  1. Bwwwaaaahahahahaha!
Passive-aggressive is as passive-aggressive does. Garth can be both shrinking and violent!
The second funniest line in this stellar example of “journalism” here:
It’s a dream scenario for Conservative hopes of building a majority, and — in Turner’s humble opinion — just not happening.
Self aggrandizing, manipulative, narcissistic, pathological liars are rarely noted for their humility.
I suppose Garth could be the first.
    Syncro

  2. “It seems to be going fairly well from our standpoint. We’re doing okay.”
Since politicians lie and spin as naturally as they brush their teeth these days, I’d say he’s full of shit.
During an election, saying “SEEMS to be going FAIRLY well”(caps mine)actually means he’s in trouble.
Politicians who regularly throw around the the phrase “when I’m elected” don’t say their campaign is just “doing OK” unless there is reason for worry.

  3. Almost as good as the classic Peterborough Examiner headline about the “secret ballet” some time in the 1980s.

  4. Some folks never get it, that spell checkers dew knot cheque for intent. You wood think they wood no that, know?

  5. “Are Garth and Charles Adler “separated at birth”?

Techically maybe… Garth was likely kicked out of the womb for acting up too much and ended up searching for a womb, any womb that would take him.

  6. atlanticgym
as a dyslexic I rite like that naturally, thusly I kneed a spell CHICK, naut a spell cheque:-))))

  7. One thing I detest about the Canadian political system is that it breeds the antithesis of individualism and great leadership. I do applaud the US political system for fostering some of those qualities.
Garth Turner is an individual and a maverick. If it was for the sake of his constituents I would applaud him but his purpose appears to be solely for his self-grandization.

  8. Garth is a disappointing floor crosser who believed he would benefit by way of a Tory defeat. He is an opportunist supreme and doesn’t know what he stands for.

  9. Notice that there was no mention of Garth’s little scheme with the ‘random’ family. Last election the riding elected a conservative,I hope they do it again.

  10. If you haven’t already, check out Steve Janke, seems like Garth pulled another one on CTV’s Canada AM. Just like he did with CPAC.

  11. Living next to Halton riding and knowing several people who live there, I must conclude that Turner is delusional if he thinks he’s gonna win on the 14th.
Most of these people are upper middle class who moved there from the GTA to take advantage of lower home prices and taxes. A lot of them work in Toronto and bring their earnings back to where it’s cheaper to live. Yes, there’s a few soccer-moms who are into this Green Shit stuff, but not enough to make a difference. As to child-care, most of them can well afford to pay their own
way. And believe me, they do. There’s more private day care and private schools there than you can shake a stick at. These people would never, ever put their tots in a government run institution.
Much as I dislike their superficial lifestyle and
endless pursuit of BMW’s and McMansions, I must admire them for their reluctance to buy into an
    equally superficial fool like Turner.

  12. please someone tell me that Garth Turner is not eligible for a pension or a package. He is not entitled to his entitlements.

  13. Garth and the pack over at garth.ca were slavering (or at least pretended to) for an election for the past couple of months. They claimed that things were looking pretty rosey for Dion and the Green Shift back then. I hope he still has a job AND a blog after next week. lol

  14. I happen to live and vote in Halton. Barf knocked on my door this weekend and handed out his campaign lite. I told the turncoat to get lost, but he was welcome to leave behind his campaign material so I could check it out in more detail long after the sight of his ugly backside was off my property. There was one full card on “Straight talk from Garth Turner on the Green Shift” one point really stands out and it states “What about natural gas and electricity? His answer is: “Odds are that prices will rise slightly – about $240 more a year if you heat with gas for example” Slightly is a very relative term, and I don’t know about you, but that would represent about a 50% increase in my heating costs at present. Who in there right mind would vote for that. No wonder Dion is pushing the green shift to the back burner. Too bad Barf didn’t get the memo (or ignored direction from the boss) about deep sixing the green shif. When I brought this card to the local Tim Hortons this morning, the discussion was summed up with, “vote for Barf, over my dead body.”
So long Barf and don’t let the sold iron gates on Parliament Hill hit your backside on the way out.
