When I chose the title, I was referring to the deep pockets of taxpayers. There’s no way this boondoggle is ever going to turn a profit.
Carbon capture startup Deep Sky says it will build a commercial carbon removal facility in southwestern Manitoba.
Scroll down to examine Deep Sky’s track record when it comes to sequestering not just carbon, but tax dollars.
The Alberta carbon capture project was built at a cost of $58 million by the company, Deep Sky, which has received “investments” from the Alberta government ($5 million), two banks ($2.5 million), a grant from the Bill Gates Foundation ($40 million), with Royal Bank and Microsoft committed to buying 10,000 “removal credits.” On its website, Deep Sky, which also received funding from Investissements Quebec, pitches for more. “We’re looking for industry leaders who want to join our fight against the carbon crisis.”

I”m surprised that the First Welfare Nations aren’t involved as consultants for the sacred CO2 gas. Chief Big Screen TV needs his protection money … “Nice CO2 scrubber you got there. It would be a shame if something happened to it”.
“CO2 molecules are sacred to our people!”
It will create tons of wealth for certain politicians, bureaucrats and crony capitalists. As for doing anything of value, don’t ask.
“We’re looking for industry leaders who want to join our fight against the carbon crisis.”
WHAT CARBON CRISIS?
Well, once all the CO2 is removed we will have a wonderful green planet. Maybe not if all the plants are dead.
What geniuses!
Liberals could probably have captured as much CO2 if they had planted all those trees they promised. But sadly not as much grift in tree planting.
Whenever I see them use the words “crisis” or “emergency” it makes me want to vomit. If it were a crisis or an emergency, then China would not be building two new coal plants every week, at a pace that is faster than ever before. We’re two decades past Al Gore’s idiotic movie and they’re still using the words “crisis” and “emergency”.
Billions in tax funds exist simply to be wasted, as with (4X Solyndra) Ivanpah.

Can plants sue in a class action suit against vegegenocide ?
I love the carbonation of my beer.
Here’s Barney’s take:

If there really was a crisis, they would outlaw the sale of carbonated beverages and Soda Streams!
Just for kicks, I feel tempted to ask someone buying or recharging the cylinder of A Soda Stream, why they do not care about the environment?!
The final step will be to subject all that carbon to ultra, mega high pressure and turn it all into gem quality 20-40 caret diamonds.
These Deep Sky guys are the smart ones. Take millions of dollars from all kinds of suckers, build a completely unnecessary technology and process, hire all their friends and family to work for them, probably have no accountability to anyone and take home big fat paychecks and be touted as heroes in the glorious fight. Hi
Spend $200 million to build a facility that will consume between 1 and 1.5 TWh of electricity, and spend approximately $500,000,000 per year to remove 500 kilotonnes of CO2 per year.
Who is going to pay for that? Also who is going to pay for all the extra graft to keep the scam going?
