38-year-old Dalvir Singh Jhattu crashed into the back of the tow truck, destroying that vehicle, the tractor-trailer and the Mercedes.
Convicted of dangerous driving and “sentenced”…
…to a six-month conditional sentence order, 90 days of house arrest, a 12-month Canada-wide driving ban and conditions, including no possession or consumption of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating substances.

If Jhattu the Hutt was declared a Trucker Convoy participant, he would be facing seven years in prison.
BC judge likely thought he was indigenous.
Some Singh is wrong.
Weird. The driver is convicted but no mention what caused the accident (Speed, distraction, drugs). I can infer from his ban on “possession or consumption of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating substances” but wouldn’t the article state of what substance he was under the influene? Weird.
No impaired driving conviction which reeks of plea deal.
Ah that could explain it. If he got a deal, then the court wouldn’t “find” that he was impaired and thus it can’t be declared as fact (thought they could still say alleged right?). I am guessing
Was there any mention of his cellphone, anywhere?
He was very likely doing crosswords when the mercedes on the tow-truck mysteriuosly appeared in his windshield, right out of nowhere!
Like, deport the SOB, NOW!
There are enough dumbass drivers out there.

“Jhattu was found guilty of dangerous driving and on April 8, 2026, he was sentenced to a six-month conditional sentence order, 90 days of house arrest, a 12-month Canada-wide driving ban and conditions, including no possession or consumption of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating substances.”
6 Months, seems to be short.
Dalvir Singh Jhattu. Alberta man. Also Saskatchewan man, Manitoba man, B.C. man, Ontario man, Quebec man, you get the picture. If I see a white dude driving a truck I call the company and report a stolen vehicle.
I like Kate’s sneer quotes for the word “sentenced”. A keeper.
Have you ever seen video of the roads in the places these “Alberta men” are coming from?
I don’t think they need to be on anything to be dangerous.
They learned that driving is an activity where safety is not even likely, let alone the primary expectation.
Brutal sentence. They really whacked his wrists there…
An airborne semi…
where’s Tiger?
