When they are allowing mental illness to be a criteria, and providing counsellors to advise people, and probably rating said counsellors based on how many “successes” they have, it’s pretty much already mandatory.

Although the Nazi’s were bad, forced sterilization took place in Canada up until at least 1973, which included a “Board of Eugenics” (comprising a Judge, Social Worker and Psychiatrist) in BC from 1933 to 1973.
I’m sure you could also find examples in the Soviet Union or their client states, in their quest for “The New Soviet Man”, as well as similar programs in any country that is nominally Socialist or Communist.

Tried reading the article but it’s use of excessive adjectives and adverbs came off like a comment section rant. It’s appeal is lost to people who prefer reason, logic and deliberate composition, delivered in a manner like Thomas Sowell or Jordan Petersen. Sounding like the left is never a good look. Restrain a bit more when composing articles.
Perhaps the topic itself inspires determined use of descriptive language? We are talking about EXTINGUISHING the lives of healthy people!! For fashions sake. For “progressive” sake … for God’s sake.

Many years ago, I knew someone who was a nurse in Montreal. She said she had once been given the job of sitting by the bedside of some wealthy Montreal financier/industrialist. I recognized the name back then but can’t remember today. He was not a public official. This person was quite aged, and in some kind of coma. Pretty much on life support. There was nothing for her to do but sit there, staring at an unresponsive person. She was on a shift with several other nurses to provide round-the-clock medical supervision. Doctors came in regularly to do nothing of significance other than make an appearance. Hospital security kept guard outside the door at all hours.
The nurse told me all these people were being paid normally by the provincial health system; they weren’t working privately for this super rich financial titan. The nurse eventually said she would no longer do this work, as her regular ward needed her desperately, and if this fellow’s family wanted special care, they could pay for it outside the system. I think I remember that her management made threats, but they didn’t want any attention that a union grievance might have attracted. So they let her go.
She told me this sort of thing was rumoured among the system to happen often. I suppose hockey players get preferential treatment too. But how many Canadians will complain about that?
The opposite of this sort of preferential treatment is that poor nobodies with no next of kin to advocate for them might frequently “volunteer” their healthy organs for reuse by the predator parasite elite class.
Government medicine can easily become a medical horror show for the non-elites.
If there’s a vague promise of free stuff, the average Canadian will line up for the final shot.
