It turns out that you can have battery-powered cars, or you can have renewable energy, but you can’t have both.
The Federal Council of Switzerland has therefore published draft legislation, which outlines four tiers of escalating measures to conserve electricity and avert potential blackouts. The first prescribes a lot of temperature restrictions for things like refrigerators and washing machines. The second includes more unusual rules, such as the demand that heating in clubs and discotheques “be set to the lowest level or switched off completely,” and that “streaming services … limit resolution of their content to standard definition.” The third foresees cutting business hours, banning the use of Blue Ray players and gaming computers, and also limiting the use of electric cars, which should be driven only when absolutely necessary. A fourth and final tier mandates closure of ski facilities, casinos, cinemas, theatre and the opera.
I love how clubs and discos, streaming services, and video games, those are all targeted before casinos, theatre and the opera.
Tells you a lot about who is making the laws.

I suspect most clubs aren’t running any heat anyway, Just AC for all the heat generating people that show up, and they won’t complain about turning that off to save money
I’ve been saying it from the jump … we cannot produce enough affordable electricity to carry on as we have been … Now we have millions of new electric cars and trucks sucking up the volts that we need for hospital operating rooms, apartment buildings, business, our very homes and pretty much everything that is part of the modern world.
Our betters aka ‘evil political clowns’ are suggesting we all live as they did back around the year 1900.
I seriously doubt they will include themselves in this purge of civilization.

Look back at the pre-industrial era. For the smelly people the method of exploring new places was to walk. Or get a horse to walk for you. Hence the vast majority spent their entire lives within a radius centred on their home.
Come the development of trains people could go ‘somewhere else’ relatively quickly and relatively cheaply. This, for the unwashed masses, was ground breaking. Going somewhere was a realistic possibility.
Advance some more and we get to the privately owned car. You can now go somewhere on a whim, not a timetable.
Rightly or wrongly the masses now had freedom to travel that would be utterly alien to their Grandparents.
And now what do your Elite Experts want to do for us? Private vehicles are naughty. You should embrace public transport. Sure you will have to travel when WE tell you to, but Saving The Planet.
Of course then what can be done is once they have made you dependant on public transport, they can shut it down when needed. Major protest against the elites planned in the centre of the city? Shut down the trains. It happens. It is real.
So, restrict people’s ability to travel and then control the flow of media and you can just isolate and deny the existence of protests.
