Welcome To The Future

It’s entirely possible that Canada is headed to the place where Brazil currently finds itself. Just give us time.

First it was a collapse in the currency. Now the rest of Brazil’s financial markets are in the cross-hairs as investors lose faith in the government’s ability to contain a deepening fiscal crisis.

The selloff that sent the real plunging to a record low is engulfing everything from stocks to local-currency debt to dollar bonds, with traders even piling into hedges against a sovereign default. Market watchers say extraordinary measures on Tuesday by the central bank to stem the currency’s slide are little more than a temporary fix, and warn that signs the nation’s congress may water down a high-profile austerity package are likely to only add to the turmoil.

  1. Investing in communism is akin to financial seppuku. Hopefully your assistant removes your head quickly thereafter … so you don’t get much time to see your financial guts spilling all over the floor.

Meanwhile … Ontario continues their advertising blitzkreig going full tilt on Fox News. Pssst … Ontario! We DO NOT “need” you … and if you really cared about U.S. … you’d secure your side of the border.

    1. You know that we can only control who comes into our country? The US should try the same. Under Biden the US has thrown it’s borders wide open. That’s on you, not us.

      1. Yes, and THAT will be done … post-haste … see: Tom Holman. However, if you’ve never seen the “caravans” of people walking through Mexico … being DIRECTED, AIDED, and ASSISTED by the Mexican government and a cadre of NGO’s who shower Mexico with money, not to mention the cartel’s extraction of immigrant wealth … then you should pay attention. Because THAT sort of behavior OUTSIDE our borders is a massive part of the problem. And while there are no large “caravans” of people being photographed for PR queuing-in Ontario … your PM has certainly … enabled all the poor dependent/immigrants to leave Canada (lightening your financial burden) across your southern border.

Good fences make good neighbors … and that fence needs to be maintained on BOTH sides.

    2. Good observation, it’s fairly obvious, but some do not want reality and who can blame them? it looks dark.

Trump is shedding debt and liability. Annexing Canada is to make you look. Canada is enormous and unwieldly debt.

It will be easy to sell the resources or to buy them. Why bother with the debt?

That’s where I see your idea headed. And it looks right to me.

  2. I think Canada will be okay if we do some Argentina style deep cuts. Pitch the CBC and the human right tribunals, buy out and lay off about 15% of the workforce. Return immigration to pre-Trudeau volumes with the pre-Trudeau point system as well. Start an investigation into graft with the understanding that charges will be laid.

There are other things, but I think you get the drift.

    1. The federal workforce has increased by over 40% under Blackie.
At least a 25% reduction is required, along with commensurate welfare spending also be cut back. Namely, the dental program, the lunch and daycare spending. Sorry kiddos, but we paid for our kids lunches, daycare and dental and survived quite well.
You can make sacrifices like we did.
      Second and third hand vehicles.
      NO foreign vacations.
Stop buying the latest greatest things and live wth what you’ve got.
These are qualities seemingly lost on today’s yutes, who need to have it all, cuz the Joneses are doing it. The Trudeau government has proven that wasteful borrowing and spending has dire consequences.

      1. ah shucks Dan, l wuz ready to complain about my galaxy 5 cell phone isnt packed with features just itching to tell the whole world who l had coffee with.
my ‘beef’ with said yute: all true, took me SIX TRIES kijiji ad some help with a concrete zhob, including bashing waste brick to
-make gravel l didnt have to then buy,
-find somewhere to get rid of it
the one 20something l paid 20-30 a pop depending on the exursion level, he got let go when l sent him with a wheelbarrow of busted concrete and brick to heave it in the municipal bin.
-he got abt 200 feet away and dumped it curbside. also,
-no one under 30 knows about cleaning paint brushes.
l know all this because lve gone thru 8 helpers getting the place up to par for sale.
tq pm TURDhole you jacked up housing costs right when lm ready to let go.
yada yada ya rent doubled. well SO WHAT the doubling of the house sale vastly more than makes up for it, AND the pension is indexed to inflation.

      2. No reduction in the “federal work force” should be required, if they will get themselves in shape and join the army, navy, or air force, which will be much bigger if we are going to becone a real country.

      1. As others have said, 15% is kind of chicken feed.

Maybe 15% annually, for each of the five years until our strong and powerful countrywomen suddenly think it’d be great to have a photogenic fancy-socked douchenozzle who wants to ban what kind of drinking straws we use in power again.

    2. I agree with you, but would go even further – decrease the federal government payroll by at least 50% – retirements, or “your services are no longer required”. I say this because I was a relief worker for 2 summers (1972, 1973) during university. The only activity which you saw was every second Friday when the payroll cheques were handed out. I was paid to sit and “do nothing” just in case something had to be typed.
Next, Canada is dirt poor – no more foreign aid, no more money to foreign wars and no more monies to support the main stream media. No more interference in private business (such as the EV mandates).
This is my wish for 2025!

    1. 0.70 USD = 1 CAD
      0.50 USD = 1 MXN

If this keeps up we’ll have Canadian Pesos instead of Canadian Dollars.

        1. No, it is one dollar and forty six cents per canadian for a U S buck. The overnight trading rate means nothing to a canuck traveling south for some sun and golf. We have to buy from canadian banks.

  3. Were you aware that there are more Brazilians in Canada than any other country other than Brazil itself? It surprised me because there are less in Argentina (Brazil’s neighbor and primary trading partner) than Canada.

    1. Was hoping I could get a good bikini wax, but instead all we got was mountains of debt and an army of Sikh Amazon Prime truck drivers.

  4. Left wing government always ends up in the same predicament – if only there were places where children could go and learn things about history, right and wrong, how free people and free markets lifted billions out of poverty – we could call these places schools!

    1. Yup and everyone forgets what cesspools consisting of smoke being blown up asses , and merit badges for smiling they have become.
Vote how you like …. but it’s what’s taught or isn’t that matters.
A good friends brother sold his house bought an RV and they headed for Mexico, kids and all. His children apologizing for being white was his last straw. The Lambton – Kent school board is as bad as the Toronto one.
I’m not saying give up but for Pete’s Sake have the guts to know what the country is up against.
And the path to Post Modernism was made easier by Fiscal Conservatives …….. just saying.

  5. Well Brazilian President Lula recently was admitted to hospital with a brain bleed. Sounds like Trudeau who is a walking brain bleed.

  6. We need to rein in the grifting. MPs and senior federal bureaucrats should be restricted from appointments to the boards and commissions that will be retained after cuts. They can live well on their generous pensions.

    1. l love these ‘shoulds’ given THEY ARE THE ONES MAKING THE RULES.
so do tell, how would a ‘should’ like THAT ever come about? realistically? hmmm?

  7. Canada’s decades of over-immigration and dissimilar immigration is making it the Brazil of the north – low social cohesion and a get what you can country. A divided, pointless place that exists only for historical reasons that no longer matter much, ever further away from realizing its potential.
