Which solution is best? You be the judge !

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Bail hearings have wrapped up for 10 people accused of acts related to the human trafficking of underage girls.

The final judicial interim release hearing was held Monday afternoon in Lethbridge Provincial Court for Dr. Ziyaad Noor, a practicing family physician in Lethbridge.

He was released from custody on numerous conditions, although the specifics of which are protected under a publication ban.

  12. Oh brother. Saw the title and I just knew it was about one of the Atlantic Provinces. So what did O’Toole promise now…an extra lobster or two for the quota? We’ll be firehosing cash into those backwaters long after we’re gone. Typically what happens when the Federal and Provincial gov’ts are your biggest employer. And frankly I don’t know why they’re crying the blues over others coming in to buy up land and jacking up the prices, making 80 yr.old Seth McFart’s ocean side two room shack on five acres with no running water into a goldmine. I get that rent is going up but it isn’t Mayberry anymore. Get over it. And if there’s one thing that place is in dire need of is people from other locales with a fresh approach and *gasp*… maybe, just maybe, a demand for better services, y’know, like access to healthcare and other amenities – which of course they’ll inevitably pay for via property taxes once municipalities and the Province clues in that beavers aren’t the only animal you can skin.

When I was visiting Nova Scotia I happened upon the Sutherland cottage…very nice. Not bad digs for socialists. Think they use Canadian healthcare when they’re there? LOl…no, sadly not.
“Not feeling well Keifer?…I’ll fly you to Maine”.
And oh yeah, your climate sucks…finally solving the mystery as to why those in the medical field are loathe to go there. Hurricanes, perma-fog, rain and waist deep snow in late Spring and early Summer? Gosh…what’s not to like?

  13. Tommy Douglas should be living at this hour but the Greatest Canadian escaped before his time on the Best Health Care System in the WORLD came due.

  14. Regarding “getting more doctors”…
Our next door neighbour (in Barrie, ON; they have since moved to Victoria, BC) used to be a young couple, the husband was fresh out of dental school at Ohio State. One sunny summer afternoon he and I were enjoying a beer in the backyard and conversation got around to our career choices …why I became a _____________ and why he had chosen to become a dentist.

He said “I’d always been good and got straight A’s in the sciences, and my parents were really pushing me to become a doctor. But I didn’t want to work for the government and have a capped income, so instead of meds I chose dentistry.” He was Korean and his parents had seen communism up close.

BINGO! My neighbour was a capitalist not a socialist/communist and refused to become a government employee. That’s one key reason Canada has a doctor shortage but there are dozens and dozens of dentists available …so many dentists that they do promotions to get new patients with discounts and free whitening etc. etc. etc.
