  2. l posted an analysis regarding comparing temperature change in the volume of a typical house or room with a/c and the temperature change induced by the a/c exhaust into the atmosphere, which reaches roughly 10 miles up, that air space being mixed and blended by winds both sideways and vertically.
    like, seriously. for starters compare volume of ALL air conditioned space in a given centre, with total volume of the atmosphere above that land area. and THAT is ‘raising alarms’?
    it doesnt even make sense. but the want to KILL YOU dear citoyen, esp the olde timers more vulnerable to overheating.
    (how many of the olde timers VOTED for their killers? hmmm?)

  4. In 2024 … there were 3x as many deaths from heat in Europe as there were from gun homicides in America.

    Control guns … but don’t control your own indoor environment? In fact, the leftists DEMAND you die on their altar of global warming hysteria. They LOVE heat-related deaths as much as Gavin Newsom LOVES a nice global warming sparked [sic] wildfire. Because every heat related death is PROOF of global warming … and since it’s mostly old people dying … well … double bonus, eh leftists?

  5. The state is the gun and it is the only gun that should be controlled (or eliminated). The state, wrapped in green, around a red core, now controls access to energy which is life itself. Of course they will eventually disallow AC. The state is not “the people”.

  6. I just now read a short piece at Armstrong Economics (Martin Armstrong) that France is blaming DONALD TRUMP for 1300 deaths in France. As I said to my wife last night, imagine a modern industrial nation state banning air conditioning.

    As an aside, with the Iran war, my current theory is that Trump is indeed MAD but has been driven into madness by the insane level of hatred of a man with personality disorders that are not at all rare among the Hollywood, Academic, Media and DEMS.

    Summer 2022: Estimated 61,672 excess heat-related deaths occurred in Europe.

    Summer 2024: An estimated 62,775 heat-related deaths occurred in Europe, with Italy (19,038), Spain (6,743), and Germany (6,282) recording the highest numbers.

  11. So it’s the fault of the US that France and the rest of Europe is experiencing a heatwave. If so, have all European embassies in Washington, D.C. turned off the A/C in virtue signaling solidarity with EU leadership?

    Leftists are targeting air conditioning as part of the Green New Deal scam.

    First step is reducing government’s carbon footprint: all government buildings, including Congress, should have air conditioning removed. Government employees will be the pioneers of the Green New Deal in the workplace. Additional benefits beyond virtue signaling: 1) before air conditioning, Congress adjourned for months because WDC is very hot and humid in the spring and summer. This resulted in less loony legislation being passed. 2) such action should downsize the government via natural selection as the number of employees surviving heatwaves will be reduced “naturally”.

    Yes they do. And there is even a non-trivial, non-stupid reason: It is easier to ban air conditioning than it is to build new power generation and fix the aging electric grid.

    You’ll never hear a Lefty say that, they stick to their ‘saving Gaia’ story. But that’s the real reason. And that’s why Europe is banning air conditioning as well. Because they can’t be bothered to refurbish their 1950s electrical infrastructure. (There was a war, remember? All replaced in the late 1940s and early 1950s.) Spain lost power last winter due to grid failure, it just plain wore out and couldn’t bear the load.

    Always remember my friends, that if a Leftist’s lips are moving, they are lying. If they’re saying nothing, they are still lying.

      1. That’s right. They kept adding wind and solar to their already old and busted grid until she went down.

        As I recall the technical cause was “ringing”, essentially feedback in the lines leading to old wiring that was too small melting.

    And pushing other people around,strutting about in snappy uniforms and being insufferable parasitic jerks..well thats what lefties do.

  14. I worked in a gubmint building for a while. They shut down the AC on Fridays and re-started it on Mondays. As the building AC was not designed for this, and fighting the 90 degree heat the building had accumulated during the weekend, the goddammed thing broke most of the time, wasting moneyand manpower on repairs. In one part of the building a unit would produce a big, fat, ice blob that would block cold air circulation and grow over time. Of course it was perched up inside a suspended ceiling so that the dripping water would ruin both the ceiling tiles and whatever was below it. The place was an old warehouse, it was not built that way originally; turning it into an office space was what ruined it. It was emblematic of government: The units were working full blast but because the growing ice was blocking the flow, it was still 85 in the building. Making the AC work even harder.

  16. Posted on the other topic about evolving from the Stone Age but I’d like to put this in here. There is something to-day that we have refined from the Stone Age. Living in caves eons ago mankind found that caves can be cool in the summer and warm in the winter relative to the outside ambient air. We have reached an era in history where through our ingenuity we can recreate this phenomenon by using……ready for this…..geothermal dynamics. We can draw heat out of the ground in the winter and draw cooling out of the ground in the summer. Ta Da, we’re back in the Stone Age but with dwellings that offer a little more comfort than caves. The best part of all is that geothermal heating and cooling is cheaper than conventional heating and cooling.

    1. Antenor: Here in Alberta a neighbour and I compared our costs. Our houses built about same time and size. Their geothermal cooling was cheaper than my A/C. My natural gas cheaper than their geothermal heat pump. It was a wash. Yearly costs almost identical.
