It’s a novel coronavirus that has rapidly became pandemic at a global scale. Comparing COVID vaccine performance to measles vaccine performance is comparing apples to oranges.
Tdap vaccines are decennial. Typhoid vaccines are biennial (where typhoid is endemic). Seasonal influenza vaccines are annual. Choose to get vaccinated or don’t, I honestly don’t care, but arguing that vaccines “aren’t even vaccines” because they require regular boosters is simply ignorant.
First of all, Ted, this flu shot ( this very ineffective and experimental flu shot) does not meet the standard accepted criteria for vaccines given that the material used to make it is not inactive or dead.
It is also ineffective in creating sufficient antibodies to combat whatever strain pops up, hence the numerous infections and hospitalizations were are seeing now.
We also don’t know what after-effects this experimental flu shot has.
Having been vaccinated and inoculated against a number of things, I can safely say that I have never had to repeat shots every month just to leave my house.

It’s already been established that previous flu and cold infections offer a degree of immunity to the virus. That’s why the vast majority have been asymptomatic or had mild symptoms from the get go in early 2020. Not so novel. And certainly not anywhere near justifying the vaccination rates being demanded.

A person gets covid once. The “seriousness” of that person’s case is what it is. If they were invexxed there is NO WAY to know the level of seriousness that same person would have if they had not been vexxed. If cases before the vexxation were from “so mild you might not know you have it” to “get thee to the ER now” than that aspect has not changed.

You’re technically right, of course — for any one given individual, we can’t really know whether they will react to contracting COVID similarly or differently if they were vaccinated vs if they weren’t. In a study of one, there is no control group.
Which is why (a) pharmaceutical developers, epidemiologists, public health researchers, drug regulators, etc. study large populations, not single individuals; and (b) employ research designs like randomized control trials to look at statistically comparable groups that differ only on the treatment variables of interest (e.g. vaxxed vs unvaxxed).
So Ted, when the control group in the Moderna tests are told that they’re the control group and offered the “real” vaccine, and they accept it, will you still trust the long-term results of the Moderna study? How can a test be done without a control?

Yes there sure seems to be problem with the vaccines. At best, the protection is fading. At worst, the problems are with antigenic original sin, AOS. Even worse would be vaccine enhanced disease (antibody dependant enhancement, ARE, being just one subset of vaccine enhanced disease). There’s also some chatter that the vaccines are suppressing killer T cells, temporarily or permanently. The suppression of killer T cells will make a person more susceptible to other diseases, not just covid.

The full dataset out of Israel actually confirms that COVID vaccines work well at protecting against serious illness and death, but what it also shows is that the protection starts to wane after 6 months or so, especially as newer, more infectious COVID variants emerge.
The rise in breakthrough COVID cases, severe illness and death in Israel is being driven by older residents who were vaccinated back in the early days of 2021; comparing more recently vaccinated people (a younger cohort, by the nature of Israel’s vaccination program) against their (also younger) unvaccinated counterparts affirms the vaccine’s effectiveness. In other words, the Israel data don’t “screw up the narrative” that vaccines work, they support it while adding a temporal note of caution.
Or alternately, the vaccines don’t work and the Delta variant is weaker but more easily transmitted…..i.e., attenuated.
If vaccines didn’t work, you wouldn’t see the kinds of stark differences in per capital rates of hospitalization and death between vaxxed and unvaxxed folks.
It’s true that viruses attenuate over time as an evolutionary tactic to ensure its own perpetuation/survival, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with delta. Although the evidence isn’t yet conclusive, recent studies comparing delta’s disease severity and mortality against earlier variants suggest that it’s as virulent if not more so.

One thought to add, the protests are making a big mistake going to hospitals. There were 737 international flights into Canada in August with infected passengers and flight crews. They landed at Toronto 315, Montreal with 295, Vancouver with 79 and Calgary with 47. July there were 501 flights, no break down in the article. The flight crews had “no data” according to Health Canada..

I completed my own analysis of COVID-19 mortality rates today.
If you are younger than 20 and in good health, your risks of dying from C19 are bordering on negligible (<0.01% mortality). For goodness sakes, send the kids out to play already and stop freaking them out with this garbage. Vaccines aren't necessary yet, and are probably more risky than the virus.
If you're 20-29, go out and enjoy being young. Your chances of surviving C19 are exceedingly good (<0.02% mortality). Hell, go French kiss every willing, eligible, and attractive person of similar age you meet. It's the fastest path to herd immunity. If you die of C19, you probably did something to piss off the universe.
If you're 30-39, you've still got youth on your side. The C19 mortality rate is low (0.07%). Don't worry, but don't get cocky – hubris is the greatest sin.
If you are 40-49, you should go about your business as normal, but you should be aware of and monitor symptoms if you do get sick. The C19 mortality rate is low (~0.20%), and the therapeutics are pretty darn effective.
If you're 50-59, you're no spring chick. Act your age, eat your vegetables, watch your weight. Vaccines are not the worst idea, but the C19 mortality rate is still low (~0.67%).
You're 60-69, caution and vaccines are probably a good idea. You want to make it to retirement, and you probably will. The C19 mortalty rate is about 2.42%. Not bad odds, but not great.
If you are 70-79, be careful. The C19 mortality rate is about 7.22%. If you're active and relatively healthy, your odds are better. Otherwise, not so much.
If your 80+, C19 is dangerous, with a mortality rate greater than 20%. You're a target, and the universe is looking to cash your ticket. Give it double middles and go eat a steak and wash it down with good strong drink. Hopefully, you've lived a good, full life. If not, get cracking. The vaccines won't hurt your chances, but you're on borrowed time already.

Israel is using the Pfizer, which tests have show produces lower antibodies than the Moderna. The vaccines are performing differently and there is enough experience out there now to see that the Pfizer is going to require boosters more often than the Moderna, for example. The Johnson and Johnson seems to have more side-effects.
