   1. That’s a fascinating discussion, and one worth a lot of thought and consideration. I suspect current attempts to revitalize defense production are constrained by a move to recreate the manufacturing capabilities of the 1970’s and 1980’s. Newer machinery with greater flexibility and inherent productivity are certainly available. Then it gets down to a question of where newer, more efficient machine tools are manufactured, and I expect we are dramatically lacking in that regard.
