  1. Remember that solar panel fire in LA … 4-days ago?
Yeah … it’s STILL burning … and the LAFD doesn’t know how to stop it. Or simply cannot stop it.

The solar panels are STILL burning … 4-days after they first caught fire. Behold your Net Zero future … of Net Zero buildings and businesses. But think of all the money they’ve saved with all that FREE renewable energy …

    1. The company I used to work for had a brand new warehouse (with rooftop solar panels) about a half mile from a Dietz and Watson (lunchmeat) warehouse blaze (also rooftop solar panels) exactly like this. It was all over the Philadelphia news for days, and we had just promoted internally that our new warehouse was using “green energy”, and so, my manager (head of “Facilities” for the corporation), had to answer tons of questions from what seemed like pretty much everyone in the company. It was not a pleasant time for him. He was a bit of a jerk, so I had the whole schadenfreude vibe going on for a couple weeks. Here’s an article on the blaze:

      1. Is it the heat intensity on a roof that causes panel failure and fire? Haven’t heard of fire in open field panel installations, just storm and hail damage.
Is it localized global warming (LGW)?

        1. Not sure actually. I would imagine with the scale of some of these arrays, and all the multiple individual electrical connections, that you perhaps increase the chances of a fire. As the article indicated though, they are definitely a real PITA to attempt to extinguish.

          1. That makes sense … but WHAT’s … STILL burning? Which cannot be put out with the millions upon millions gallons of water being poured on it!? Did you see the video of all those massive Firehoses pouring water on the fire? All to no avail? The roof hasn’t collapsed … so the wood/steel roof structure is still intact.

So it has to be the “safe”, “inert”, electrochemical pv wafers that are runaway burning. Hence … ALL solar panels should be classified as the most dangerous of all building materials … that demand special fire resistance, fire extinguishing considerations.

But this has been completely ignored in our PC building codes. Same with bird chopping low frequency health damaging giant fans … no code restrictions.

  2. Huh? Where’s the TWA recruiting video for the gay 40yo men desperate to get married? Because they all seem to be packed-into (sorry) my flights.
