  1. I think so too. It had nothing to do with infected birds, as most of them weren’t tested the gov’t isn’t in a position to say they were infected, I think the birds are still being kept at the Super Save lot in bins where they were taken after being killed (not “culled” as culling is “some were killed”)
It was a show of force, to force compliance.

“Here are some of the vehicles making their way to Kits Beach convoy style in protest of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s slaughter of 300+ healthy ostriches. ”

There are some people on X/Twitter saying the RCMP’s reputation is in tatters. I’d say it was ruined prior to this event. That Halifax shooting? Their inability to police the drug trade? Their unwillingness to arrest anyone from the #Libranos who has misappropriated funds. How many people arrested for torching churches? Their border idiocy in Alberta during the Covid protests?

  2. The executive branch carrying out the dictates of the legislative branch with the expectation of full backing from the judicial branch.

A power display indeed. Just like how they all dealt with Tamara Lich and Chris Barber.

  3. My experience with the CFIA as an idustry rep at one time decades back was that they were a corrupt and inward-focussed organization. You wouldn’t believe what I saw, but after this debacle, maybe you would.

  4. The analogy of “killing a chicken to scare the monkeys” hits too close to home.
This was a clear display/reminder to all of us opposing this same, cretinous Liberal government, of raw power, for power’s sake.
    Just like crushing the Convoy.
We do not live in a western democracy anymore.
It more resembles a Soviet/CCP system of authoritarianism.
    Prove me wrong.

  5. I agree. This was a display of power letting us plebs know we have no rights, we have no recourse with police and if we fuss too much we will be punished. I think slaughtering the ostriches the way they did was just to make sure the family farm and those who supported them had a demonstration of how cruel CFIA can be if you cross them. Not only did they kill the birds for no reason, but they decided to kill them in the cruelest way possible while the people who cared about them heard the shots and heard the birds screaming in terror sand anguish, just to be absolutely certain the message was sent.

I hear RCMP contacted the mother of one of the organizers of protests by farmers against CIFA and warned her supporting such protests could land her in the same position as Tamara Lich and based on that threat she decided not to attend the demonstration.

We are no longer a free country. It’s just most Canadians haven’t figured that out yet.

  6. Meh.
When they loudly and proudly tell you what they are and how much they hate you..
    Believe them.
Everything Government touches turns to shit.
Giving mindless minions, with delusions of power, any kind of authority never ends well.
They always are “Just following orders”.
Given the current state of thuggery,we will not be Voting our way out of this mess.

After the reset, when the west has separated from these bandits,we need to stand the institution of government on its head.
Minions of the state cannot be permitted the use of lethal force.
These people are minions by choice.
Only tax paying citizens ,legal adults, shall be armed.
Nor shall they be allowed to vote, their conflict of interest is brutally obvious and fully demonstrated as detrimental to civil society.

There is no law in Can Ahh Duh.
Just try to argue any charges made against you by the bureaus..
Hazardous spill legislation is a perfect example.
There is NO legal venue to oppose charges made under these regulations..
    Magna Carta be damned.
