  1. I have an example of how the Left re-writes history (not sure you could consider it a tip, but it’s educational):

    There is a movie coming out in August called “The Brink of War”. It’s one of those films where someone decides to enlighten the rest of us with historical record. I sense from the trailer that there is an ulterior motive. The movie is about the Iceland Conference in 1986 between Reagan and Gorbachev. Reagan is played by…(drumroll)…Jeff Daniels. Daniels has a reputation for being so far on the Left he’s likely to fall off the flat earth. The first thing you’ll notice in the trailer is that Daniels has a very fake wig on his noggin, and he doesn’t even try to do the Reagan voice (come on, everyone can do a semi-acceptable Reagan impression, but not Jeff).

    Anyway, the trailer makes a point to show Reagan suggesting to Gorbachev in a tense moment that they should just remove nuclear weapons from everyone’s arsenal and end the nuclear age. There’s just one problem with that. Reagan didn’t suggest that. Gorbachev suggested that. In fact, he came out publicly before the conference and said it to the press. In Iceland Gorbachev used that as a framework to his position.

    So, in 2 minute trailer which is the first peak of this “historically accurate” Oscar bait film they got the most important and fundamental fact(s) wrong relative to the focus of the conference. That can’t be accidental.

  3. Yes Robert, I wax nostalgic for the same things … but these AI projections are all too perfect and antiseptic as to be memories of nothing that REALLY existed at the time.
    1. The streets were never filled with all current model 1950’s automobiles with nary a truck illustrated. No, there would have still been lots of junker 1940’s annd earlier cars. And no telephone pole and maze of criss-crossing overhead wires. Not realistic in the least.
    2. And where were the beatniks and poetry readings in dirty coffee shops and basement clubs? Northbeach was full of em.
    3. And where was Alan Ginsberg, the flaming pedophile homo reading his filthy poetry in filthy basements. That’s a rather distinct history of 1950’s SF … and perhaps the inflection point of a beautiful city turned bad.

Solid points Kenji, but I think these videos are helpful to our side, to show folks what might be possible if society at least attempted to “go back”, to return to “the good old days”, to replicate a lot of what was presented – mostly everyone dressed in suits/dresses; young, beautiful women everywhere (and attracted to much older dudes – lol); clean streets devoid of trash (human and otherwise); inexpensive diners with giant curved windows on every corner; a homogeneous population with shared values, etc. We can go back – AND WE WILL.

Yes, I’d LOVE to return the CA of my youth. Because it was a beautiful place. A civilized place. A polite place. A high trust place.

        Now … cynicism, nihilism, atheism, and communism define CA. It’s a sad place (outside insular wealthy communities of white people). It would be nice to return all our major cities to a repeat of our past. so yeah … there is a value in the imagery of how it used to be when CA was a mostly conservative State … sanitized or not.

    Seeing as our betters are falling over themselves seeking vast and sundry identities to celebrate including any obscure ethnic group’s day of recognition, I suggest we celebrate and recognize that ethnicity that has prior to confederation contributed and continues to contribute to our national fabric. With that I propose July 4th be given all the recognition given to all the other foreign and diverse demographics our betters instruct us to give recognition to.

  31. Has anybody else gone through this stupid respiratory virus going around?

    I’ve had much worse, COVID and a really bad flu in 2010 or 2011, but after a month this dang thing is still hanging in with an occasional cough that doesn’t go away and of course wakes me up every night.

    The hospital family clinic I go to is insisting I get a COVID shot right away, which I politely declined and boy are they angry at me! First they want you to get the shot from a pharmacy, they want a copy of that proof of “vaccination” and then after the shot, they then want to provide the unreliable PCR test. They will not authorize a $75 antibody test before getting any shot (which I will never ever get an mRNA treatment) which I volunteered to pay. You would almost think that someone is paying for PCR tests when combined with the COVID-jab. And yes, the major hospital clinic is clearly now a profit center, changing a good proportion of their business to treating foreigners on a pay-for-service basis.

    1. There has been a lot of this virus strain circulating in New Brunswick this spring, where it lasts three to five weeks for any one having it. Given my and my wife’s age and health conditions, we made the joint decision to follow protocol for seniors and to have the shot, plus the prescribed regular booster shots following the first shot.

      My dear wife caught a mild case of Covid two years ago, and two months ago had a month long case of the debilitating virus, but it has now gone away. I thought I caught the virus from my wife, where I had a very mild fever and sore throat for two days, yet that brief spell went away.

      On that note (and SDAers please do not flame me tor saying this), I have never so much as gotten a cold since my first shot in 2021. I used to get one or two “man colds” a year, where I has fever, a sore throat, a runny nose,, and some chest congestion for three days. Since 2021 no more man colds. So the shots have worked for me, but not as much for my wife. I am very critical of Trudeau’s over-the-top Covid program and sent money to help the Freedom Convoy. But at 77 years and a twice cancer survivor, I am protective of my life. I am pro-life, and celebrate life. I hope this helps.

    This may be because Elon Musk, traded all ownership in xAI (yes, that’s X plus Grok) for additional SpaceX stock so SpaceX is the sole owner, before the SpaceX Initial Public Offering of stock comes out. SpaceX buyers will get stuck with all those Grok AI costs. Not only do they want better looking books, but to stick the public SpaceX buyers with part of all those exploding AI expenses.

    People forget all the government loan guarantees Musk got from Barack Obama for Solar City that was a waste of $100’s of millions, and then rather than declare bankruptcy, he forced Tesla to buy up his insolvent company.
