That’s why the “City” of Calgary paid off that part of the city for home repairs as a result of a hail storm….EVEN THOUGH it is the responsibility of the home owner to carry insurance for such things. The City said they would extend the “program” throughout the City, but didn’t do so and quietly cancelled it. And the result? Why former City councillor Chahal (the porch pirate) gets elected as a Liberal in Calgary Skyview. (By the way, I registered a formal complaint with the “Integrity and Ethics Office” at the City that those payments were effectively a bribe but of course that office is completely useless like most are.)
Lived in northeast Calgary (Temple) for six years and couldn’t wait to get to hell out. Moved back from Calgary in 2008. I can’t imagine what it’s like now.

Jyoti Gondek seems to me to typify the Jacobins and Bolsheviks that dominate politics today in all (electable) parties. Attributes include sociopathy, amorality, ethics aimed at not getting caught, statist (blurring the lines between socialism and fascism), anti-liberty (particularly free speech), and worst of all, confining policy and speech to the limits imposed by legacy media progressive gatekeepers. As yet another (s)elected communist, I reject the argument that Gondek is pandering to Muslims, but rather doing what she is told to do by her handlers. Rile up the people and keep them divided. Keep them arguing about peripheral things, and keep their attention on the orchestrated events in the Middle East. No different than the orchestrated events in Ukraine.
Her tenure will see the continued downfall of Calgary by prioritizing the anti-scientific lies of global warming, and fascism using the plandemic hoax as the excuse, and increasing crime and drug use, and making housing less affordable, while pushing even greater densification and increasing taxes even higher.
All these events are planned, and the POSs that rule us do so by deceiving people into believing that we actually elect our puppets, and therefore must abide by the evil they push. Which weakens us further every day, and pushes us ever closer to poverty and utter reliance on their grace to return to us a fraction of our own money and resources.
